I think my GP prescribed it or something similar for one of my children.

Yes but evidence is needed to support the dogs indication, otherwise all you have is a dog that sat down or barked or whatever. They are trained dogs but without evidence you have nothing.
The hire care they rented weeks after the disappearance? Did they dig her up and move her or something all while being watched and accosted by the non-stop British press? They are the greatest criminals in the history of criminals according to some on here.

Didn't necessary have to be a body, could be anything that came into contact with one. Someone (in my opinion) died in that apartment and there is only one missing person.
How do you think the parents got rid of MM's body when they were at the tapas bar? Do you think this could have happened before they went for dinner - so they disposed of her body, while looking after the twins, then went for dinner? Or they hid her body, while looking after the twins, then disposed of her later with the eyes of the press on them?
I dunno, it sounds a stretch to me, like how and why would they do this?
This is where “the McCanns did it” theory loses me, I just can’t fathom how they’d dispose of a body with everything else going on as you said, in a holiday resort, where presumably they wouldn’t be massively familiar with any potential body dumping spots, AND THEN get away with it for this long.
But I would love to hear thoughts on how it could be possible.

If my child had gone missing, apparently abducted, and then the cadaver dogs indicated a dead body had been in that same room I would be inconsolable, wondering if they’d been killed in that room. Yet they immediately dismissed it as being wrong. How do they know it was wrong? Why did they never consider it as a possible option? Surely you would consider ALL possible scenarios?

Yes, it’s the outright dismissal itself which is curious. And the McCanns were similarly dismissive of the Smith sighting.

Gerry being unlikeable does not make him guilty of covering up an accidental death. However - the clip of him saying that five or six weeks after Madeleine’s disappearance, they were glad the media attention went quiet so he thought “we’d start to get back to a sort of more normal existence” - not only is that unfathomable to come from the father of a supposedly abducted child, he goes on to say they could then broaden their focus to the wider political issues
One possibility is their connection to Clement Freud. He might have been helpful as a local. But then, were they so familiar with him, to trust him in such an extremely delicate matter, to say the least?
Also, the priest, they confessed to, who later made a remark about what they had told him. There are rumours, her body got cremated in a coffun with another dead person.
But that's all just speculations ofc.

I know im very late to the party but my boyfriend suggested I watch the netflix documentary (I never got round to it at the time) my first thought after watching the first episode was about one of their friends checking in on the children. He stated he only saw the twins and didn't properly check on them. Did he open the window and why? They also left the patio down unlocked which just seems crazy to me. Im unsure if the friend did check on them but even if he did and someone did kidnap her then that's a massive window of opportunity. Ive always been on the fence about it being an accidental overdose or foul play.

Possibly although everything else indicates there was zero shame or embarrassment. Quite the opposite if you recall Kate saying - as just two examples - “we felt guilty but only for a few days” and “I know we are very good parents”.
Forget shame or embarrassment - a little humility wouldn’t go astray under the circumstances.
Perhaps one playing devils advocate would then say they were overcompensating. Ok but then you would do the re-enactment (plus other actions that would increase the chances of finding answers).
Whichever way it’s looked at - the McCanns actions and behaviour is tricky at best to square away.
Yes, and also any legal advisor would tell the parents not to do a re-enactment - police only ask people they suspect of a crime to do a re-enactment. It's a great way to make yourself look like a guilty criminal, in the same way as attending court in 'on remand' clothing or doing a 'perp walk' into court.
I think the parents careers affected how they behaved following MM's disappearance - from the outset they were very defensive, bullish, they sought to limit reputational damage and they were litigious etc.
They handled it like the two middle-class professionals that they are, not surprising really.

I don't think it would have been a wise move to indulge in a dangerous fantasist in an attempt to get her off their backs.
