I'm mostly lurking here, but I'm appreciative of the balanced chat and open minds of everyone posting. It's a shocking case no matter what the outcome and I'm sure we've all got the babies and families in our hearts first and foremost.

Some say the top bosses of the hospital are using her as a scapegoat. I will be very interested to see what evidence they have against her.

I think Lucy has almost become mythical to a point where people aren't seeing her as a person. Either a normal girl wrongly convicted or psychopathic baby killer.

We need the trial and we need hard facts. Until then nobody knows fuck all really.

My sister works at the same hospital and is friends with some of LL colleagues people were absolutely shocked at her arrest nothing seemed off about her at all

Hi I’m just jumping in as I’ve been following the case from the start and thought I’d register to be part of the thread. I’m reading the posts feeling sick to my stomach today, my little girl who is 6 was born at the Countess in April 2016 and had an unknown infection when she was born so I took her down to NICU twice a day for 5 days. I remember the times I spent with her down there and the thought that those poor babies should be the same age as my daughter now really upsets me. I have really vivid memories talking to a nurse when they were struggling to get her cannula in and in my head she looked just like LL but it is probably just my mind overthinking the “what ifs”. I am open minded about the outcome but my heart is very heavy for everyone involved, it is clear MANY errors were made and answers need to be given. Thanks for the interesting thread I will be sure to keep up with it over the coming months.

I don’t believe anyone who is posting online claiming to be her friend. Some people will always force themselves into a situation that has nothing to do with them for some attention.

To be honest, it's easily done. Whilst it should go in the confidential waste bin at the end of your shift, if your in a rush to get home it's simply left in your pocket. I've come home before with my huddle and handover from that days shift.
Begs the question why she had the handover of a child who wasn't allocated to her though, you'd only expect her to have her own paitents.

I wonder if she watched Hollyoaks. They had a Doctor serial killer beginning in January 2015. Countess of Chester baby deaths started in June 2015. Maybe I’m crackers. Just seems a strange coincidence.

Bah I think she did it. Seven murder charges and ten attempted murder charges, there must be some serious evidence even to take it to trial.

The BBC’s wording was that she allegedly attacked the infants.

Many medical professionals are ”high functioning psychopaths”. If she had allegedly offed one or two infants she may never have been found out. How many other nurses have done it and never been found out. What a terrifying thought.

I can’t understand how people say scapegoat . Just today’s updates has me thinking GUILTY . Injecting air in the blood stream . collapsing happening on her night shifts then she moved to days and it followed but stopped at night . Injecting insulin . thats not hospital failings surely

just like Beverly allitt who attacked a set of twins - one dead and one brain damaged. I can’t imagine what it must have been like to have your children robbed from you in that way.

A distressing detail about the twins is that after the first one died the other was readmitted to hospital as a precaution - the parents were so grateful to Allitt for the care they thought she'd shown and asked her to be the baby's godmother. She then attempted to kill that baby too.

They should’ve made changes when Beverly Allit murdered several children.

Just wondering, didn't the hospital end up not accepting babies born under 32 weeks? Could that account for the deaths going down or is my timeline off??

My twins were born in June 2016 at 26 weeks on the Wirral. They were taking all the level 3 Chester babies at the time as Chester’s unit had just closed and was special care only.
My friends baby was born at 27 weeks in Chester the same day as my twins and because they kept her off the vent for a while, Chester kept her for 3 days but as soon as the baby needed ventilating she was transferred over to APH. My friend really struggles with what came out about COCH, especially as her little one was transferred back there around due date time and spent the last couple of weeks there before going home.
My friend worked on paeds at Chester at the time, and was really shocked by what came out.
We lost one of our twins, I just can’t imagine what those parents have been and are going through.

It was concluded Beverly Allitt had Munchausen by Proxy disorder, and some really disturbing evidence came out during her trial. Her friends, family and colleagues all had major concerns. It will be interesting to see the evidence in this trial. My heart just breaks for the bereaved parents, and the parents of the injured babies. Reliving such a traumatic time is just unbearable to think about. So heartbreaking.

Beverley Allit was super disturbed, it’s beyond me how she even got her nursing degree. When she was living in share house with other nurses, she would smear faeces in certain places and adamantly deny it wasn’t her, yet there was times she was the only one in the house when the incidents happened. Then one time she left a cookery dish with diarrhea inside of the oven and once again denied it was her.

Also intrigued to find out what evidence they have against her. They must have substantial evidence to take it to trial and for it to be estimated to last 6 months. It’s going to be emotive I imagine and must be horrific for the parents who have lost babies.

On page 3, there is an article linked and this is a quote from it:

When Lucy was first arrested, police searched the entire home that she purchased for a little over $200,000. They even dug up her gardens trying to find any sign of infant remains.

So yeah they were looking for bodies which is totally weird bc the babies died in hospital and Idk but I hope if any baby went missing there would be a search and new coverage for it right? Also scary thought but did the bodies go missing from hospital morgue? That wouldn't of been kept secret would it?

I would imagine they checked incase she had given birth to any children herself and buried them in her garden? I know it sounds far fetched but it has happened in the news many times before.

Just a thought for those on here & on the fb page, if you want to remain anonymous don’t cross post. It happened on the star Hobson case I seem to recall & caused a poster some hassle. Interested to see how this trial progresses.

I just can't even begin with all the "discusted" Facebook vigilantes so I don't engage. No ma'am. Much more welcome and intelligent debate over here

The thing I find the most baffling is that she stopped.

She (allegedly) goes on this killing spree during 2015-2016 and then stops for 2 years, before her arrest in 2018.

That seems very unusual, usually people who get a thrill from killing (for whatever reason) start with their first killing where they are incredibly careful. Then there’s usually a long gap where they decide they won’t ever do it again. Then they do. Then they realise that murders are quite easy to get away with and they ramp it up a gear. Then they start being careless and that’s when they are caught.

She seems to have committed all of these crimes in quite short succession and then just… stopped? Was an internal investigation started at this point? What happened to make her stop?
