The people that think she's innocent -

how do they think the babies died?. Do they think it was someone else?. Or mistakes made because understaffed?

They think the doctors and staff were never there but at the same time murdered the babies and tens of them worked in cahoots to scapegoat Lucy for over a year and then they stopped this blame shifting once Lucy was gone and all the deaths stopped. Phew! Not sure they’d have got away with that twice!

They think there was a sewage virus that fell on people’s heads despite there being zero evidence of that and swathes of evidence for deliberate harm like multiple throat injuries, indisputable poisoning on Letby’s shifts and liver injuries that only happened when Letby was alone with babies.

They think the babies were all just going to die anyway but at the same time doctors killed them with mistakes, euthanasia or by just not being there but whilst also being there to do all the mistakes and scapegoatingy stuff.

They think everyone else’s behaviour at the hospital was dreadful apart from Letby and that taking, keeping and moving handovers house with you for years is very very normal and in fact great practice. Writing you’re evil and did it is also the sign of true innocence and anyone normal would have scrawled murderer, ‘I did it on purpose’ and Craig David lyrics.

It really annoys me how people think either Lucy did it OR the hospital was rubbish. It can be both at the same time, hence why she got away with it so long

I was discussing LL with my (non-medical) sister. She asked for my perspective - I’m a CC RN, different patient group but still easily comparable.
My take is - and always will be - if a nurse had a week or two of unexpected deaths - we’d all ride at dawn rallying for them, supporting them - ‘what terrible luck, are you ok, we’re all here etc’…
Any longer? Months? YEARS??? Just wouldn’t happen. So in my professional, and personal opinion, she will always be guilty, no shadow of a doubt.

The night everything changed

While recovering from a Caesarean section, the mother regularly visited the neonatal unit to bring breast milk. One evening, she approached her sons’ room and heard an intense scream she says she has “never heard anything like”.

Inside, she found Baby E crying with blood around his mouth. Lucy Letby was the only other person present.

The nurse told her the baby’s feeding tube had likely irritated his throat and reassured her a doctor had been called. Trusting the experienced nurse’s calm manner, the mother returned to her ward after being told not to worry.

Later, Baby E’s condition deteriorated dramatically. The parents watched through glass as medics attempted to resuscitate him. Eventually, they were told nothing more could be done.


“He died in our arms,” the mother recalled. At the time, doctors believed his death was linked to a bowel condition and prematurity, and no post-mortem examination was carried out.

Disturbing memories revisited

Following the baby’s death, Letby bathed him and dressed him in a little woollen gown, before giving him back to the parents to hold for a little bit longer.

Letby also presented the parents with a memory box containing a lock of hair, handprints and photographs, some taken without their knowledge. The gesture initially seemed comforting, but later became deeply unsettling.

The nurse also showed the parents a photo of Baby F “rolling over” to hug his twin’s teddy, something the parents later realised newborn babies are physically unable to do.

Medical experts would later conclude Baby E died from internal bleeding and an air embolism, deliberate acts for which Letby was convicted.

A second attack just 24 hours later

Within a day of losing one child, the parents faced another nightmare when Baby F suddenly deteriorated. He survived after emergency treatment, and doctors initially believed he had an infection.

Two years later, the family learned his intravenous feed had been deliberately poisoned with insulin. Now seven years old, he lives with severe learning difficulties and complex medical needs.

“There’s a consequence,” his mother said. “And he’s living with it.”

Its so stark seeing it written down isnt it. And those poor poor parents, even their baby's memory box is contaminated with evil because it was put together by her. Evil gloating cow

I think that’s what was most disappointing about this documentary. I was expecting a bit of spirit from her — either a cocky “you cannot pin this on me” or a passionate and inconsolable “I’m innocent.” I know not everyone reacts the same way, and you never know until you’re in that situation, but my God, I can see why they called her beige. She is so limpid, so insipid, so utterly blah. She’s like a weak ejaculation. I’ve never seen anyone so dull and vacant in my life. “Quiet and shy” be damned! No one wanted to be friends with her because she was plain old weird!

A white woman. I’ve no doubt that, had she been a BAME nurse or even male, people wouldn’t be kicking off as much and protesting her innocence.

Half way through and it’s making me so bloody angry at all the people fighting her corner. They are literally campaigning to get a serial killer of babies released. The police interview footage is so damning.

i think the note she wrote murderer / murder on has not been seen before, not sure if the jury saw it? I saw it also said insulin on it. I wonder if Myers got this withdrawn from evidence for some reason? I don’t remember tha

At the first arrest she also asked if they were going to search the house. I’m really not sure this would come to my mind if I was innocent.

I did laugh when the footage went from her saying she didn’t have a shredder, to the picture of her shredder

I had also forgotten about her marking the deaths in her diary with initials and asterisks.

The handover sheets are utterly bizarre. No one takes handover sheets home on purpose and if you accidentally do, the fear of having it on you and needing to destroy it ASAP is huge! No normal person keeps over 200 handover sheets.

Mark Macdonald has been caught out telling lies. The Royal Collegue of Occupational Therapists have released a statement confirming that Letby didn't receive support from an Occupational Therapist as he claimed in the Netflix documentary and is basically talking a load of shite.

The police interviews are so damning, just watching them really hits home how evil she is. Will we ever know why?

The police were so lovely with her when she was arrested, really respectful- not that she deserved it.

Just watching the Netflix programme now. She’s soooo guilty, her reaction to being arrested etc is bizarre! Imagine being accused of killing a baby (more than one!!) and you’re so calm - na she’s a psychopath

If this is what she looked like on all the news articles about her instead of that pic they use of her holding up baby clothes or her mugshot then she wouldn’t have even a fraction of the pervy old men supporters protesting her innocence as she currently has.

Even if Letby had been advised to write down her feelings by her ‘therapist/GP/counsellor/psychiatrist/tigger&smudge’, her “feelings” she wrote down were that she killed them on purpose, that she’s evil, and she did this. No therapist would have told her to write that down specifically.

Myers has already argued in front of the jury that these were just ramblings of someone distressed. The jury either didn’t believe it, or decided it was inconsequential to the rest of the evidence either way and discounted it. We will never know how the jury interpreted the notes but it was deemed appropriate by the courts that they heard that evidence.

This is 100% what happened. This is Letby down to a T. It's not even far fetched. The evidence shows it. She was exactly like this. It was definitely an attention thing. There was something wrong with her. Weird upbringing, slight misfit, awkward and a definite lack of empathy. She absolutely wanted to hurt the parents. It's must have killed her seeing the absolute joy of these parents, with their perfectly normal lives.

I think as well her parents were so controlling she had little power over her own life. She did what they wanted her to do. They bought her house, her car. She went on holiday with them 3 times a year. She couldnt move away without them emotionally manipulating her. The only power she had was over the babies, that was something she could control whether they lived or died.

this might have been discussed before but some old school friends are talking about the case on socials and it got me thinking. They are talking about the therapist telling her to write down her feelings and whether it should be considered a confession. If she share those notes with her therapist the therapist would have a duty of care to report them. It doesn’t make sense that she would be encouraged to write these things down without disclosing this first.

Lucy Letby has not once said, ever, that a therapist, or anyone else for that matter, told her to write down her feelings.

I think there’s a lot of people who need reminding of that fact.

What did you think of the mother of baby E’s testimony and the events surrounding that? One incredibly strong witness who often gets forgotten about. She was even more compelling than Dr J and baby K for me.

I’m only half way through. “Zoe’s” mother talking about when she died was so upsetting. What an awful thing to go through, and then to get a phone call saying they’d arrested someone for murder.

Letby’s arrest footage is so weird. The box marked as “keep” - is it the box the shredder came in as it said shredder on it! The way she just said she “didn’t know what to do” with the records… and all those notes.

I do think the documentary should mention the doctor she was having an affair with. I feel like there must be something with that, that caused her to be this way. But maybe that’s just me trying to make sense of how someone could possibly do what she did.

The married doctor, known as Dr Noname, didn't start the unit until after she murdered the first few babies, so he wasn't the reason.

It's not clear if she fancied him or was using him to fed her inside information, which he did. His looks were more Curly Watts then George Clooney.
