The apologising in "the presence of the parents" of LL is so indicative to me of LL's need to be seen by them in a certain light. She wanted them to see her fully exonerated and then grovelled to by consultants and senior leaders. She manipulates everybody.

In turn they have to be involved because they can't let their adult daughter manage her own life and stand on her own two feet. Such an unhealthy dynamic. I find it so odd that they put her getting her degree as an announcement in the paper. Is it a need to have everyone see how brilliant their daughter is and that fed into the need to be involved and get everyone seeing LL in a good light again at the hospital?

And it's written in black and white there, LL asking for evidence they have gathered. WHY WOULD THEY HAVE EVIDENCE AGAINST YOU IF YOU HADNT DONE ANYTHING!!!! She slips up like this so many times, "if they have little on me they'll look silly, not me" and no one she says it to seems to pick up on it.

Those two points I’ve quoted above of yours have made me think about her motives again.
I do think whatever has happened in her upbringing has a lot to do with it.

I thought back to her failing those competencies originally and the notes she wrote about not being good enough and killing them on purpose. I think it genuinely does all come back down to this warped thinking fuelled by her parents.

Maybe initially hurting the babies was an outlet of frustration () when she was doing small things (as let’s face it, she clearly was) and then maybe for a time, she did appear to swoop in and settle them/fix it so she enjoyed that side of things a little but I reckon her parents didn’t openly show her much emotional support, so I think she became addicted to watching other parents go through grief and openly showing emotions for their little ones.

I also believe she’s a narcissist personally but that’s just due to the manipulation, the lies, the sweet innocent act, the increased self importance/dragging other nurses down…she reminds me of my narc ex for those types of traits.

And to add to the above discussion don’t forget she was such a miraculous birth herself and told her friends (and probably anyone who’d listen) about that. Still think she had attention seeking/munchie/factitious disorder tendencies with the eye, thyroid and knee stuff. How she went on about her needle wick after two triplets just died. She obviously went on to Noname about her anxiety, insomnia and depression. House full of commodes ‍
Little miss normal had a lot more going on than anyone realised.

I agree. Her parents were likely to have been controlling and put far too much pressure on her to succeed and do well, which must have caused a lot of anxiety and mental health problems. Her dad being there when she was arrested sounds like even though Letby had her own house, they came and went at will because they helped her buy it. I doubt letby was ever allowed to grow and develop as teenagers do, pushing the boundaries and learning to look after themselves. The Letbys kept her in a state of childhood with a lot of emotional manipulation I guess, so it's no wonder that that's the sort of person she became herself. Even her text message history shows a very manipulative side to her character.

I noticed one of the questions the Trust had to answer in her grievance determination was:

" I also wish to be informed of any evidence the Trust may have and the process they have followed"

Presumably so she could see where she had slipped up and what not to do next time she killed

Yep and she wanted assurances that if there was further deaths then she would not be blamed.
Can you imagine if she had actually returned to the unit. She would have free reign to do as she pleased, a licence to kill.

Lucifer was getting briefed on Operation Hummingbird by the Trust, as and when updates were provided to them by the police. I wonder if the Countess told the police about that arrangement.... I doubt it

doesn’t surprise me sadly! We thought someone was telling her inside info as she had that post it note where she wrote down “insulin” “foreign objects” etc - I imagined it was information on the sly though, not a full on briefing from the hospital execs

She would only have been in the top 50 because someone had nominated her and that person could have been one of the higher ups who she was well in with. I've seen this kind of thing so many times when I was working in the NHS. I've seen people receive awards and OBE's just because of who they were well in with and not because of how good they were. Very often the best go unnoticed.

This is actually interesting. Do we know when some notes were written and found? If they had that info on before the police revealed what they actually had then she is listing the methods used.

the notes were found after she was arrested & her house searched so 2018 - but I don’t think we really know proper dates for when she wrote any of them - some like the triplets it has to be at least June 2017 as she mentions their birthday - a news article said the “foreign objects” one was on a A4 piece of paper inside her 2016 diary, but she could have been pawing over the babies resus dates etc in there a year or two later to get her kicks and put it in there then
