Bit of a fun post. Nothing to do with Letby but the nation's 2 favourite KCs have crossed swords before in the Court of Appeal.

Interesting. I've worked with lots of people with Borderline Personality Disorder and I don't think it fits with what we know about Letby at all, apart from perhaps using unhealthy methods to gain attention (though murdering and harming babies to get attention is obviously beyond extreme). Will the inquiry consider her mental state like the Shipman inquiry did?Book extract in the independent

I’m about 70% in. I think it’s an excellent book, really well written and researched.Read the whole book now. Richard Gill will be annoyed he was not mentioned once and the authors don't appear to have offered to interview him.
Does it indulge the truther rit at all?I’m about 70% in. I think it’s an excellent book, really well written and researched.
It goes into a lot of detail about their interview with Mike Hall. But he does seem like a sensible person and he has never said he thinks she’s innocent and fully acknowledges that a number of the babies are hard to find an alternative explanation for. I think they’ve explored the concerns of the right people if that makes sense but it’s still clear that expert-wise they are the minority. It has been written very fairly.Does it indulge the truther rit at all?
I find it frustrating how Mike Hall keeps claiming that Letby didn't have a fair trial because he didnt have the opportunity to give evidence, when he admits that he couldn't find alternative explanations for some of the collapses. He must realise that she is charged with 7 murder charges, even if he agreed with the prosecutions case with just 1 of them, that is extremely damning and it would be too risky for the defence to call him up.It goes into a lot of detail about their interview with Mike Hall. Mike Hall said he found babies O and P's death the hardest to explain.I find it frustrating how Mike Hall keeps claiming that Letby didn't have a fair trial because he didnt have the opportunity to give evidence, when he admits that he couldn't find alternative explanations for some of the collapses. It addresses most of the alternative theories and looks at them in details. The book is neutral it doesn't say Lucy is definitely guilty or innocent. It sensibly sums up the evidence which debunks the majority of the NG's theories. Concluding that while some people maybe concerned she not guilty It's far from clear that she's actually innocent.Does it indulge the truther rit at all?
I'm not sure of the law here and whether the defence could have called him to give evidence solely on the charges for which he believed the prosecution case was wrong. Or whether having called him he could then be cross-examined more widely for the other charges - and by calling him would that bring all his reports for all the babies into the trial?I find it frustrating how Mike Hall keeps claiming that Letby didn't have a fair trial because he didnt have the opportunity to give evidence, when he admits that he couldn't find alternative explanations for some of the collapses. The appeal hearing if anyone is interested!
Myers looks NOTHING like i thought he would even though I've seen pictures of him. He doesn't look at all convinced by what he's saying!Oh wow what a great find!! We get to see Myers and BNE in action!!!
I agree. I thought they both looked pretty done with the whole thing tbh, like they’re just going through the motions.Myers looks NOTHING like i thought he would even though I've seen pictures of him. He doesn't look at all convinced by what he's saying!
BNE does not come across anything like I imagined!! I only really saw Myers when I went to the trial as he was doing all the questioning of Letby.Myers looks NOTHING like i thought he would even though I've seen pictures of him. He doesn't look at all convinced by what he's saying!
