So called "experts" are jumping on the bandwagon without knowing the full facts of case. Like not knowing about the post mortems, X rays, how blood tests for infection work or even what actually happened to each baby. Yet they give interviews going on about misuse of statistics, sewage and scapegoating. The Lucy Letby case is being compared to completely different cases such as the post masters and Sally Clark. Must be so infuriating for the baby's families.

The Sally Clarke has no similarity to the Letby case at all . I don't understand why the truthers keep comparing them.

In the that clip Sweeney says the sewage in the sink wasn't disclosed in court. It didnt stand up in court because there was no signs of bacterial infection and it didn't effect the unit on the days the babies collapsed. Are these people incapable of doing basic research.

Miscarriages of justice are incredibly rare - I think 80 odd in the last 15 years before the Post Office - and for murder even rarer - and for multiple murder (not counting terrorist bombings) more or less unheard of.

And those two barristers on the podcast both agreed they themselves had had cases where they had not called witnesses because it wouldn't have helped their cases. They concluded by saying that was the probable explanation for Myers not calling a medical witness.
I'd suggest Mr Myers did use the expert witness reports in his cross examination for some of his questions.
There were no doubt points which came from the reports that were contested, and the judge allowed these to be tested.

He will have been advised what questions to ask - but he didn't want his experts on the stand under cross-examination.

It must also be infuriating for the members of the juries, particularly the first jury who sat and listened and deliberated for 10 months which must have been stressful given the nature of the crimes, to now hear all this from idiots who clearly know very little about the case.

It is just utterly disrespectful to them, isn't it? They gave up so much of their lives, had to listen to harrowing details and quite clearly considered all the evidence carefully. I feel so bad for them that they can't speak out about how they reached their decisions.

The mail has another podcast up going over last week.
Poor parents having to relive all this again this week, I really hope this inquiry helps them get some sort of justice for their babies.
Also Hope the noise about her being innocent pipes down, especially this week. let the parents have there say.

The lengths they go to to defend her. Can’t even accept she was wrong with the confidential papers. And Gill even retweeting someone who just referred to Dr Google. And he’s supposedly an expert that needs to be listened to.

Sorry if this has been covered in previous threads but what are the thoughts regarding Letby taking the stand herself? I'm thinking this was against the advice of counsel. They could not stop her doing it and the necessary disclaimers will have been signed. Knowing what we do now about her massive ego (evidenced by the triumphant emails and messages when she thought she had won) it seems the kind of thing she would do. Having called no other witnesses for cross-examination (other than the plumber whose evidence was largely irrelevant) I can't see this being the idea of the defence.
Taking the stand is a pure narc move. They can't help themselves. Ian Huntley, Rose West, Harold Shipman, all took the stand, i think the moors murderers did too, and of course in America Ted Bundy did an absolute performance in court. I can't believe any of the aforementioned's lawyers would have thought it would help the defence to hear from these scumbags, so i am sure they chose it against legal advice. For Letby it made her centre of attention again, just like she was when babies were dying around her.

I also think some get a thrill from reliving their crimes.

Hello everyone,

I wanted to take a moment to check in and apologise for not providing an update as I had initially promised at the end of the trial. The last few months have been quite overwhelming, with work becoming increasingly demanding due to the incidents in Southport, the riots, and the usual complexities of life.

If anyone is still interested in hearing more about her, please let me know. I'm more than happy to share (or are we more focused on the inquiry?). I'm hoping to visit the inquiry soon, as I work just 10-15 minutes from the town hall.

Our lovely Cack and trial friend have been keeping me updated via whatsapp, but I'm just about to catch up on the threads now (from July 🤣 ❤). I've been reading more light hearted threads of late, but i'm ready to jump back in now.

I hope you're all well wrong fella dellas and looking after yourselves x

Wow. So nobody told baby C 's parents the time line before the trial. Baby A, B, C and D happened over four consecutive Letby shifts.

Letby wanted them to leave their baby with her even though he was still living his last moments at that point? Wonder why, could she actually be cruel enough to torture him further at the very end of that poor poor little baby's life? She is a very sick woman. I actually don't know how I would be able to cope being one of the babies' parents and being kept in the dark the way they were. They are so damned brave
