She hasn’t been deemed/assessed as mentally unwell so unsure how she would get a hospital order. Would need to be agreed and assessed by two psychiatrists and that hasn’t happened.
Exactly, BM said no mitigating circumstances. This is when, if there were MH issues, they would have been raised. She hasn't any. She's just evil.

She can duck right off to where she belongs.

This is behind heart breaking 💔 struggling to even read the updates. Can’t imagine the atmosphere in court today. My thoughts are just with all the parents and families and how brave they are. Send the witch down.

10:20am

The mother of Child C has come forward to read out a statement in court.
"I have thought a lot...about whether to let Lucy Letby know of the extent of our pain".
She said there was an immediate bond of love between her and her child, like nothing she had felt before, "my tiny, feisty boy, my son".
The collapse was "so unbelievable", and the parents only held Child C as he lay dying.
"Knowing now that his murderer was watching us was like something out of a horror story".
"I blamed myself entirely for his death, and I still feel guilt I couldn't protect him."
"Eight years have passed, our grief is just as heavy, but we have worked hard to build a life around it."
The mother relays the milestones she has missed with her son growing up.
"All of the things we have missed, we will never know.
"In the darkness of the days, weeks and months, I would open his memory box - I would sniff his lock, I would touch his handprint."
"On July 3 when Letby was arrested, these few memories were tainted. She took those memories [for us]."
"I feel able to wear his hand and footprints for the first time in five years.
"I will not allow [her] to even take that.
"I am horrified someone so evil exists."
"There is no sentence that will ever compare to the excruciating agony you have caused...you killed them on purpose, you are evil, you did this."
Oh god. Oh god. And to read it out herself. I’m broken for her.

lol ben knew all along didnt he
Of course he did. He’s one of the best defence lawyers in the country. And yet all he could come up with is a plumber.

I know he got on our absolute bits during the trial but he’s not thick. He’s batted away Dicky Gill and the other weirdos, because he knows the truth.

Mom of Baby C reminding everyone that it wasn't just enough to harm and kill these babies, she was the one making these memory boxes, trying to taint the last moments of these beautiful little ones.

These statements are destroying me, the bravery of these parents is absolutely astonishing. To end with Letby's own words, my bleeping god. This is bleeping agony and that sick bleep isn't even being forced to hear their words, it makes me sick. It should be compulsory.

They are so brave. This is sending chills down my spine. I was trying to think of the words I would say and couldn’t - there are no words that could express my hatred. She’s not even human. She’s something else. I sincerely hope she lives in the deepest misery and pain every day of her life but I can’t even feel confident she will. She’s a freak of nature.

I think it’s absolutely abhorrent that she’s able to hide away cowardly in the cells. I wish as a justice system we would play her these statements live via a speaker so she’s forced to listen to the poor parents who’ve remained dignified (unlike hers) throughout the entire trial. OR, that they let the parents go down to that cell and the guards turn a blind eye or go on a cigarette break…

Glad BM didn't embarrass himself and offer anything in mitigation, there is no mitigation she deserves a whole life order and I 100% believe that is what she will get today. No way is Goss man giving anything less than that.

I think his sentencing remarks will be very powerful, he seems to be a very fair but he won't take any nonsense today, he will have lived and breathed this for 10 months he won't let those families down.
