I want to know how her Dad was in a position to get involved tbh. I’ve never worked in the NHS but I can’t imagine it’s a place where if I did work within it I’d go crying to my mum and dad and he’d go storming in to confront the big bad bosses who were ‘picking’ on me.

It’s the sort of thing pushy parents do at school when their little angel doesn’t get picked to be star of the show/sports team.

Statement from mum of Babies A & B:

10:15am

She says 2015 was "going to be the best year of our lives" and "everything was perfect", with the babies doing well in the neonatal unit. Child A was "really strong"
She said they would never have imagined there would be "such despicable actions" by a nurse.
"We never got to hold him, as you took him away"
"What should have been the happiest time of our lives became our worst nightmare".
The parents were "riddled with fear" for Child B after Child A was murdered.
"You have been successful in your quest to cause maximum pain".
The mother said "we are forever grateful that you were unable to take [Child B] away that night".
"You tried to take everything away from us. You thought you could 'play god'."
"We hope you live a very long life and spend every single day suffering for what you have done.
"My family will never think of you again. From this day forward, you are nothing."

I’m not sure if this has been posted already but the Daily Telegraph has just reported that Alison Kelly has been suspended from her current NHS job because of her conduct during the Letby case.

I’m only prepared to accept that Noname and Letby had one chaffing dry humping over the clothes session where they both cried and prayed afterwards 🫣😅🤢

I find it hard to believe she was in a sexual relationship with anyone, ever. JMO
Same. Really don’t see it. She probably used her Christianity as a reason for it. But I don’t think she had any interest in that kind of thing at all. Why she misjudged it so spectacularly at the hen party. I think she enjoyed Noname’s attention and I also think she will have enjoyed being able to talk on many occasions and at length with him about the babies that died and he would have gone along with it. Remember when she killed baby C how cross she was with Mel Taylor because she didn’t want to talk about baby A’s death anymore? She was very angry she couldn’t keep going over it with people - she said she wanted to talk about it with Mel because the others didn’t “know” baby a like she and Mel had. Letby “knew” baby A for a matter of minutes. She is warped. She thinks she’s special to the babies as well as the families. “I wonder if anyone else is thinking of you today” on O&Ps birthday. Insane.

NMC finally getting ready to strike her off the register.

Apologies for the long ramble but here are some of my thoughts on LL's motive.

The more that's come out about her life, and her parents - I question what we as a society consider a happy/healthy/loving upbringing. It seems me society think that if a child is raised with financial security and adoring parents, that means a good upbringing. But that isn't correct because 'adoring' in many cases can just be control, where parents expect the child to fill whatever emptiness in their own lives, and exist to make them happy. The children aren't allowed to be their own people and live their own lives - and if they try, there's immense guilt heaped on them. No child can grow up happy and well adjusted, even though from the outside it seems like a great life. It doesn't make someone a murderer, but if you're already born on the psychopathic spectrum, this type of parenting can push you over the edge.

LL's parents seem to have completely infantilised her. Almost like her being an adult woman with adult urges and feelings was unacceptable to them. The stuffed toys that her dad was arranging on the bed after her arrest, her carrying a literal security blankie to court everyday, the fact she didn't think she could go to NZ because it would upset her parents, how living in Chester upset them, how even she admitted she felt 'suffocated' by them, dad getting involved in her work and threatening the doctors. Even her embarrasment at admitting what 'going commando' meant in front of them - she was 33 at the time!!

In 2016 - she was 25, a successful nurse, had lived away from home since uni, and yet they treated her like she was 10 years old. Almost like they just wanted it to be the 3 of them forever.

I read that they helped her buy the house. And it initially confused me why they'd buy her such a big place, given she was single. And it occurred to me that it was so her parents could stay with her often (maybe move in permanently after retirement), which they seem to have done. And I do wonder if her room was decorated like that to keep her parents happy i.e show them she was still their little girl, and the stress of living this double life (feeling powerless to be herself) made her seek out control on the ward. The murders seem very much about playing god/having control over someone's life.

It's so obvious the whole softly spoken, timid demeanour at interviews and in court is completely at odds with her text messages and how she was at work. No one who has the balls to regularly challenge and argue with their superiors, accuse her bosses of bullying and fight doctors/colleagues when they tried to question her - is timid. As another poster said, her bedroom is that of a 13 year old from 2005 - not a 25 year old in 2016! Yet she didn't come across as intellectually stunted or child like at work - everyone said how calm and competent she was.

Means she was good at being what people wanted her to be in the moment - and no one will ever know who LL really was, not even her parents. Not even Dr NN. Remember her post it notes about him - asking him to help her and getting upset that he didn't? I'm so sure she was always manipulating him rather than infatuated with him and the realisation it didn't work sent her over the edge. Those tears she shed and trying to leave the dock weren't because she was in love with him, but angry tears that she couldn't control him anymore. Exactly the same reason she left the dock when verdicts were released - she's not in control anymore and she hates it.

Karen Rees is now Karen Moore. I wonder if that’s a name change because of marriage/divorce or whether she’s trying to hide. One of them, might be Harvey, has moved to France. I think the parents are right to be concerned that they won’t be compelled legally in the inquiry. Seeing as the extent they went to in order to hide what they’ve done is looking rather extensive 😡

I want to know more about the relationship between letbys lover and his colleagues and also the executives! I wonder what part he played in protecting her and making sure the allegations went no further (other than messaging her with info)! now I don’t for a second think he knew what was going on and he was blinded by her. But he wanted to support her even after she had been moved to admin duties (we have seen from their messages). Just feel’s like there is a big chunk that is missing in all this? He must have heard the rumours on the unit (he did because he warned her), and noted the correlation himself between her presence and the collapses. Was he not friends with any of the 7 who fought to get her off the ward and criminally investigated ? Perhaps, they left him out of the fold because they knew he couldn’t be trusted and didn’t respect him. The whole thing is bizarre.

10:20am

The mother of Child C has come forward to read out a statement in court.
"I have thought a lot...about whether to let Lucy Letby know of the extent of our pain".
She said there was an immediate bond of love between her and her child, like nothing she had felt before, "my tiny, feisty boy, my son".
The collapse was "so unbelievable", and the parents only held Child C as he lay dying.
"Knowing now that his murderer was watching us was like something out of a horror story".
"I blamed myself entirely for his death, and I still feel guilt I couldn't protect him."
"Eight years have passed, our grief is just as heavy, but we have worked hard to build a life around it."
The mother relays the milestones she has missed with her son growing up.
"All of the things we have missed, we will never know.
"In the darkness of the days, weeks and months, I would open his memory box - I would sniff his lock, I would touch his handprint."
"On July 3 when Letby was arrested, these few memories were tainted. She took those memories [for us]."
"I feel able to wear his hand and footprints for the first time in five years.
"I will not allow [her] to even take that.
"I am horrified someone so evil exists."
"There is no sentence that will ever compare to the excruciating agony you have caused...you killed them on purpose, you are evil, you did this."

Every single person that hid this should be held accountable and be charged as assisting a offender, the fact they’re all just able to walk round and probably not feel any guilt is fucking disgusting
I don't think it's accidental that Ian Harvey and Karen Rees have since left the NHS entirely and Tony Chambers seems to have just stepped down when it was obvious Letby would be found guilty. They're all trying to avoid any consequences whatsoever.

Well I personally dipped out when there was about 5 threads taking about Fanny flaps and crisp flavours so forgive the people who left temporarily for that for asking questions now it’s actually back on topic 🙄🙄🙄
It's a tough subject, an emotive one and you really do have to sprinkle some lightness in there. But if you find that annoying I believe there's another site where they stick purely to the topic and strictly no humour or light relief is allowed. You'll bloody love it. Not sure if I'm allowed to mention the site but if you Google I bet it comes up for you.

Also if you'd stuck around and been less judgey you might have found a warm friendly and supportive place, with detailed discussions (on the case, not just pissflaps) by folks who have so much knowledge on the court systems, mental health, NICUs etc. Its been a bloody belting thread, it really has. We've laughed, cried and cheered each other on. Who'd have thought a site that has such a reputation for being a troll site, a bitchfest and a hateful place could've created such a great and friendly thread?

But then of course there's people who are all those things isn't there? They troll, moan, bitch are utterly self obsessed and arent really concerned in getting to know about the case....the just want to know who Letby was fucking...they want the juicy gossip, not the horrific details. We don't much care for them.

What are your thoughts on Turkish Delight by the way? 😃

I've been quiet since the verdicts were announced. Some of that is because of how much you guys post, some of that is because I'm in agony and off my tits on codeine for a popped rib. But mainly its because I'm feeling...some kinda way.

At first I was ecstatic and relieved for the families that this has finally ended, and that justice has been done. I've been on these threads for a very long time and followed the case everyday, and they have never been out of my thoughts. What they have gone through, and how their lives will forever be scarred by their experiences and losses at the hands of this fucking beige monster just guts me completely.

But now, my overwhelming feeling is anger. I'm so disgusted by what has happened. Mainly at Lucifer, obviously - every time I see her picture I just want to claw at her smug face with my nails. No sentence, no beating, no torture will ever serve justice for what she has done. And for fucking what?! The knowledge that people exist in our world who are so depraved just utterly terrifies me, it's really doing a number on my mental health. I have been certain of her guilt from very early on, so I didn't think it would be a shock when guilty verdicts came in. But...I am shocked. To have it made real in this way has left me reeling.

When I saw the breakdown of the verdicts, I was angry again. I just don't understand how, with the evidence presented (and probably more than has been reported), someone could sit on that jury and vote guilty for one case without voting guilty for all. It makes no sense to me, and flies in the face of what the judge instructed. That at least two jurors prevented justice being served for every count for every baby makes me despair for the families who haven't been vindicated. I know ultimately it wont make a difference in terms of her sentence as Lucifer will rot in jail anyway, but it does make a difference to how those families move forward. And frankly, if it isn't going to make her sentence any less then I don't understand why any juror would hold out - just throw the book at her anyway. That some dug their heels in just to make a point infuriates me.

I'm also so, so angry at the management. Watching Panorama and the ITV interview with Dr Jayaram, seeing him and Dr Brearey so obviously broken by how hard they had to fight and the guilt they carry (though they shouldn't carry any, at all) while those management cunts have skipped off into the sunset with their bulging retirements or cushy new jobs... I just fucking can't.

And the other people involved who have in some way enabled or supported Lucifer while she did these unspeakable things, fuck them all. Her parents, her friend(s), her skeezy married fuckboy. Get in the bin - drown in bin juice.

I don't even think I'm adding anything of value here, I'm just exhausted with the layers of evil.

I'm so glad to have been part of these threads, because the amazing posters here are about the only thing keeping my faith in humanity from spontaneously combusting. The kindness, critical thinking, and absolute hilarity that has been shared in these threads has made this case easier to follow, and I'm so glad to have you guys as we now face what will probably be an onslaught of shocking facts that haven't been able to be public knowledge whilst the trial unfolded.

I really hope the families are getting the support they need, now and forever. And that their tiny angels are resting in peace.

A very long time lurker here, think I may have posted a couple of times in the past but found it hard to participate as I have personal experience of child loss.

So, I'm watching Sky News, and listening to the impact statements, and I can empathise so much with how those parents are feeling because my own stillborn baby lost her life to catastrophic errors by the NHS, those errors took years to come to light, I was lied to and told things to make me think I was crazy before they admitted to *some* of those errors. Other organisations were uncovered in wrongdoing towards stillborn and infant death, and the lot of it basically consumed years of my life, fighting to ensure it never happened to any future parents. I remember the exact January day it began, making my other half dinner, a TV interview on local news in the background with a parent who'd lost their baby, which caught my attention. I instantly realised my own baby had been affected by the issue this parent was discussing, and it spiraled from there as it led to the cause of my daughter's death being uncovered.

Again, I'm sorry I can't explain further but I don't want to doxx myself as I've done a lot of human rights work on what happened in my particular case so can't give too much detail, but I've had to give evidence to the government about which is similar to an impact statement, just in a different setting. It's incredibly difficult and I applaud each and every parent who has given a statement, whether that be in person via video link, or had their legal team do it on their behalf. Just having to write down what something like this does to you is horrific. You live it every day, but seeing it written down, and hearing it, or reading it to others... in my case it almost felt surreal that all of this could happen to a tiny baby, to a parent, and how is it possible a human could exist with that level of pain. And it's the same when I've been reading the evidence from the parents, whilst we only hear small parts relating to what happened at the hospital it's everything else in life, every second of every day, trying to come to terms with what happened, and finding a new way to live, because you can never go back to being the person you were. I despise LL. But the parents? I have no words which can accurately describe the level of regard I hold them in. I'm not surprised she's not in court, but this need to change. She doesn't deserve the right to hide from the parents. She doesn't deserve to avoid sentencing in person. She deserves nothing but to rot in prison every minute of every day for which I hope is a very long life. Because even if it were 50 more years, it wouldn't compare to a second of those parents lives.
