I guess at that point it’s kind of irrelevant though in terms of fairness to the defendant. 20 guilty charges will mean a WLO so another 2 won’t “add” anything to the punishment?
Hopefully if they get stuck on 2 BMG will eventually accept 20 verdicts and then over to the CPS to decide what to do with the others. For those sets of parents I’d want a retrial so they can get closure but from a practical point of view it’s neither here nor there.

I'm fairly certain if it's not tomorrow, it will be deemed a hung jury or judge will take whatever verdicts they have managed to meet and then it'll be up to CPS to decide whether to peruse again.
We delivered our verdicts at 4.20pm on a Friday after being told on the Wednesday we could deliver majority. After we did the judge told us had we not delivered by 4.30pm it would have been a hung jury and re-trial was pencilled in for a years time.
To this day I still don't know if we delivered the right verdict in terms of what really happened, but by the law of being 'absolutely sure' we did. We were just glad all concerned didn't have to have their anguish prolonged another year. If the jury do manage to deliver, I imagine they will feel at least like the parents can start the healing process rather than awaiting a further trial.

Hope it’s not too long a wait for you and he’s on the mend soon poor little love. We’ve been in and out a lot with my lads asthma and it’s horrid feeling so helpless wanting to make it better for them.

I've just hung the clothing out and can already see a massive difference to my usual laundry. It's mad. The pile was heavy so I guess they press for an hour? Not away next week but three days of being out and about with visitors. Won't always have wifi and mostly won't be able to run off and be alone with my phone so yes, I too selfishly hope it's not during that time (hope it's sooner, obviously). I think it's normal to feel like we want to witness the resolution of something that's taken months of our time and mental energy. We all have the deepest respect and compassion for the families and fully understand that our feelings are not even on the same planet as theirs, but that doesn't mean we can't say this has been emotional and want to be together for that moment to deal with whatever the outcome brings.
