What do people think the bit where Judge Goss says ‘you’ve been operating under the false pretence you won’t be in next week’ means? That the discharged juror shared with them they needed next week off so they all thought they’d be off and decided to arrange their appointments for then?

Thought it was a strange thing to say. I definitely think there’s way more going on than Judge Goss is letting on with this jury, his comments seem quite straightforward initially but there’s an undertone of him being pissed off I think. Quite rightly.
I think he sounds firm but fair. He used the word devotion and thanked the juror that’s had to leave, I don’t get the impression he felt anything but compassion for them. Another reason I think it was a really serious reason they left. He played it all right down to the others and explained it’s not uncommon at all and isn’t significant in terms of the case.
He knows exactly what they’ve all needed time off for. Bereavements and operations are just two serious things we know of.
Perhaps it was an administrative mistake kinda thing for next week and that’s why he was generous. Thinking about his momentum comment, at least with it being Monday it means they’re not interrupted mid-flow (so to speak) again.

I still do struggle to see what other than a medical emergency (which it can’t be because they clearly anticipated it and booked it) could really warrant more time off at this stage but I trust in The Big JizzleGizzle.

She will not walk guys. Don’t make me do one of my here are all the ways she’s absolutely obviously guilty essay posts 🤪

This thread has the most lovely people in the universe on it. You are always here for everyone, whatever their woes are.

LL does not have that and will never have that. Horrible person that she is.

Yay! Glad you had a great day and glad the weather has improved for it. What was your favourite part? Was the hotel OK? Safe onward travels. ❤
hotel was perfect, thank you lovely. Sainsburys helped me sort pre-zoo breakfast and we drove over in to wales before we went to the zoo so we could say we have done wales/England and Scotland all in one day ☺

wouldn’t know where to start with the zoo highlights.. the mama orangutan with her baby holding on to her, whilst she was swinging and teaching the toddler to swing - must have watched them playing for nearly 5 mins on the ropes. Giraffes fed right in front of us - could probably have touched their noses. The sun bears were fab. Obviously the tigers and elephants were amazing. And it was so good to see them all with so much space, so well cared for in such a nice environment. The whole thing was just brilliant. Chester in itself is absolutely beautiful too, driving in yesterday looking at the properties thinking I could definitely be a Real Housewife of Cheshire!

got to Scotland in time to watch the sunset over the sea from the front of the house.. driven three countries and walked 10km today. Let’s hope the week continues to smash it 💪🏻😘

I think it's possible to simultaneously feel sorry for any juror on a long and harrowing murder trial AND think it's an absolute travesty and disgrace that they'd ask for even more time off during deliberations (and that they'd get it - back on Tuesday). Sympathy with the parents of the babies right now - nobody else.

It was interesting to see a bit more mainstream reporting of the majority verdict news today.. it seems like we might be gearing up for an absolute explosion in the press when the verdict does come in
it will explode. And it will be bizarre for us seeing it mainstream everywhere and everyone around us finally talking about it (and having an opinion!) when they’ve not been interested the past ten months.

And this will happen even if she’s found not guilty on every charge. Because then it will be all about an ‘innocent’ person being on remand for three years, especially following the recent news story of the guy who had his rape conviction overturned, and the lengthy trial, and how will she rebuild her life, what questions do COCH have to answer etc. and amongst it all I think the babies would be forgotten (if she is found NG) ☹

I randomly chuckle to myself at the fact we always say this is one of the funniest threads. I know I said it before but imagine telling someone outside the threads. ' if you fancy a laugh go onto the thread about multiple babies being murdered ' wtf 😂😂😂😂

Really late to the party and prob won’t have time to catch up, so I’m just jumping back in here, I’m sure there’s been loads of discussion on the discharge of juror, and the appointments for next week. There was a really good post by someone at the end of the last thread saying why they felt sorry for the jury. Whilst I agree with everything that was said in that post, I personally have this feeling of doom with the jury that I can’t shake. If that evil bitch gets away with even one charge, I personally feel it will be the biggest miscarriage of justice ever in the uk, and will lose all faith in the legal system. My opinion means nothing and if that’s what the jury decide then that’s just how it will be, and we will have to accept it. I hope I’m wrong but I’m losing the faith with this day by day 😩

I think she’s guilty of them all and more, the situations of the babies are too similar, there’s no anomalies, no random events that cast a shred of doubt to me. But I don’t think they’ll find her guilty of every single charge unfortunately
Definitely. Honestly some are absolutely clear cut and I accept others are harder but this is why it’s so important that they follow the judges directions and use each incident to inform others. They don’t have to prove what happened medically, what she exactly did but ffs babies don’t cardiac arrest out of nowhere 😔 exactly like you say, she did it all and more.

Man, this jury!! All my sympathies are with the parents. Am haunted by Baby G's case. Father said before Letby "allegedly" attacked her, baby G was trying to smile when she heard his voice, her eyes trying to track him.
After Letby got her hands on her he knew immediately something had changed. She no longer responded like before because Letby had fucking given her catastrophic
brain damage.
If don't have a lot of faith in this jury. They really should've returned a guilty verdict by now. 😪

It will all be fine … she’s going down.
Have faith 🩷
100% she’s going down. And I think forever. I hope that is a comfort at least to all the families, even if some babies don’t get the justice they individually deserve. Crying shame but she’s not walking from this. It won’t be long and there’ll be some outrageous details for sure, shut up all the little pricks on FB wishing her a new identity and a cat sanctuary 😑

@A mega Pint Have you done your walk yet?
🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️ Indeed I did, 40 mins I’ll have you know! 💕💕💕I am here catching up on the thread, voted unsure because I feel there will be absences next week. I’ve fecking getting the nervy butterflies the longer this goes on 😬and my hair will be lost and grown back to my ankles at this rate!! 😂😂😂😂😂I did think it would take time but all the absences is really extending it!! If we are on edge, it must be hell for the families.

Anyway proof I did the walk below, but I have to let ye know I was dreaming last night that it was pissing rain so I didn’t want to do the walk and I was trying to think of excuses to give ye for missing it, was so glad when I woke up and did t have to make a confession to you all! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Photo of my daughters backpack with the kitten in it, for end of walk time, Edited to add the time I finished was 14.51, the fe king photo didn’t say the time.

OT, but I see that absolute monster Ian Watkins got stabbed in prison and is in hospital where his injuries are described as life threatening.
I hope they've "forgotten" to give him pain relief.
