Said this a few weeks ago also, but the longer this goes on the more I feel it's likely she will actually get away with this.
Everyone knows she's guilty.
But was it proven beyond all reasonable doubt?
The whole case was built on circumstantial evidence alone and I don't know if it's enough.
No one witnessed her physically harm any baby, nothing caught on camera etc.
Yes she was seem hovering around babies in distress but no one actually witnessed her 'in the act'.
While there is plenty of medical evidence from post mortems of the injuries to the babies, similarities etc, there is no DNA evidence (LL DNA) like you would have in most murder cases.
It's very difficult I think.
Also I don't know if an unhinged rambling doodle half-confession on a sheet of paper from a 'mentally unstable' woman seemingly in the throws of desperation with PTSD as she claims is enough for a conviction.
I feel the prosecution focused too much on the handover sheets being kept also.
Anyone in the medical profession knows that while it is wrong and a breach in confidentiality, many nurses bring home handover sheets by mistake or let them build up in their handbags etc before shredding- I don't think this is ok but it does happen very regularly.
I know I think she is 100% a sick sadistic serial killer but I don't know if they proved that in court.
I think the hospital need to take a lot of the responsibility here aswell.
They failed those babies so much.
She should have been removed from her post as soon as concerns were raised and a pattern was emerging.
The hospital managers allowed many of the harm done to these babies to happen by not acting swiftly enough or contacting police.
I hope they reach a guilty verdict for the poor babies and their families, and maybe I am totally wrong - I hope I am but that's just my thoughts.....
i struggle to see what people want in terms of evidence. Imagine your child that you thought was doing well suddenly died in these circumstances and then a plethora of medical experts concluded your child was murdered, then it turned out there were another 25 suspicious incidents where 6 other babies unexpectedly died, and another 10 unexpectedly collapsed, in mostly similar circumstances over a very small time period. All this happens and there is one person present at every incident. And then you later found out that person searched you and every other parent on Facebook had paper work with you or your child’s name on and also wrote a note saying “I killed them on purpose” reasonable doubt is out the window, people go to jail for murder without a body in some cases. Here we’ve got 7 murders and zero defence if you don’t think she did it at this point imo you lack comprehension skills or just choose to ignore the facts

Gossy says it’s for good reason again. Guess we have to trust his judgement but I do really struggle to see how it came to this point again! Hey ho at least they didn’t find out at 10:31 Monday morning as per 😬View attachment 2356690
They're all off to dismissed juror's wedding at the weekend and need the hangover day. Goss, BM & BNE are going too. LL assumed she was invited but found out she wasn't and is fuming.

This life sometimes, one of my daughter's has been taken to hospital, she's been ill since last Thursday and is getting worse, 111 were going to send an ambulance but it was quicker for my SIL to take her himself. I'm sat just waiting for news.

Did a course in Law yesterday (Online-Fast track). Anyway I'm a fountain of all knowledge now and you lot can forget my old titles, I now go by Chief Law and Procedures officer....or CLAP for short!

So I'm going to talk you through this week in court.

Tuesday: They return (one of them has a lovely new haircut, who knew perms were in again?) and deliberations continue....

Wednesday: They all make it in (yes really, I'm not joking) and they continue deliberations.

Thursday: In the morning it BAU, or business as usual as us Lawyers like to call it but in the afternoon....well Thursday afternoon is when they reach their verdict.

Friday: A very sexy Lawyer gets on a plane and heads to the sun knowing that justice has prevailed.

It's coming isn't it?

So what if they can't reach a majority? Oh god, I wanted him to say they could have a majority but now they've got a majority I'm concerned what will happen if they don't reach a majority 🙈

It is a step forward though folks. Thinking about all those parents right now and just hoping that all have them have someone to give them a hug and some strength to get them through ❤

been lurking on the threads for a good few months - in all honesty i don't know enough about the cases individually but needed to reassure myself that other people thought she was guilty as sin too. i'm an only child but would've had twin siblings (4yrs older) who died at two hours old after being born prematurely. this was 25 years ago so had much less chance of survival than they would've done now and not a case of hospital failings once born, but i really hope these families get justice. knowing how affected my parents obviously still are to this day is heart breaking, but it must be on another level for them knowing it could've turned out so differently if this one person wasn't involved in their care. the cow deserves everything that's coming to her.

also really appreciate how focussed but joyous everyone on this thread has been, it's so lovely to see a proper community with the same goal but not letting it consume and put a dampener on everyday conversation. hope there's a verdict soon🤞

I think she’s guilty of them all and more, the situations of the babies are too similar, there’s no anomalies, no random events that cast a shred of doubt to me. But I don’t think they’ll find her guilty of every single charge unfortunately

I’ve voted no, and I hate to say this but I think it’s looking likely she’ll walk.
My reasoning,

I think at least 1 juror thinks NG on all, because I can’t fathom how anyone could believe shes G of some but not all, a serial killer is a serial killer, even if the evidence is sketchy on some charges, thinking about it rationally, even if they aren’t sure of some charges but are sure LL has harmed babies, the likeliness of doing it multiple times is huge.

And even averaging out 3.5 hours of deliberating per baby,I don’t think they will actually be doing that, for the same reasons above, you don’t need 3.5 hours to deliberate if you already know she’s a SK, if she’s done it twice, shes definitely done it more times.

And this might be unpopular and a bit sexist, but I think the NG juror is a man, simply because, I don’t believe a woman could question the evidence from baby es mummy, but, and I’m projecting here, blokes can be a bit fickle when it comes to a woman’s memory.

My heart tells me she’s guilty of all and more, my head tell me she’s walking out with a new identity and witness protection, which is scary, she’ll have a clean dbs and free to do whatever the duck she likes, life experiences have made me a tad cynical and bitter though.
I think you may have been overthinking this completely. I get it, its very emotive and we all just want justice for the wee babies and their families. The thought that justice won't be served is terrifying but she just needs to be found guilty of one murder charge to be put away. You don't have any more information than any of us so the scenario you've created in your mind could be completely inaccurate.

Even if one of the jurors is being difficult that still doesn't mean she will walk away, I think the judge will step in and allow majority, otherwise what would be the point in the majority system if it wasn't used in critical cases?

Also, there's several men on this thread who absolutely understand us mums and know that there's no way baby Es mum was lying, so a little unfair to write them off.

That evil bitch will not be walking away from this and if by some miracle she does...she will be ripped to shreds.

Completely agree & I'm heartbroken about it.
Don't be heartbroken by something that hasn't happened yet.

Come on guys let's have some positivity and some faith!

I think we all just need to take a deep breath and calm down. I could understand people getting worried if it was just one overall charge but it’s 22 INDIVIDUAL charges. So even if they reach a guilty verdict on some and the rest not guilty or hung jury the whole trial won’t collapse- she will still be sentenced on the guilty charges. For all we know they could have reached a verdict on all but a couple and he’s willing to now accept a majority on those.
Come on fellas let’s be glass half full people.

I’d also like to add if you’re starting to doubt the Jury you’re doubting BNE and then you’d have @DellaC after you

I wish the jury had a progress tracker like Amazon delivery does. This thought came to me as I'm waiting for a delivery and have just checked when it's expected. 2.30 - 4.30 if anyone's interested.
