So have they increased the school holidays to 6 weeks in summer, or decreased it to 6 weeks? Why do you oppose it? We have children home from the first week of June till the 3rd or 4th week of August in our area. Some states have school all year with a few breaks spread out. The children (and teachers!) love having the whole summer off so much - I know I always did. I realize some children suffer through it when their home lives are lacking, and that is heartbreaking to even think about, but there are programs available for them. There are free lunches and summer schools for low income children in most places that need them.

@A mega Pint, Beannacht Dé oraibh!
It’s always been six weeks in England. My son has just finished his reception (first) year so it’s our first proper summer holidays when he’s used to five days a week at school. He has complex needs so it’s hard to find activities to do that he’ll enjoy. And it’s just me as a single mum. I just don’t have the same resources and capacity as they do at school to keep him stimulated although I think he’s welcoming the chill time. So it’s a long break. I think I’d prefer 3-4 weeks. We do have a holiday coming up soon which will break the six weeks up at least.

it hasn’t helped it’s rained every single day too! ☔

I'm in bed, shivering and feeling a bit shitty...little man has just come in with his tablet full blast playing 5 little monkeys and bouncing all over my bed.

In this situation is it appropriate to throw the fucking tablet through the window? 😂😂😂

I think someone has already said this but perhaps the juror with the serious issue that had to leave yesterday had initially thought they’d be allowed 1 week off for a treatment and then recovery (could easily need another op or similar!). So the others at the time thought ‘right we know juror 8 needs to be off then, going to book in a few things’ and then found out yesterday that juror 8 was actually advised/decided not to continue because of concerns for their health and so they’ve tried to wangle it with JG reg the appointments but it’s a nope. Hope they can rearrange or get it done today!!!

Worst thing is instead of cracking on with deliberations this morning, 3 of them are now fucking about re-arranging appointments

I know they are in a difficult position, but this beggars belief really. Would anyone here really hand up a note requesting time off for an appointment if they were on the jury and deliberations were running on longer than expected? There is no way I would. I would just cancel and reschedule without having to involve Goss. He must be fit to explode at this point. The parents are traipsing in and out every day too waiting to hear if they will get justice for their little babies lives and these lot want to get a haircut or something? Piss off. They agreed they can make the commitment when they were sworn in. Shit or get off the pot lads.

Judge Goss sounds so kind and composed. Think I fancy him 🥰 🍆

The families must feel like their 'bad luck' (to put it mildly) will never end. To have a baby born too soon or poorly, to then have that baby (against the odds) die, to then find out that precious tiny baby has possibly been murdered and could have survived, then for it to take years to bring the person suspected of murder to court, then for the trial to take an unimaginably long time (with loads of starts, stops, breaks), to finally get to deliberations and be landed with a jury with problems, delays, no-shows, longest time ever to deliberate and now who all want to fuck about at their 'appointments' next week instead of taking their responsibility to your little baby's life seriously. I'm so gutted for them.

It sounds to me like judge Goss is absolutely fed up with them. Your not at school jurors like when your Mam sends you with a note to get out of P. E. FFS

The lack of concern for the families is worrying. I understand they need appointments and I do feel sorry for the jury its a long time to have your life on hold and commiting to it would be so hard for me but we are at the last stage . Yet 3 of them in one week not seeing the impact this will have on family members of the babies is worrying

Is rampton much better than regular prison? Surely you're more restricted in rampton? I am basing all my prison knowledge on prisoner cell block H and bad girls.

Jury are still deliberating. We are still passing the time.

Last thread, where we discussed icks, snail sex, Cheggers (RIP) and cum bushes.

Last poll. I’ll think up a new one in a mo.

Again I think that attitude is at best misunderstanding and at worst an actual bias against premature babies. Imagine an adult patient in intensive care on full ventilation and their tube is dislodged and a nurse standing over them whilst they desaturate. This wasn’t a controlled thing where a decision had been made by doctors to see if baby could have their assistance reduced etc. It was her sick game.
---
ETA that’s before you factor in that the alarm should have sounded. That it then kept happening despite baby being tiny and sedated. Proven that she was the only one there with baby when those happened. And of course all the other strange and sudden problems whenever she’s around! Plus Facebook searching this baby’s parents two years later, with no handover to check and having barely spent any time with this poor baby a part from of course her serious desaturations.

Yeah it's not gonna be today, is it? Doubt it'll be tomorrow. These jurors seems like tossers and I don't care who gives me the side eye for saying so.
I feel sorry for them because one minute they were minding their own business getting on with their life and the next a letter came in the post saying 'you've been selected for Jury Duty' and it's been downhill ever since for them. I suppose even the most philosophical person who is proud to serve the justice system and ensure the right thing is done has worn a bit thin by now. I can't imagine the level of distress as well as inconvenience plus the psychological pressure not to mention being with a group of people who could potentially drive you bonkers. Hey well that's just me LOL
