I think if there's even one mum on that jury - she will be able to tell the others how implausible it is that mum of E misremembered bathing her child or what time the feeds were, esp since it was the last ever feed scheduled before her baby died...

Everything else then gets judged with the knowledge that LL is a scummy, dirty liar and everything she has said is tainted.

Right well I’m taking no notice of any new fellas that are saying anything about the humour on this thread, we all know the craic here. And so have still created my fantasy casting for the documentaries to come (obviously all of which will DEFINITELY have a “Dance the Dance” part included). Don’t worry LittleMy you don’t have to be the bearer of bad news again today, I know there’s one actor (the best baddie ever, which is obvs why he’d be playing Bowel Movement) sadly no longer with us and I know Jodie isn’t plain enough, but just think Charlize Theron and Wuornos for her. There also seem to be mixed feelings for Dr Jaryram so I obviously went for Dev, cos he kinda loves himself but is still a great guy. Personally all the gang of 4 are hero’s to me and were integral in stopping LL from harming even more babies

And back to being serious now, @MmmB777 I still don’t really know how to explain how I’m feeling, it’s like we waited this long, and now it’s all in the hands of 12 people to do the right thing, and I sort of just feel drained also after 9 months of sometimes very intense discussions on here, we are finally at the end. I can’t imagine how The families/COCH staff/the police/BNE etc are feeling right now either. It’s so tense today, I don’t know if them requesting the summing up is a good thing or a bad thing, I’m rubbish at trying to interpret things like that. I voted that the jury would come back with verdicts tomorrow, but that was deffo wishful thinking on my part I think, I don’t think we will get anything back before Friday at the earliest, realistically. I still think we will get guilty on all unanimously, but I hope for the parents they don’t come back with the verdicts in dribs and drabs like they did for BA, that would be even more nerve wracking for the families I think. How are you feeling about it all? In all honesty I’ve been feeling really weird since the day we found out the only defence witness was the plumber, it absolutely floored me. I don’t have as much free time atm either, so unfortunately if I am unable to keep up with the thread, then im having to just skip huge chunks so have probably missed loads on here which is not ideal either. I dread to think how much the thread will explode once the verdicts are in. Also last thing was really good to see Nosy’s pap pics of the paps, the fact they’re setting up outside to camp out to me speaks volumes, they know she’s going down for this. And also with her now becoming the worst child serial killer in the UK, the media attention is going to be huge, it’s always stayed with me the DM podcast girls saying it’s going to be the biggest trial of their careers

Can't help but think it's going to be long time until a verdict comes...there's a lot of evidence to go through!

Interested to know whether the length of time a jury takes can affect appeals in the future? Say they came back tomorrow with a guilty verdict, would there be grounds for an appeal if the defence didn't feel the jury took due care and attention to consider all evidence? Obviously the flip side is that they heard all they needed to during the trial but just wondering if it's better they take a while?

I don’t think so. A blog I shared the other day a barrister said the quickest verdict returned in trials he was involved in was six minutes. they just have to go through the flow of questions the judge gave them and if they are all in agreement from the start then there is nothing to deliberate.

and juries don’t have to justify their decisions either. They aren’t even allowed to disclose to anyone else what was discussed during deliberations - ever!

Can you also imagine how the police are feeling right now (of course the families come first, then us ) working on a case for years, 100s of hours of piecing together your case, 100s of interviews, documents, back and forth with the CPS and then entrusting your case with a legal team (who have done a wonderful job) and now sitting with 12 members of the public

Did you see the Police Officer on the news last week, she was giving a press conference about the horrific incident in Wimbledon and was clearly very upset by it, I just wanted to give her a hug.

It got me thinking about the officers involved in this case, the ones that have supported the parents, that have worked tirelessly to get every single scrap of evidence to secure the monster gets convicted. It must be the case of a lifetime for them and I hope they get some recognition when she's convicted.

I’ve voted guilty on all counts unanimously. The jury have heard all of the evidence in far more detail, seen all of the testimony in person and have soaked up the atmosphere of the courtroom and lived and breathed this case for the last 9 months. There won’t be any Facebook fantasist types represented on there I’m sure of that. They are too far removed from the reality of this case.

There are a couple of charges where there could be reasonable doubt if they were looked at in isolation but the judge has directed them not to. They can be reasonably sure that if LL is guilty of murdering and attempting to murder some of the babies, then she is also guilty of the weaker cases because it is far more probable than improbable.

I will be shocked if she is found not guilty of any of the charges.

I’ve followed this thread and the trial since the beginning. As a healthcare professional, this one hits hard. In my honest opinion and from working in an acute hospital setting for 6+ years I honestly still don’t know where my opinions lie. Obviously something has gone seriously wrong however I have known cases where nurses are thrown under the bus to cover for Drs mistakes. Is anyone else still on the fence?

The scapegoat theory is beyond stupid. I mean what do they think went down?

'We're sorry your baby died, turns out it was hospital negligence and incompetence. Of course we don't want anyone to find that out so we're gonna blame one of the nurses instead. All you have to do is say you walked in to find your child screaming with blood on there face and Letby standing there doing nothing. You in? You are?!? Cheers!'.
