His comments are out of order. Really distressing for people to read especially anyone currently pregnant.
My 22 year old was born at 31+4 weeks and was in NICU and SCBU for 5 weeks - luckily his only real issue was waiting for his suck reflex to kick in exacerbated by my determination to breastfeed
Does anyone know when closing statements are? And which court is it at? As there are two in Manchester aren’t there? Just thinking of getting the train over as it’s only just over an hour to Manchester on the train from me.

I’m glad that the jury seem to be allowed to take into account general behaviour. And I hope there is at least one juror with enough experience to highlight some of the points I’ve not seen brought up in reporting (of course, they could have been brought up and not reported as we all know) and one of them is aspects of her behaviour.
The Facebook fan club like to point out that none of the parents, or other people who’ve met her at work have ever commented on her behaving inappropriately. But particularly in the parents cases - they simply weren’t aware of some of the more concerning aspects. I’ve said from the start, the way she behaves over one of the babies brought up earlier in the trial, breaking down and insisting she be with another baby/needed to see another baby in that cot to help her get over it, was a massive red flag, and if my baby had been on that ward, and I witnessed some of her behaviour that’s has now been described, I would not be comfortable leaving my baby alone, and would have demanded a transfer.
That is not the only example but off the top of my head at nearly half 2 in the morning it’s the only one I’m going to go into - it’s not bleeping normal. Yes, nurses are human. Yes they have emotion. But in that role, if you are effected to that extent then you go to your manager and you tell them “this has hit me hard, I need some time off/different role for a while/counselling”. You also speak to your doctor. It won’t be held against you, as it’s the right thing to do. You don’t use other babies or try to alter the running of the unit to alleviate your emotions.

Delphi murders (US trial though not UK, been following that since 2017) that is going to be massive in America. Also the Idaho student murders but I feel like that will drag on and on for quite some time yet before trial.First we have all the post-verdict trash talk that will come out “Lucy Letby pinched me in reception” to get through.. then maybe we need a new trial? Constance Marten and Mark Gordon on 2 January? Artistocrat and homeless rapist who run away together to avoid social services and let their newborn die

I do feel like even if there was something like CCTV of her doing it the pro-Lucy club would say some bull like it was a deep fake.
I have been struggling to keep up with this thread lately so I'm just going leave it for awhile. I have some health issues which I need to get to the bottom of and honestly I'm just too anxious about it all to handle this trial at the moment. I hope to dip back in when the verdict is in. 🩷
If I don't, I just want to take the opportunity to say this has been the best online community I have been part of. The knowledge, the insights and most importantly the empathy in the face utter evil has made this horrific trial easier to follow and process.

I think apart from the physical injuries she caused, absolutely people would still defend it. There was a case of a male nurse killing by air embolism recently. He was caught on cctv going into the rooms just before the machines alarmed and the patient crashed. He was caught on camera holding a syringe in one shot. But his defence was he was a nurse going in to give treatment.
A syringe with air in, in a hospital, is an incredibly discrete murder weapon isn’t it.
The jury took an hour to return the guilty verdict and he then got the death sentence.

I worked with this guy and he was so normal. It wasn’t even a case of when it all came out we all thought omg we can see it now, worked with his wife also who was lovely and normal. I made him a cup of tea once and turned out just before he’d been attacking a patient we’d earlier sent to the mortuary. Don’t think I’ll ever get over it. Letby also reminds me of him. Completely devoid of any emotion unless it’s to feel sorry for themselves.
I think it’s interesting that in most of her WhatsApp messages she asks about the parents, I’m starting to believe that’s her motive, the gratification she gets from the distraught parents and being in a position of playing god, she truly believes she’s better than everyone. I noticed in one message the other person says ‘you are really great nurse’ and she replied with ‘I know’. I think most people tend to reply something modest.

How interesting. The police interview was all about him. I hadn’t realised they couldn’t bring the info about his offences in the morgue into the initial trail about the murders. Which made me think that this will possibly be similar in this trial. Horrible stuff for all involved.
He also searched up his victims and/or their families on Facebook.
Started watching the Bev Allit tapes yesterday, the clip of her saying how much nursing means to her knocked me sick, same as LL theyre obsessed with being a nurse it's their whole life.
