She couldn’t remember “this baby” at all in her police interview (how this fits in with her “it never leaves you” narrative I don’t know) and yet she remembers details now? Like she’d assessed the baby as being hungry and rooting when the other nurse says it was this awful crying she had been making earlier. I remember from the wiki AH was so scared it meant baby was going to collapse again because it was the same horrible cry and letby said no she’ll settle and within a short time baby was dead.

Didn't recall her yet wrote the family a sympathy card that she kept on her phone. Pull the other one, Letby.

It was so important she sent that card because she had a good relationship with the family and in her words it wasn’t often you got to know a family so well. Yet she couldn’t remember anything about “this baby” to police? I wonder why. When “this baby” only had problems when around letby. She is truly evil!

I’m finding the case harder to follow since NJ () started his questioning of her and I’m really struggling to put in to words why. When the prosecution were outlining the case it came across a lot like LL was having tantrums and acting out when she was attacking these precious babies and yes that was still murder/attempted murder but it was more like it was an out of control moment. But it’s becoming clearer every day how this was planned, she knew exactly what she was doing. She went to great lengths to frame others, falsify paperwork, target babies or families. None of it was a snap moment, she was fully in control every single time. She is evil to the core. I’ve followed countless court cases including loads of cases where children and babies have been murdered and although they’ve made me sad I’ve managed to detach somewhat from the emotion and focused on the facts of each case. But this is a whole other level. My heart truly aches for those families. I can’t comprehend why anybody would do this.

It's just such a morbid thing to say while you're washing the body of a dead baby. And I'm not a mother but I can't imagine it's what Child I's mum wanted to hear: she was never going to get to take her daughter home and bathe her ever again.

It's also someone else doing something for your baby that you didn't get to do. I remember when my daughter was in NICU and I was still chained to my bed down on the ward after a csection (literally, I had a catheter) and my husband was able to be with our baby and texted me that he'd done the nappy and tube feeding. I called my sister in law in tears that i was missing out - I was happy for my husband of course, but sad for myself. I can't imagine how irrationally jealous I would be about a first bath and a stranger bragging to me about it whilst my baby was laying dead. It's cruel tbh.

I went over to the LL Facebook group yesterday and a lot of the people who have been to the trial have said they were open minded but when they saw and heard her they were absolutely convinced she did it. And they remarked how completely different she looks to any press photos. Not the sweet, innocent poster-girl we've seen in the news. Also the questions aren't answered quickly as it seems in the reporting, she takes ages answering and has to flick through the huge folders of notes before replying sometimes.

They mentioned how broken her parents look which I find so sad and it got me thinking. At the age of 43 I can't even admit to my Mum that I smoke occasionally, she would be horrified and I don't want her to think badly of me and I've been shit scared of my parents disapproval well into adult life! I wonder if LL will never admit guilt partly because she can't ever admit to her parents she did it and therefore lose the part of herself that is "perfect Lucy" who is loved and idolised.

I do wonder if the penny is slowly dropping for them now. It breaks my heart to see them walking into court with all those cameras in their face..it must be so frightening.

If LL hadn't seen one at COCH but ND had experience I honestly think this smacks of jealousy and sabotage again. She kills them on purpose because she's not good enough to take care of them.

Wow, missed this additional detail of why she didn't attack child J the following night. I love that the idiot actually asked this question herself and inadvertently PROVED NJ's theory that she only strikes when the parents are away.

He must be delighted she fell for it!!

Has seeing everything in person changed your opinion / views on the case at all? It’s so hard to gauge what’s actually happening without hearing tone of voice and seeing facial expressions etc!

It’s opened my eyes to how much information there is that doesn’t come across in the life reporting (No fault with them there is just so much)

Lucy is well spoken & looks completely different from the media pictures, she to me didn’t come across as cocky (only there an afternoon though) but very nervous her eyes constantly going from side to side which is a sign of lying but looked like a nervous twitch.

My opinions views haven’t changed she has definitely been involved in some of these babies.

Just really feel for the people coming out of court as they looked broken.

I look after mums whose baby's are on NNU. I sit with them as they sob over not being with their baby, help them painstakingly hand express colostrum into a syringe. I wheel them down on a bed or in a wheelchair so they can sit next to their baby and see all those tiny babies in their incubators and cots. Our NNU nurses are amazing, I cannot fathom how any one could step foot on a NNU and decide to hurt a baby (I can't imagine it for any ward, neonates, paeds or adults!).
I read earlier someone posted that you hand them your heart when your baby is in NNU and you do, your baby is a piece of your heart outside your body and I hope she is found guilty and given a whole life order. Those poor babies, they would have more than likely gone on to live normal, happy lives. NNU care is so advanced these days.
I'm actually glad this isn't a massive court case in the news, imagine having your baby in NNU now and seeing this splashed all over the news. Barely anyone in my work has heard of it!

Can you imagine how hard this must be for the parents of babies N to Q, to listen to all this evidence from 13 babies that Letby wasn't safe and then have her care/attack for your precious babies. They must be so angry with the hospital for not stopping her.

I’m sorry but no and poor BelindaS who has to read this shite.

I feel angry for Belinda S for being compared with this evil bitch in terms of having the opportunity to have poisoned the baby with insulin. Also Ashleigh Simpson who the evil bitch said might have overfed the other baby causing the vomiting (and whilst the baby survived is brain damaged). I feel angry for Nicola Morrison, the band 4 who the evil bitch intimated she didn't have the experience to care for the stoma baby. I feel angry for Sophie Ellis who the evil bitch said wasn't experienced enough to care for babies in nursery 1. In fact I feel sorry for all the doctors, consultants and nurses who she tried to put down by throwing them under the buses. It seems in the evil bitch's not so humble opinion all the consultants and nurses were incompetent and only the evil bitch was good enough although her own handwritten note said she was evil and not good enough so I feel justified in calling her an evil bitch because she's called herself this.

@LilyRose1234 (hope I've tagged the right one, it's a popular name) could you please shed any light on what might be happening and the process of getting rid of a shitty juror?

I’m honestly not sure! It’s not something that’s ever happened in my experience so I’m not sure how it works in practice, although it can be done.

I’m not surprised by the delays, and as awful as it must be for the parents, I don’t find it particularly unusual as the court sitting day is relatively short so even something minor can cause the court to just not sit for the day. You’ve got 12 jurors, legal teams, the judge, witnesses when they’re giving evidence, that’s a lot of people who need to be in one room at the same time. Rail strikes, illnesses, last minute unavoidable caring needs for kids etc who are off sick/school closed for teacher strikes, bereavements, all these things mean court won’t sit. I’ve had trials delayed because prison vans haven’t turned up on time with the defendant (although that doesn’t seem to have happened here), jurors sent home because of concerns about weather they wouldn’t concentrate, days of legal arguments etc. Running a trial of this size and length involves an extraordinary amount of people, and getting that many people in one place at the same time for such a long time can be very difficult.

So that’s a long winded way of saying I don’t think the delays are insane but it did sound yesterday like there may be issues with a juror, so it could be they’re resolving that today, which would put a different spin if the delays are always for one person.
