I was SA’d as a child. It fucked me up in many ways but fortunately I didn’t turn to murdering innocent babies.
Bloody hell my little love, I am so sorry you went through that. We can't help what happens to us as children and I'm sure that your experience has impacted aspects of your life but you came through the shit and here you are. Funny, kind, caring and insightful. We bloody love you (even when you're drinking alcopops at 11am 😉😉) xx

Anyone new to the thread or just popping in, it descends into absolute chaos from about 2pm on a Friday, we like to “lighten” the mood given the horrendous upsetting case we discuss in the week. Buckle up for 10 inch dildos, Prosecco sparkles and every form of beige you can think of, and sometimes wild story’s with DR NN … turns out … not a nice fella after all.

I just don't understand how she can lie so much... it's coming across as really weird to me.... maybe it's just the reporting because it's coming across quite childlike... you know when you catch your 3 year old eating a bag of buttons before dinner and they flat out say "daddy said I could have them" while he's standing right and can very quickly counter what they have just told you with the truth. (Sorry terrible analogy, I'm wrecked 🥱😪).

Does she believe she's so convincing people won't question the obvious plot holes in her stories??

She strikes me as a datix queen , we all have one person on a ward who writes the most pathetic reports for human errors that aren't even massive things.
Would be interesting to see if she did datix reports for other smaller things , would show glaringly her omitting this is questionable.

To be fair, the defence have done a good job so far of showing that these babies *did* suffer other sudden desaturations and require assistance *when LL wasn’t there*.
It does muddy the waters somewhat though because if they were all in constant contact then she’d know which babies were causing concerns, so she’d know which ones may well go ‘unnoticed’ for want of a better phrase.

Even if it’s viable that she’s brought stuff home by mistake, does she not wash her clothes? Cos you’d notice stuff in your pockets. It’s not the fact she’s took them home for me, it’s the fact she’s kept them at home. You’d take them back to the hospital or at least dispose of them

Taking a photo of a card you've sent to someone else suggests you're sending it for your own reasons and not for that person. Sure its just my thoughts and not saying I think that's what she was thinking, but it is very strange.

I found it heartbreaking today when they were going through all the events of baby I. You could tell how hard she fought to stay alive.

I don’t know why the defence are trying to get people to focus on babies being unwell when Letby wasn’t around. They were in special care for a reason, they wouldn’t only be poorly when she was there. The case has been brought because the incidents when she was there were unexpected and not explainable when independently reviewed 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think if she was genuinely innocent there would be no glossing over etc, stories would match up and be consistent. She’s just showing herself to be a liar and her defence for me is doing the opposite of what it should be doing

Not sure if this has been shared before, but I was reading a Psychology today article that was talking about LL being up on charges and was about HCSK’s in general too. Here is the link for anyone interested: https://www.psychologytoday.com/gb/.../nurses-who-kill-babies-exploit-systems-trust

Found this paragraph talking about another nurse child serial killer particularly interesting as it seems oh so familiar (actually most of the article seems familiar too tbf):

Also kinda getting sick of listening to LL going on about how busy it is, she literally seems to spend half her shift on her phone 🙄

I’m going to have to catchup, but it’s interesting if there is hard swipe data that shows she wasn’t there, and yet it’s being disregarded from those who feel she is guilty. If the swipe data showed she *was* there, it wouldn’t be disregarded, so why the opposite? I find that really interesting. As I say I haven’t caught up so if I’ve misunderstood the evidence my apologies.
because it doesn’t show she wasn’t there. The baby collapses at 1am. The swipe data of her entering the unit was 1.15am. What time did she leave the unit (because she was already on shift)? How long was she gone for? Where did she go?

It doesn’t prove she was not on the unit at 1am. She still has no alibi for 1am. She could have literally just gone to the door and swiped the card and never left the unit at all.

I can’t answer your reverse question because I don’t think we have an example in evidence. It’s not an all or nothing decision that swipe data is credible / not credible. It’s how it fits with the timings of any other evidence on that shift.

I'm sure the parents are being thoroughly supported and prepared but just imagine having your baby murdered and the person responsible getting off? I just can't.

Would convictions for others help ease that pain do we think? The knowledge that she'll never do it again? That she's recognised as a murderer?

The pressure on the prosecution must be huge.
I think if I had a baby involved and she got off the charge against my baby but was connvicted of others I would be very unhappy and feel justice had not been served for my baby.

BM can only work with what he's got at the end of the day I suppose. A good defence lawyer isn't one who secures the most not guilty verdicts, but one who helps to uphold a fair trial and support the ethos of the justice system- which he is doing I guess.

Playing devil's advocate here... If you took my phone away and put me in prison and questioned me about events and messages from 6/7 years I wonder how accurate my answers would be. Even my memory of my daughter desaturating in scbu 4 years ago. I couldn't tell you precise details other than feeling immense panic. Obviously it was my daughter and emotions and hormones and lack of sleep and she was okay after increasing oxygen in the incubator literally a consultant touching a button. but after two days I stopped even registering midwifes and nurses names they changed every 8 hours. I don't know how much a nurse could be expected to remember. However in saying that, I also have a higher expectation that if you witnessed a child's death and had responsibility for their care, you would go over the details more and remember. Do you remember details from messages and critical events in 2016/7? Is there something wrong with me?
I can remember the names of the bereaved parents and babies that I have cared for over the past 13 years. I can remember exactly what happened during those shifts. Ask me who I worked with last week and you'll be met with a blank look. Traumatic shifts stay with you (when they shouldn't happen). I can imagine they stay with you moreso when you're actively killing them.

Suspected murderers do not get invited to the station for an interview. That doors comin off whether it’s yours, your mums or your uncles best mates hamsters 3rd cousin

If they’d have sent a text saying “Hi Lucy do u mind coming in for an interview on xyz at 3pm?” She could’ve easily wiped her phone or laptop or tablet, put the shredder to good use and spoke to a solicitor in good time to get her story straight.

I’m going to say that I think that BM is actually strategising anything here. LL has asked to go on the stand as is her right, and probably thinks she’s clever. BM has had to allow her.

She’s going against evidence that are agreed facts with the nursery one. Dead giveaway this isn’t strategic!
