thinking about the parents today. I can’t imagine how they will feel if she takes the stand. Look at the nervous anticipation we are all feeling. It must be off the scale for parents .

Does she have to be first up in defence? Meaning if it’s not her today Is that it she won’t take stand ?

Just re: parents giving evidence...I didn't think that witnesses could sit in court and watch until after they have given their evidence. Once they are dismissed they can sit in, but not before as it gives time to tailor responses to fit what they have heard?

Might be wrong though, not sure if anyone is legal in here can confirm

Edit to add...by that, I mean that if they have been sitting in all this time then I assume that means they aren't being called at witnesses

I'm praying to the gods of the 'on call phone' that nothing major comes in today! 🙏
I've got my snacks ready and everything 🫖☕

Currently rushing around making lunch to go in the fridge for later, getting the washing sorted etc so I’m free for the whole day. If she doesn’t take the stand now I’m going to be bored stiff having done a days worth of jobs in the past hour 😂

Don’t forget BM will cross examine her first so she is eased in gently sadly.
If she does give evidence that is …
The nearer it gets to it the more I am unsure she will now 😩

Did the defence wrap up their evidence with a summary? Or do they do that at the very end? I can’t remember how it worked with other trials I’ve followed as I feel I’ve aged a million years since this one started.

They do the closing statements at the end. Prosecution concluded their evidence with a reminder of agreed facts.

Thank you, it feels like the timescales are so ‘off’ but just because it’s lasted so long so far 😓

oh yes. I wonder how long BM will question her for. I imagine it will be brief so she doesn’t trip herself up. Day at the most.

How long does the defence side of the trial last?
It depends really on what witnesses or evidence they want to bring forward. I doubt it’ll last anything near as long as the prosecution though. They really only need to cast doubt on her guilt.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but if the prosecution have concluded their case does that mean they won't be x examining her when she takes the stand?
