I don’t think most people see signs or at least register them. That’s why it’s so surprising to a lot of people when someone they know who “was lovely” is arrested and then convicted of something. The shock of it. I only believe this now because I got what I can only describe as “p@edo vibes” off someone who joined the nursery I sent my son. This vibe was based off nothing, obviously I had no evidence (I’d only ever had small talk passing conversations with her) or any reason to come to this thought in my head…other than it was just a “bad feeling she was one”. 🤯 Then lo and behold she actually bloody was one! NCA rooted her out from chat rooms! Every other person, all staff and rest of the parents said oh no I can’t believe it she was so nice so good etc etc…and there was me thinking, tit my sixth sense was bloody right. It’s unnerving to know that so many more are walking around right next to us!
For what it’s worth, my sense says LL is guilty as hell. A cold bloodied serial murderer. (Don’t worry if I was on a jury I’d sit and wait for all the evidence).
I’ve said this before, some people can’t see what’s right in front of their nose. I’m a person who usually gets ‘vibes’ off people and I’m usually right. Some people just take everything’s surface value. I’m sure if she’s guilty there were people got a bad feeling from her.

Jesus just thought I’d have a read of this as don’t recall reading it before. Their write up of baby I 😩 the baby is crashing and she tells the nurse not to intervene. It’s incredible reading. Baby I only had this problem around her. She was being bottle fed and in air. It’s truly heartbreaking how many times baby I nearly escaped her. If any fellas have not read this yet, really suggest you do!
i don’t recall reading it all either. I just saw this though. Large quantity sounds like a lot more than just forgetting the odd piece.

Concluding the prosecution opening, which began on Monday, Mr Johnson said: 'I have already told you that the police found a large quantity of hospital paperwork relating to many of the children whose deaths and collapses you are now considering.

At 3.50am, Dr Jayaram was standing at the nurses’ station compiling his notes. Although he did not have a view into Nursery 1, Dr Jayaram was aware the deisngated nurse was not there, a fact backed up by door swipe data. Lucy etby was the only nurse in room 1, alone with Child K.

"Feeling uncomfortable with this because he was beginning to notice the coincidence between the unexplained deaths and serious collapses and the presence of Lucy Letby, Dr Jayaram decided to check on where Lucy Letby was and where Child K was."

"As he walked in, he could see Letby standing over Child K's incubator. He could see Child K's oxygen levels were falling. However, the alarm was not sounding and Lucy Letby was making no effort to help.
Child L

By this time, the prosecution say, Letby was supposed only to be working day shifts because the consultants were concerned about the correlation between her presence and unexpected deaths and life-threatening episodes on the night-shifts.
...
The answers to these levels were found after a lab sample sent to the Royal Liverpool Teaching Hospital laboratory came back with results some time later.
Them sending a C Peptide level off is indicative of a bad feeling on this one IMO. Shes flipped to days based on suspicions from consultants, but she starts staying after shifts on lots of the other cases.

Child O

The doctor was particularly concerned about Child O's death as he was clinically stable before these events, his collapse was so sudden and he did not respond to resuscitation as he should have

After the shift, Letby sent a series of messages to the doctor on Facebook,
LL is starting to become aware of suspicions. From this point on we start seeing more blatant falsified notes. This one has her recording that she fed the child 13 minutes after he died.

Child Q

The proseution say Lucy Letby was "worried" when she got home that night.

She texted a doctor at 10.46pm and asked "do I need to be worried about what Dr G was asking?"

The doctor sought to put her mind at rest and told her that Dr G was only asking to make sure that the normal procedures were carried out.

She replied that after Child Q had collapsed she (LL) had walked into the equipment room and Dr G had been asking the other nurse who was present in the room (when Child Q had collapsed) and how quickly someone had gone to him because she (LL) had not been there.
I suspect there'll be more to come on what Dr G asked, why he felt the need to bring another nurse into an equipment to ask about LL. LL is aware of suspicions.

From my experience it's easier for doctors to see worrying trends with nurses, and nurses to see worrying trends with doctors. Doctors know precisely which nurses they don't want looking after them, and which ones are difficult to handle, and that perception is often different to that of the nurses on the ward. The same is true in reverse, a nurse will spot a tit doctor before other doctors of the same level do. Additionally, doctors talk about their experience with nurses, and nurses talk about their experience doctors, and it's less 'gossipy' because they're not working together on the same team.

I’m reading the prosecutions overview again to try and recap what’s happening. I wonder if some of the unnamed nurses could be somehow related to the babies - possibly aunties etc.
LL asked someone (another nurse I think) about how the parents of one of the babies was doing so one of her colleagues knew that particular family.

I’ve just been watching a documentary about Scottish Law.
The case of Malcolm Webster, a nurse, was highlighted. Seems his conviction was aided by the Moovrov doctrine allowing the admissibility of corroborative similar fact evidence. He killed one, and attempted to kill another, of his wives in a similar fashion.
He was suspected of killing 3 children while working as a nurse in Abu Dhabi. He also feigned having leukaemia to ingratiate himself with his potential 3rd victim eh…wife.
Sorry for the de rail fellas but, a strange not a nice fella!

Killer Vincent Tabaks defence lawyer called him disgusting and said that he would not attempt to justify his actions after he was found guilty of killing Joanna Yates.

Almost makes me think that Letbys hasn’t justified anything she’s been accused of - all he’s done is highlight the hospital failings and deflect but he hasn’t stood there (yet) and said that she didn’t do this although I’m aware this might still come. It’s strange that he hasn’t stuck up for her so far. I think he’s just going through the motions.
Know what you mean, but it's still early in the case and I think that's all he's able to do at this stage. Might be wrong? I can't help wondering if LL's defence believes she's innocent or guilty. It doesn't make a difference to the case, but I'm curious.

We know that some did.

Viewing the evidence chronologically makes it seem more solid imo.

In terms of the Facebook searches, if she's innocent (or indeed guilty) I can see her as the type to have been brought up to be 'perfect' and not want to admit to a nose, to not see much difference in terms of right and wrong between harming a baby and a snoop, or even not realising the seriousness of this and wanting to protect her career. Look at Rebecca Leighton...she was completely exonerated and the real murderer found, but her hospital wouldn't have her back over the stolen medication found at her home.

I used to think the FB searches didn't really point to much. I had missed the specifics about the searches, last thing I saw was them saying yes she searched for lots of fellas.

I do think on balance she's guilty though.

Morning fellas!

Going to work a little annoyed this morning, but haven't had chance to dissect the post on the FB group, so not going to respond until later🙄
Someone has posted a newspaper link stating police were investigating increased deaths at COCH in 2014!!!!!!

LL not mentioned at this point in the article BTW!

The article clearly states ( from what I've taken in so far) that the deaths started in June 2015!!!
They've posted the whole article, including photo of parents and name of baby....💔

The family at the time of the article were obviously searching for answers..so the article is very damning in respect of COCH!!
I'm reading between the lines ( as I say I'm rushing to work and am ten mins late already, but fuming... it shows mentality of some people🤦‍♀️)

Where they have got 2014 from i don't know...but when I've a minute I'm going to read again and " kick off"🙈as, potentially they have shown the parents of the babies who are currently sat in the court going through it all again....all whilst breaching their confidentiality!!

If anyone is on that FB page and has seen it, please put me straight if I've read it wrong!!!!😭😭
Not the best start to the day fellas🥺
the baby named in article is not a baby involved in the case. The article does show there was poor care all around but that doesn’t also mean Lucy has to be innocent. Not sure what to make of the part about the Locum doctor. Tbh what has happened to that baby is unacceptable .

The babies name doesn’t match the 8 names that were released so I think there must have been a reasonable explanation however still horrific

There was a baby girl who died 3 days after leaving the hospital where there was an attempt murder charge but they said she died at home. Was this charge dropped or can someone tell me which letter this baby relates too? X

I never said you did? I was clarifying that I don’t think they were involved in the case so the article posting hasn’t identified anyone from the case. The last names of the parents are different and the babies name is different to the names that were previously released

I don't know if it's because I am used to psychiatry, which may be totally different from other types of hospital medic, but the consultants on our wards didn't spend all that much time there, as they were split across wards. Because of that, something about this case has niggled at me.

The reason I mention it is because where I worked, for one of the consultants to have major concerns about what one of the nursing team was doing to patients (not just that they thought they were lazy or crap or whatever), the nurse would basically have to be leaping up and down waving red flags in front of them.

If it IS the same in medical wards, then I can't help but think that LL must have been less subtle than we think, and maybe the nursing team just couldn't believe it or were scared of saying something. If the medics were there all day, not just for ward rounds, then I am clearly talking crap (and probably am, to be honest) as they would have had more chance to see stuff.

Do any other psychiatric nurses on here know what I mean?

The neonatal consultants also worked on the children’s ward and it was said that they spent a lot of time over there since there was more of a turn over of patients.

I’m not sure if I’m mistaken but I think they had different consultants that possibly didn’t really cross paths too much or they worked different weeks so that they wouldn’t necessarily be aware of what happened with a baby say a week ago while a different consultant was on. If a different consultant was at a crash each time it would have taken a while for them to realise the pattern of the mottled appearances because it wasn’t them seeing it each time.

I feel for all her work colleagues if she’s found guilty, we have already heard one nurse whose a witness saying she cant sleep, no doubt the Dr that first raised concerns will forever be thinking he wished he had done more but ultimately if she’s guilty the only person responsible for the deaths was LL if guilty. With hindsight it’s easy to say maybe they should have done more but who would think there colleague was if guilty a serial killer..
I wonder how LL felt when she knew people were beginning to be suspicious of the deaths, then I thought how stupid if she guilty she has no feelings of guilt or wouldn’t have murdered in the first place.
Hope the parents are doing as well as could be as attending court daily to listen to this must be horrific💔💔
