Ben now posting quotes on his stories about narcissists and your intuition always being right. Awkward that these two are still in business together

I said it before but he's unbearable on the podcast, acts like a complete know it all and tries to sound smart with his word vomit! Puts Lucy down at any given opportunity and she just takes it. Her achievements far outweigh his and he knows it!

I hope she thrives from this and I’m sure she will, she seems extremely close to her family and has a good network of friends. I’ll be very glad not to see him in her content any more 😂😂

I wonder if there was a catalyst, or it just fizzled out once the excitement/whirlwind of wedding planning was over.

Anyone else getting fed up with the “hybrid AF” obsession? You run and lift weights like it’s some sort of unique combo. It’s not. Loads do that that to keep fit, healthy and strong.
Yes, I've been running and weight lifting since before she was born 😂 it doesn't make you special, just fitter and stronger.

It annoys me that she tries to dismiss it all by saying that she's had this injury since 14 years old (or whenever it was). If you know you have a chronic injury that's liable to flare up, why would you plan so many intense events back to back? Particularly if Hyrox Worlds is so important to you? And this constant "testing" the injury and doing sessions -- just rest!

Sometimes I feel like she's not very bright (or is addicted to doing cool stuff for the 'gram).

She’s always a bit cagey when it comes to injury. She’s never gone into detail about her hip injury either. Not saying she’s obliged to. Prob easier than getting people messaging thinking they know what’s best etc.

Really feel for Lucy since the split, it's clear she's pushing and pushing herself in the wake of it.. I just don't understand what she's trying to prove (or it's really sad she feels she has anything to prove!). I think it was abundantly clear from their social media presence and podcast that there was a really cruel dynamic between Lucy and Ben. I thought he always spoke to her like absolute shit on the pod and I'd listen and feel like why is he being so cruel to her? So imo she's way better off without that negative relationship in her life but the way she's acting in the aftermath is also a bit iffy.

Kinda awkward that they’re both constantly posting cryptic messages on insta clearly aiming at each other… surely the business won’t last if they can’t even be civil. Something must have happened because there’s clearly some hate there.

I also don’t think she injured her forearm as badly as she made out she did, I think this was an excuse for her ‘disappointing’ result!
Exactly. She can’t have injured it that badly as was back training / using it pretty much the next day

Nope. Yes she’s fit (and young which does help!) but it does seem a little bit OTT / obsessive. Slightly amazed she can do it tbf. I can’t really walk for a couple of days after a big effort marathon - but also I don’t really want to run and enjoy the rest after a race
No elite athlete would train like she does. I do worry at some point, she’s going to end up with a catastrophic injury and she’s going to be forced to take lots of time off. It feels like she’s afraid to stop moving - it does seem like she’s going through a hard time right now and is using exercise to cope.

She is free! She will go far and will find someone way hotter ☀ and way nicer too

Must be a real strain trying to run a business with an ex. Although I’m pretty sure she’s the brains of it all!

She’s talking about recovering from a marathon and none of it is remotely useful. Basically get changed out your PJs, put your make up on, eat. And then maybe rest. But if you’re her go for a 10k run?! Wtf?!

This is just a guess, but she's younger than him and I believe he really wanted them to settle down for real with a bunch of kids, while she still needs to have a lot of freedom to do crazy challenges, ultras, travels etc. Maybe they just wanted different lives in the end.
It’s not a huge age gap, but despite that Lucy had clearly mentioned she wanted them to try for children soon.
I guess we’ll never know what happened and how long it was going in behind the scenes for. I do find it a bit sad cause they seemed like they loved each other a lot and they were happy together.

She can’t be that surprised that running 2 marathons and an ultra back to back has led to an injury?!?

i agree. her pro debut was amazing and such a respectable time, credit where credits due she is a talented athlete so yeah no need to make excuses which i think is what shes doing. she’s been open before about the pressure she puts on herself and it does show. i was really excited for the america content but have found her insufferable, the constant over the top laughing has made me put the videos off. i hate the constant pushing bpn products too :(

sorry if this details the discussion often think about how and why loads of fitness influencers/athletes are constantly injured. a lot of running influencers i followed when i used instagram have suffered stress fractures. ben is the same he’s always got something. i have trained consistently for 7+ years now, a mix of strength training, crossfit and running. my training volume is similar to lucy’s, i dont compete or race as much anymore right enough (+ a full time job & high energy dog that needs lots of walking) and i’ve have minor injuries twice in that time, once was when i did my first half marathon at 20 with a sporadic training plan and during my first crossfit comp.
i don’t take any fancy supplements, no ice baths/saunas ect ect im either really lucky or all you truly need is a rest when you need it and a decent warm up/stretching routine 😂 i used to watch lucy’s and other influencers what i eat videos and feel guilty and worried that i eat too much but maybe thats also helping to keep me injury free

The fact that she threw up 6 times on a lap nearly 20 miles before she quit - that is some grit

Totally agree. Seems like he is quite rude to her on podcasts and talks down to her. Has even admitted that he is jealous of her achievements and tries to justify it like it isn't a bad thing. Myself and my partner also compete in hyrox and runs etc. Naturally he always has better times than me but I wouldn't feel anything other than immensely proud of him.

I think that’s the really valid point that if you watch professional athletes or runners Philly Bowden for example - she hasn’t got rest days built into every week but her easy days are actually easy and then when she gets to the end of the block she has proper rest and builds slowly back into training.

In the build up to a big race you wouldn’t expect constant rest but you would expect to see that after the race not an ultra being the next goal mere weeks later
