There's no doubt that she could have stayed on and took her education further, but that's a choice people seem to spite her for which I don't really get considering she was pursuing something she loved at the time. I think it would be great for her if she later chose to pursue childcare in some way again, but a few comments about her current work read badly. To me, when people constantly turn their nose up at her having a job in retail, that reads as classism. But maybe that's just me.
I have a part time job sort of in retail, sort of not. I don’t know what it is, I’m classed as a shop assistant but it’s a food business. So I certainly can’t turn up my nose at it, but I just know I want to pursue a profession. But that’s my only goal in life, I totally get lucilles goals are travel and family oriented, it really is just a personal thing.

Thanks for hearing me out; I really hope you reach your professional goals and otherwise 😌 Yeah, it's all down to the individual and can depend on what they've grown up around or who with, which I think is especially the case for her tbh. Very 'small city' ideals she has which I think many people just can't relate to.

I totally get that, I live somewhere with 1,500 ish people and the majority stay here and work in small retail jobs or in restaurants which is up to them. They’re happy enough and at the end of the day we need people to work those jobs. Just personally for me travelling and having a family doesn’t seem like my thing so I think I should be more open minded when hearing other people who aren’t as keen on working at a professional goal the same way I can’t see myself saving to go somewhere sunny, just doesn’t appeal to me. :)

If you watch her Vlogs from about 2 years ago, she's so different in front of the camera! Like super chirpy and happy kind of thing.
Also I've said this before, lol, but Natasha scares me! She seems so flipping frosty!😂

Honestly I’d love to see her stop waiting for other people and start travelling. She volunteered alone and I feel like she’d love backpacking. She could join groups and find people to backpack or travel with if she doesn’t want to do it alone. She’s surrounded by people who don’t want to travel, so if she really wants to do it she has to just go for it. It would also make for amazing content and she could really start to grow her channel. Even around Scotland there’s so much she could do ( after corona). She lives in Inverness she could vlog going on a boat trip to find nessie, a trip around Urquhart castle, the botanic gardens, the Victorian market etc. There’s so many things she could make great content doing if she just put in some effort.

Even going further north or south! Theres plenty of hills where she could walk, she could do the NC500 when she’s more confident in driving, there’s plenty of places to go. I hope she does manage to travel and I hope she realises she could enjoy it by herself.

Yeah she deffo should travel. Shame she's going to end up being a taxi driver/home help to both her stay at home mum sisters when she really should be persuing her own dreams.

It’s so frustrating when she talks about driving bc the only way she’s going to get more confident is by driving out of her comfort zone. She should start driving further or do one of those pass plus driving courses. Even get her mum in the car and they can drive to new places together, she’s not going to get more confident by driving the same three routes. Everyone makes mistakes when they’re driving, even the most experienced drivers but it’s like she makes one small mistake and that’s it, she won’t go to that roundabout or junction or whatever again.

She strikes me as one of those people who was practically ready to pass their test, but not mentally, if that makes sense.
she’s been driving for atleast a year now? It should become second nature, especially the Confidence in your own ability but no one seems to encourage it. If I ever said (and I did multiple times) I didn’t want to do x route again or a particular junction my mum forced me to because you can’t do a ‘grown up’ thing like driving and not be mature enough to just get over yourself sometimes

I agree that she'll never find someone to travel with. She's expressed a lot of interest in travelling but I feel like there will never actually be any time for it given that her saving up for a mortgage reads as her wanting to - eventually, when she has the deposit - move on to the next chapter in her life. She should totally take advantage of the next few years and let herself do some solo travelling. It's a very privileged thing to be able to do, sure, but she could do weekend/4-day trips to wherever in Europe, or even in Scotland, for dirt cheap if she plans well!! I think she needs something like that before she even thinks about the next chapter in her life. Solo travelling can, surprisingly, do a whole lot of good for anxiety. And she could make friends on the way!! She's clearly wistful for it. If I was her, I wouldn't be waiting around for Michael or anyone else to accompany me.

Does Lucille have any friends in Inverness? Everyone she seems friendly with apart from her family seem to live in other parts of the country. Its interesting that she hasn't made friends at any of the places shes worked or kept any of her friends from school. She must be so lonely with only her family living near her.

It's also interesting that she mentions wanting to drive further but doesnt mention driving to Michael, she probably means going to another supermarket instead of Tesco because it's an extra 2 min drive

To be fair, If Michael lives a good few hour bus journey away it must be a 2 hour drive usually. So it makes sense she’ll do “baby steps” as they say first just venturing into Inverness shire (which I’m aware isn’t a thing lol).

Idk, kinda tired of the lowkey classism going on in this thread sometimes lol
Yep I’m utterly sick of people putting down retail jobs. So what if that’s what she wants to do? Some of you have some high and mighty complex. You’re not better than her because she’s chosen a job in retail. I’m so sick of this attitude it’s snobby af. Y’all wouldn’t be able to go shopping if there weren’t retail managers and shop assistants ?!?

I’m not defending it but I wonder if it’s maybe they see a profession as more interesting to hear about in vlogs.

This is just nasty tbh. You sound like a right snob. Most people are proud of their friends and family regardless of what their job is. As long as they are happy is all that matters. When you go shopping do you spend the trip just thinking about how much better you are than the people behind the till? By Karen
True, when I go shopping I only think I’m better than them if I know for a fact my customer service is better if they’re a miserable b*stard to the customers!

Maybe but then find someone else to watch? 😂 we will never escape this horrible attitude toward “low skilled” jobs it’s so sad especially during this pandemic when it’s those people that have kept supermarkets running

It’s like Priti Patel (I think it was her who said it, might be wrong) saying those who make under £25k are unskilled, nurses make less per annum and I doubt Priti could help deliver a baby or do an IV. Salary doesn’t matter, as long as the effort is there.

I mean wow
It’s not against working in retail, I was a retail manager for over a year. It is more the lack of ambition 🤷🏻‍♀️ None of my staff were happy to settle and just do that all of their lives (lets be real if you can do it all of your life you are a saint)...It’s almost as if she lets life passively happen to her 😏

To be honest, I only wouldn’t want to work my job for the rest of my life because I’d be scared the wage wouldn’t be enough to live on. My employer pays everyone minimum wage and often times you see the adults doing less work or not following the rules for our workplace which drives me up the wall! They get paid more and for what? I end up having to do their work and my own. That was off topic but retail is a frustrating job I tilt my hat to anyone who can do it throughout life, the stress physically and mentally oh my.
