I can't be arsed getting into it with you. There were enquiries conducted into how Soham and Shipman cases were mismanaged - for example, for Soham there was a lack of sharing of information by neighbouring police forces, yet Huntley was a known SO but was given a job as a school caretaker.
I don’t think that’s a matter of people being misled by the police. DBS was introduced as a result of Soham I believe. The school was responsible for not checking references though. With many high profile cases, mistakes are made along the way, both with police or other organisations because they’re filled with people and people are fallible. That’s not the same as setting out to mislead the public though

Might be a local businessman. Might just be an ald blert. We will probably know tomorrow.
Does West Derby have detached houses set in their own grounds? I only know the route down the Loopy to visit the old Brookside set? I know nearby Croxteth is deemed posh. ( I'm from the dark side).

There are some expensive properties in the area. The village being the most pricey, but it has become a bit of a wag town in recent years. There is also plenty of social housing in West Derby too, so a mixed bag.

Ahh of course the “nice family man” card is being played now he’s a white British man, no way would that be the angle if he was any other nationality or ethnicity. It’s so predictable at this point.

The public were misled about Soham - it was portrayed as just one of those things, bad luck, but police and social services knew IH was a repeated sex offender.
Shipman; other professionals raised concerns about him that weren't followed up, when the story broke the authorities tried to minimise how many people he killed and for how long it had been going on.

Police/authorities need to be honest and transparent if the public are expected to trust them. Institutional failures and an economy with the truth aren't good enough.

It’s 2025 Shipman has been dead over 20 years! As have some of the police that looked into him probably. You realise it’s all separate police forces in each part of the country?
We can all list failings from over 20 years ago 🙄 someone failed to spot a blood clot in a hospital in Inverness, therefore you can’t trust any hospitals?
where is the Police misinformation to the public you mentioned?

Yeah, you have sandfield park too & some new houses that way. Probably sandfield park would be a lot more expensive than those though.

Ive just read the Daily Mail article. ’Maybe he had a breakdown‘? No, maybe he’s just a bleep . That’s far more likely.

Why do you think the police have reviewed and changed how they share information around how they handle high profile cases late last year?
Compare the police approach following the parade incident with the Southport incident - even the police can see there is an issue or they wouldn't have changed their approach.

Public confidence in the police/authorities is really reduced, mismanagement and misleading the public has eroded trust in the police over recent decades.
Hillborough anyone - did the handling of the Hillsborough promote public confidence in the police/authorities??! 🤔

There's no evidence of the police - if they're the authority to which you refer - deliberately misleading the public about Huntley nor Shipman nor Venables and Thompson. De Menezez is a whole other issue and a horrific one but I can't find any evidence for your other claims.

The police did nothing wrong regarding Southport. A load of racists needed any excuse to kick off.

Oh at least spell Hillsborough right. How FKIN DARE YOU come at ME about HILLSBOROUGH! VILE.
You said a history of police giving misinformation.
If you just don’t like authority because you don’t, just say so. As you say things change, but apparently that’s not good enough. Or don’t use big words like “misinformation“ if you don’t understand them.
It’s been great discussing very old unconnected bobbins with you whilst you try to find your point, but I’ll have to mute you as I feel you’re making me lose brain cells.

This might be what you're talking about with regards to Shipman?

It was found that CONSULTANTS lied/failed for some bizarre reason

With the Shipman case the police didn’t know how long it had been going on or how many people had been killed. That took time. The dr who initially raised the alarm to a corner - that led to a police investigation, but they couldn’t find enough evidence. The Shipman inquiry blamed that on inexperienced police being assigned to the police - not a covert up or any kind of conspiracy.

With Soham, the Bitcham report was critical of multiple key agencies, including police, social work and the school. But again there was no suggestion of anything being hidden from the public. Essentially the problem was the failure to share intelligence because there wasn’t a system in place. Huntly had been accused of multiple sex offences but not convicted. For one of those because the CPS decided to drop charges.

Only real significant criticism around Venbles and Thompson is of the justice system itself. Those boys weren’t old enough to understand the trial process and releasing their names and pictures has just led to public hysteria and vigilante attacks on innocent people. Oh and the failure of the probation service to declare concerns about Venibles after his release.

Sorry that was long. I’ve not quoted the PP because this isn’t honestly me looking for an argument, just me indulging in an area of special interest as an ADHDer

Thank you for this, said much better than my numerous posts did.

As an aside you've made me wonder if I have ADHD... But I think I just like being researching things when they're presented as fact without any evidence, especially if they sound fishy. (How would that be an ADHD trait? Genuine question!)
