When people were talking on here about no protection for young people in the industry the one that came to my mind was RobbieIt’s still only 30 something hours since he died. It’s not unacceptable for those he knew to be struggling to process and articulate it

I believe you could be right looking at the latest photos.. before seeing these I thought he was supposed to be high and manic.. in the photos which were taken 30 mins before he died he was not manic or even drunk looking which I was expecting.. I think it could have been sucide..

The last time I felt sad about a celeb death was George Michael, and I was a fan of his. With GM it was sadness as fan, sadness because he was a lovely man, sadness at a massive loss of talent, can't hear his singing without missing his beautiful voice.

If you’re referring to the pictures posted on Snapchat, they were very likely scheduled and taken days before. Liam was paid to post on Snapchat and probably had to post a certain amount of photos a day, which would’ve been handled by management. His girlfriend wasn’t even in Argentina when he died, yet there were photos of them posted on Snapchat just an hour before. I would not use those photos as being indicative of how he was the day he died.
I would instead pay attention to the description given by the hotel workers, who did describe him as being off his head and manic. The balcony only looks to be about waist height, very easy to topple over if you’re in that state.
The people slagging off the girlfriend for leaving Argentina are pissing me right off. What if she’d stayed and he’d killed her instead of himself in his violent rage? Then they’d all be asking why didn’t she leave an abusive situation.

Something about her with a Girls Aloud dancer in one of tacky mags. Went to the show and I’m 99% sure she’s the wrong gender for any of the dancers.Magazines have mentioned she was dating someone weeks back but tbh I think it's all PR for comebacks etc.
The PR will want to keep there name out there in preparation.

Seriously guys. We all have friends who are in our lives for periods of time & who we grow apart from as life moves on. The 1D boys are no different. It has been blatantly obvious that Harry hasn’t maintained much of a friendship with any of the others since the band split. And that’s OK. It doesn’t mean he doesn’t like them or that he doesn’t look back fondly. It’s like if a university friend of mine died suddenly. Yes, I’d be shocked & feel very sad. We spent 4 years together & were great mates. But I haven’t seen them in years & our friendship fizzled out. That’s life. People have this expectation that they remain best mates.. why? They were young, then moved on. Life took them in different directions (ironically

I've not really followed 1D at all over the years so I may be way off here too, but I get the sense that unless the parents of 'the boys' were particularly close-knit with them, they lost the control and influence they should have had as their guardians when the group started to take off. Once Simon Cowell becomes the most important adult in your child's life, I don't think you can ever recover a relationship where there going to listen to you first and foremost. It seems like Harry's family were able to keep him fairly grounded. It looks to me like Liam's weren't. Once a minor is touring the world, earning more than the parents will in a lifetime and having experiences the parents can't imagine, I think it's very easy to see how the healthy balance of the relationship can be lost. I'm sure Liam's family will have tried to help over the years, but he didn't want it/want ready for it, and maybe just didn't consider their views or concerns to be of interest or importance.
The pictures some girl took of him in the hotel lobby don't really prove anything, you can be on drugs and sort of coherent and seem normal one minute then absolutely out of it the next. I actually cringe at my younger self and the states I'd get into.
You just have to watch some of the most recent videos of him, meeting fans, at Niall's concert etc - he is on something be it just drink or a mixture of both drink and drugs but he is definitely not right.
The balcony in the hotel room would be very easy to topple over especially when you aren't all there. If it is suicide I will hold my hands up but something just tells me its been a horrible stupid accident mixed with a lethal cocktail of drink/drugs

It really gets my wick when people complain that the tributes from 1D aren’t grieving enough. It’s clear they’ve had very little interaction recently (if not longer) and friendships phase out. If one of my childhood friends died (and a couple have) I’d feel immensely sad but I wouldn’t be paralysed with grief - I would treasure the memories and allow those who knew them best (partner, family, closer friends) grieve them harder because they are in their intimate circle. It’s disingenuous for the 1D guys to be completely gushing a) because they likely don’t know the Liam he was in the last weeks/months and b) he’s done some shady things that have come to light and being too saccharine implies they are ok with that behaviour. Like I said, damned if they do, damned if they don’t. I think all four of the tributes were perfectly okay and I hate that they are being criticised or scrutinised. Nobody has monopoly on how grief is presented.
Why did none of the lads mention Cheryl in their statements? I know they weren’t together but surely as the mother of his child she deserved a mention alongside him and his family..
Honestly I don't know how any of them had the strength to post so soon. It's clear that Niall and Harry's were ran through the PR mill, but Zayn and Louis' seem extremely raw and from a place of deep pain and regret - especially for Zayn. The tyranny of social media really is awful. In the same position it would take me weeks to process my feelings and to be able to articulate them in any way.
It is clear that they're speaking of the Liam Payne of the past, with the exception of Louis. The reality is they went through something exceptional and lifechanging together, and that will always bond them. But most of them didn't maintain contact with Liam and probably were victim to his addiction and erratic behaviour over the years. That's a very complicated thing to behold. I've watched friends struggle from a far, to the point of being in their firing line and not recognising my friend anymore. You can see and be heartbroken by their struggle but also life is busy and hard for you in your own way and you have to protect yourself. You always think, maybe in a few years when we're older and wiser. It's clear that was exactly Zayn's trail of thought. Water under the bridge, maybe a reunion down the line.
If there's one thing I'd take from all of this, it's to not put off those conversations. Don't assume time that isn't guaranteed to any of us. That's certainly been on my mind a lot today.
Robbie's post was really moving. I feel like he would relate a lot to Liam's struggles and I'm glad he'd been there for him over the years. His message is really poignant too, people are just people. You can and should hold compassion even for people you don't like or relate to. Everyone deserves that.

I’m surprised they posted separately. I bet the trolls have already started comparing their posts already…we live in the world where social media has clouded reality. It’s crazy. These are real lives and real people grieving. My thoughts are with Liams family and close ones. It’s such a tragedy.

And now they will be looking back on memories of the madness that was their time together as a band. They all had good things to say - I know, obviously they are not going to say anything bad about him.
But picking their statements apart to see whose is the best or worst one seems a bit unfair too, imo.
At the end of it all, a talented young man is dead in horrible circumstances and that is very sad no matter what.
