I've seen someone mention elsewhere that his current girlfriend wasn't mentioned in tributes when talking about bear/his family, I wonder what the deal is there oversight or maybe those close weren't keen on her. Regardless of what people think of her though I'm sure she must be in bits she seemed to be the one closest to him in the last couple of months.

Louis’ post broke me in more ways than I thought. I think everyone can relate to Zayn’s post about the regret of thinking there’ll always be chance for contact.
The more days that pass the more sadder I’m becoming. I think it’s just bringing back all the memories I had being a fan on them, waiting for music premiers on YouTube, fighting for tickets, the happiness they gave me in a time when I felt lonely.

the bit about being an uncle if Bear needs him did me inI was going to say the same thing about Bear. I’ve spent time volunteering with kids with various difficulties in their lives & the younger ones with largely absent family members who pass away are more confused about the idea they should feel sad/those who are sad around them than actually feeling upset themselves. They just don’t grasp it until they are older. Kids aged 10 & under are all about their immediate surroundings. Those in their lives day in day out. They’d often be more emotional talking about a pet who died than mum/dad/uncle/grandma (who was absent from their lives)
Obviously, I’ve no idea how often Liam was in Bears life but it didn’t appear it was overly frequently.. hopefully Bear is doing OK & I’m sure those who around him day in day out are keeping life as normal as possible for him. Thankgod Cheryl has kept him completely out the spotlight!

Harry’s post seems less personal than Louis and Zayn. Not dragging him for it but you can tell they weren’t that close. It’s as if he’s said what he’s been expected to say.
Did Niall actually see him at the show a few weeks ago? I imagine it’s hit him quite hard either. He was either the last band mate to see or speak to him, or Liam came to his show and he didn’t see him and now he’s dead.

It must be a weird situation for the rest of 1D. The expectation of the level of grief is at odds with the reality of their relationship with Liam.
It’s like being expected to publicly grieve and declare love over a workmate you spent an intense amount of time with years ago but don’t really know any more.

i was thinking this too. they’re really writing a message for the boy they knew rather than the young man he was/became, and it must have been so tough (especially for zayn and harry, who i guess had a more distant relationship with him) to think of the words for it. i did think that zayn’s statement was full of regret and very honest on that front though.
it really is bizarro world. almost like you’re writing as a fictionalised version of yourself.
i think it was probably harder for harry to form a statement too because he’s SO famous, he knows every word he writes will be scrutinised. it’s unfair they even have to put out these things so soon when they’ve probably barely even acknowledged their emotions on it themselves yet
It must be really hard for his bandmates. I know they may have grown apart over the years and perhaps not in each others lives much but as someone else mentioned on up the thread, they will be the only 5 people in the world that will ever know what being in 1D was truly like and all the memories they’ve shared over the years, the private jokes, arguments, good and bad times. And they’re still all only young guys who probably thought they had all the time in the world 
I feel very sorry for Niall. He was the last one in the band to see Liam. I’d imagine he’s filled with so many what ifs and it’s going to be very traumatic to move forwards. I think it’s telling that he hasn’t released a statement yet. I would bet that the boys all agreed to individual statements collectively so as to not put pressure on others, so I have no doubt that Niall’s will happen when he’s ready but I just really feel for him.
I just had a listen to Teardrops for the first time, a nice song. I wasn’t a 1D fan but his passing has moved me

It reminds me of something Emma Bunton said - regardless of how close she and the Spice Girls may or may not be, they are literally the only four girls who experienced that life and fame with her, and no one else could possibly understand that - not even those who are/were equally as famous at that time.
Louis & Zayn wrote such lovely tributes and added really lovely photos of them with Liam. Harry's read like a standard PR statement, which is fine, they obviously weren't close. But his, or his PR, choice of picture annoyed me. The color has to match his Instagram aesthetic and it's of the back of Liam's head... So it could be anyone really. It's like they didn't want to tarnish Harry's Instagram aesthetic with a picture reminder of 1D. That's so disrespectful. Just don't post anything at all then
I thought exactly the same. It felt kind, but slightly perfunctory. Louis’ on the other hand was way more personal and intimate than I was expecting; it felt like it was just as he had written it with no one proof reading it. Zayn’s was also very raw; he seems to have grown up so much in the last few years and is very introspective these days.
I’ve literally never seen this girl before last night, when the TikTok algorithm showed me that video of them flying to Argentina that everyone else has no doubt seen. She came across to me as completely vapid and brash and definitely in it for the money.
I know people have spoken about some of them not following him back on insta and it made them feel quite sad. Harry and Zayn don’t follow anyone back and I think Louis and Liam followed everyone and Niall seems to follow them all but Liam (not sure why) but it’s not that important now anyway
No I’ll just use my common sense thanks! Unless he was at the other side of the balcony there’s no way he’s going over that if he’s unconscious.As you’ve said yourself he’d fall to the ground not elevate over a balcony! Especially as he seemed to have his hands full with a whiskey bottle, phone and lighter.
