Poor Cheryl. I hear she's been working tirelessly behind the scenes to try and clean him up.

An interesting line in the Daily Mail about the girlfriend who was supposed to stay in Argentina for 5 days, but ended up staying for two weeks before then leaving saying on TikTok “'I was just like, I need to go home,'

Reading between the lines, did she see him, realise how bad things were for him and extend her stay before realising that he needed much more help than she could give? His behaviour at nialls concert was so unsettling. That wasn’t just drink.

Either way, very sad that he or those around him couldn’t get him the help he so obviously needed.

I agree it's so sad and his behaviour has been so unsettling and alarming for a while now.
It seems alot of people will feel they let him down or have some sort of 'blame' put on them. But unless an addict is willimg to help themselves, there is nothing anyone can do. His mental health issues and drug abuse was a lethal combination and has ended the same way as many other people. It's a tale as old as time unfortunately.
I really think there should be more safeguarding for younger stars. We have seen it all before haven't we? Those who are spend their youth in the limelight pay the price. Things could have been so different for Liam had he not been in the limelight. Was any of it worth it? I bet if he was here now he would say only Bear was worth it.
I'm beyond upset for Cheryl and Bear- 7 and without a daddy, no one wants to have that conversation with their child. I just can't stop thinking about Bear and sending love his way.

This footage outside his hotel with fans is very sad, especially the first one with the guy telling Liam he helped save his life.

Wonder if Maya Henry feels bad? She’s been talking about him a lot past few weeks
I hope not, I hope she finds peace, he was bombarding her and harassing her most likely when he was on something. In the most awful and terrible way, it’s all over for her and she will need to be strong and offline to heal from this.

I hate when people die suddenly the very bad and dark things disappear and people turn on those who were hurt by that person with what ifs. He was an addict but that doesn’t allow people to behave how he did to Maya which I fully believe, especially now the very thing he would threaten to do, he did last night.

His behaviour in that video really is so sad. Where were his family.

Ten years ago i was living in farnborough when he moved nearby with cheryl. People were talking about how nice they were.

He will have seen all the ricky gervais stuff. His solo career was alright, its a shame. I bet he was waiting for a 1D reunion like many.

A boy will grow up without his father. What a gd shame.

there's pictures of his body.
This is absolutely disgusting and an awful thing for the media to release. Worse still is that someone purposely took photos of a dead person and (probably) sold them to a media outlet in the first place.
The relationship many fans have with musicians these days is so, so unhealthy, entitled and rude. Some of the comments I’ve read on Instagram about this, from his so called fans, makes me sick. Blaming his ex, etc. vile.
That woman is entitled to speak out about Liam Payne’s gaslighting actions. She is not responsible for his death by speaking about what he put her through. He is.

Clearly he had a lot of demons. What a horrible way to go. Very sad for his son.

What a sad and tragic end to his life.

I remember the first time I saw him, back in 2008 on The X Factor when he was only 14. He sang a Frank Sinatra song at his audition. I was the same age, and I was disapointed when he didn't end up getting through to the live shows. His life would've been very different if he didn't return in 2010 and become part of One Direction.

It feels like this wasn't meant to happen. Liam never suited the tattooed, celebrity, rich and famous life. He always seemed like the odd one out in 1D, with his more mature Michael Buble type style. If he didn't return to X Factor, he probably would still be alive today and not got caught up with drink and drugs. He probably would've had a normal life, working as a local pub or wedding singer or something.

Its horrible how the music industry chews up and spits people out.

As a huge 1D fan from 2010, I’ve been trying to sum up how I feel for the past couple of hours. We could all say that we expected something like this based on his recent behaviour but I don’t think anyone thought it would actually happen. I personally don’t believe he ever fully recovered from things that happened during the 1D days. He was always labelled as the responsible one, that “dad” figure at the start and as time went on and he grew up, I feel he was doing everything he could to shake that label off. I also got the impression he struggled with the fact he wasn’t the main focus of the band, he wasn’t the one the girls were going crazy for.

Obviously no one fully knows what he was thinking or going through but my heart breaks for his family, friends and in particular Bear 🥺

But flipside away from the addiction and a list of reasons why young stars need support systems from the industry. he wouldn’t have had his son or experienced some of the incredible things he did, the wealth he earnt. He may be only 31 but that man lived more than most people. He’s achieved so much on that time his family must be so proud of him.

I’m just echoing what others have said but I think Maya will undoubtedly feel bad and will probably blame herself - but she shouldn’t. I saw on the news overnight she took out a restraining order to stop him contacting her friends and family and maybe she had one to stop him contacting her too.

Just because someone is famous it shouldn’t mean they’re treated like gods in life or death and the chances of her lying about what her experience of him is are slim. Should he have been above reproach? Absolutely not. I had a terrible relationship when I was younger and every time I tried to leave he said he would take his own life. I was 21 and that was one strand of a complex and damaging relationship. He didn’t but if he had been taking drugs then who knows? You never ever know what is in the drugs you smoke but buying and taking drugs abroad carries an even bigger risk (I would think).

He was a very troubled man by all accounts (he wasn’t on my radar tbh) and he paid the heaviest price for the fame he wanted so badly when he was a KID. Mikey from Boyzone posted a really good point; record companies should have Psychologists on their payroll to give help to young people who are catapulted to fame.

Where was his family? He was 31. Far too young to die but old enough to do what he wanted and when you’re an international superstar that nobody says “no” to, the chances of you listening to anyone must diminish. We don’t know how many people tried to help him as I’ve been hearing and reading he spiralled.

I feel heart sorry for Bear and I feel sorry for Cheryl that she has to break her wee boy’s heart and pick up the pieces. But as much as we shouldn’t put him on a pedestal in death, I don’t think we should forget that relationship, the age difference and the potential impact that had on him. If the genders were reversed we would have heard a lot more about it.

I sincerely hope he’s at peace now. 31 is no age at all and it could have been so different.
