Yeah I feel Kate might be saying that to be diplomatic too. She’s hardly going to say “Liam was doing terribly” in a piece where she’s gushing about him and sharing romantic and cute photos and videos. She’s probably also aware that if she said that she could open herself up to attacks by trolls who’d blame her for Liam’s death.
That makes no sense. He was drinking at Niall's show. There's literally photographic evidence of him with a can of something. And the toxicology report probably shows the same, depending on what samples they took.
He was an addict. As long as she wasn't pouring drink down his throat, it's fine to admit he fell off the wagon. His family knew what he was like; it doesn't make her look bad.
It's possible to word things diplomatically without blatantly lying.

The Sun definitely had something on her and blackmailed her to do that interview, it’s the same set up as all the other ones (Philip, Linda Robson etc etc)

I wonder how much she got paid to do it? I don't think she was forced in to giving the interview. Not this many months later when the world has moved on. It's a good bit of money for her whatever she got and it boosts her profile back up when many will have forgotten her.
It is but everyone picks apart everything she says or does so she probably just wanted to put a "nope" on it all. If she mentioned certain times he was drinking or let on she knew he was drinking then it opens cans of worms about the drug use too. Also as said above if she's gave a statement to the police in Argentina she probably doesn't want to rock the boat.
I'd imagine regardless of her relationship with Bear too, out of love for Liam and the respect of Bear being his son, she probably doesn't want the nitty gritty out there from her about Liams addictions.
She doesn't owe the public anything, far less Liams secrets.
People will hate on her for selling her story but from what I can see of it it's been done in a respectful enough way. I don't image she'd have gotten anything from Liams estate and she seems to have been staying with her parents so I guess she has to make money some way. I know that sounds cold but I think so long as she keeps it respectful (I know it was to the sun) there's no real harm in it.
Yes this is what I think, it’s common knowledge that people do interviews with The Sun because they either have something on them, or are going to publish something unsavoury.
I wonder if they were going to run a story about how she was supposedly ‘one of Liams carers and abandoned him’ and in exchange for not doing that, she did this interview about the details of their relationship.
I know some people will probably think she sold out for money, but I can’t imagine they’d have paid her that much for it. Certainly not enough to keep up the lifestyle she’d have had with Liam, anyway.
Would they have let her paint their relationship in such a loving manner if they had some dirt on her though? Surely if they had stuff that bad about her they could have got her to have really spoken badly about Liam, his addictions and past abusive events with his ex.
For an exclusive interview? Yeah they would. They can’t force her to speak badly about Liam, that would be doing a 180 on everything she’s said and done so far and can you IMAGINE the backlash she’d get from Liams fans, I can’t imagine she’d do that to herself. They could just publish all that without interviewing her, that doesn’t make any sense.
I’m not sure I agree with the conspiracy that The Sun has dirt on her and that she’s been blackmailed. Kate already got a lot of stick for leaving Liam so that would be a pretty stale and worn out “story” for The Sun to publish. I think she freely offered to do this presumably after them contacting her.
Depending on what they apparently had on her, she could have recieved backlash from Liams fans either way.
It seems a bit of a reach that they would have anything on her serious enough to get her to give them an exclusive interview tbh.
naaaaah that wasn’t dancing at all. It’s all bull. The whole interview was BS. She’s painting this picture perfect life which was not the case at all. Guess so got a nice pay day?! She’s wiping her face but there’s no tears….. mess. Lost a lot of respect for her.

Most probably, but coming straight from her mouth is obviously worse than a paper creating something and running it.
I wasn’t saying that I necessarily think they had some serious kind of dirt on her, I was saying that’s one way The Sun gets these types of interviews out of people. I actually said in my post that my thought was more that they’d run something unsavoury and inflammatory on her ‘being liams carer and abandoning him’.
There's been rumours of her abandoning him ever since he died I don't think they'd have gotten much from that, even if they had proof that she was a carer or minder for him there's no denying they made each other happy in one way or another. I think the 1d fanbase has people who will always hate on Liam, who will always hate any girl they've been with, who will always believe in "larry" and who will always believe kate abandoned liam and therefore had a hand in his death. Unless they had solid proof that Kate did something like buy him the drugs he was taking for example, but then she'd be in jail, they'd be clutching at straws.

Maybe people like Kate and Roger did have a current phone number for him compared to say Geoff who lets be honest probably wasn't happy with the whole Florida move etc?
Maybe as it's leak and a translated one at that right, the whole no phone is out of context or something?
Even if Geoff and Karen aren't that tech savvy, I'm sure Ruth, Nicola and even Cheryl would know there's multiple ways people can contact online with instant messengers etc.

Yeah the phone thing is weird. I could believe if ge had been under some kind of guardianship (can't remember the correct name) that he was only allowed limited time or access with a phone and that Geoffs statement had been kind of lost in translation but then he wasn't under anything and there's been other stories coming out like him messaging people on social media for drugs.
I think there was a deliberate attempt by Roger and whoever else at the time to isolate Liam from his family and even his son. he obviously had a phone but I’m guessing his parents were told he didn’t have one for his “mental health”The Florida moved seemed completely odd given that Liam had said he loved taking Bear to school and did seem orchestrated by Kate who posted a video saying how happy she was to be back in America and hated living in rainy London. I don’t think much thought went into Liam being away from his family and bear because he was genuinely mentally ill during that time.
