Am I correct in thinking Liam had ADHD? It's been a while since I've been on this thread, and I don't remember now.
Obviously not to this extent, but thinking back to when mine was poorly controlled, I can kind of understand how this happened. I used to actively look forward to situations when I was going to be alone, because it was the only time I could actually relax and not have to worry about people judging my weirdness, but unfortunately poor impulse control is part of having ADHD. It would start off great with my own little spa evening and something nice to eat, then rapidly descend into drinking so much I gave myself the fear, or spending money I didn't have on random crap that would end up in the bin a year later when I found it in a drawer.
I (obviously, I hope) can't relate to going on a sex worker and class A binge, but I never had the money or space to do that - I always had to be there for my daughter coming home from her grandparents, or to get up to go to work so there were some socially applied brakes. If money, leisure and family were no object, then I guess I don't like it but I can see how it happened.
The only thing throwing me out is that I have the worst guilt complex known to man, which wouldn't allow me to treat someone the way he did those women (including his partner), but...I think it's fairly well acknowledged that there's differences in the way men v women behave with ADHD.
