Sure, but for me by 2023 standards I just dont agree! It’s something you share with friends, not announce on public social media to gain attention! And if not to gain attention, why post publicly? But I think there's a distinction between wanting attention for yourself and wanting attention for homophobia to raise awareness of it.
If they hadn't shared their experience we wouldn't be talking about it now and I think I'd rather know that this sort of thing is going on, because then it can be used as evidence that homophobia does still exist. I know we're all aware of that, but plenty of people act like the UK is now a liberal utopia where homophobia and other forms of prejudice just don't happen.

I’d like to think it was coming from a place of “oh, this is something gay people should be aware of and not pay money to this business” rather than “lets Post this and see if it goes viral!”. “Going viral” is practically a job title these days to earn easy, extra money and attention.

But on the other hand, I thought they looked like a normal gay couple from the photo I saw on the article (which I assume the media have lifted from Facebook profiles, as they tend to do) and I thought it was nice to see a young gay couple who'd bought a house and are just living their lives together. I'm not normally a softy like that.

Agree with the Tattle connection, the users on this site are more open to these kind of grifts. Not saying that this is for sure but I’ve seen many topics on here (even just the past week or so as an example) that started out as one thing and ended up turning into completely into another

I LOVE THAT ADVERT! When I first saw it I gasped (lol) As it was so nice and lovely. But (in pure and negative me fashion lol) I instantly thought “how cynical to place such emotional baggage LGB rights on gambling lol”.

Would suspect its possibly a Baptist sort of church, certainly the American Baptists are very intolerant, in contrast the Catholic Church Pope Francis says gay people should be welcomed and respected not marginalised and discriminated against.

I was reading about Aaron Ramsdale, an Arsenal footballer, calling out homophobia in the sport. He's not gay himself, but he has a brother who's gay, so it's closer to home than for most people.
Of course, he's getting the usual people telling him to stick to sport, but I have respect for someone who does more than a bit of tutting when they hear homophobia. Actively calling it out and shining a light on it is a good thing in my opinion.

But that’s not the bravest thing he’s done. That’s not why I admire him. My brother is gay, and he’s lived his life in an open and authentic way since he went off to school. I’m so proud to say he’s my brother. I haven’t talked about it before, but with everything going on in football right now, I thought it was important to mention. Oliver is a lot like me, in many ways. He’s a regular bloke. Loves football. Loves knocking about with his mates. Loves the Gunners. He’s proud of me, and I’m really proud of him.

It's a great article and refreshing for him to open up in that way. He seems like a really decent guy.
As he says in the article, he won't get through to the trolls (sadly) but that's still not a reason to keep quiet. Good on him.
The two men discussed here make a point of saying they don’t want to publicly name the woman, that doesn’t make them decent virtuous individuals imo if they did cause this woman to be identified and harassed by extremist elements that would make them POS

He said he wouldn’t have booked the concert in Malaysia had he done his research and known in advance homosexuality was illegal there. He was making a point, and its highlighted to the world that homosexuality is illegal in Malaysia. They are one of the most popular bands in the world, and have been banned from the country because they took a stand against homophobia. How is it a bad thing? These homophobic governments/cultures deserve zero respect from the rest of the world. Not enough powerful wealthy people stand up to them, most of them just collect their cheque so I applaud him.
