The difference between funding Jolyon Maugham's legal fees and Boris Johnson's legal fees is that with Boris we don't get a choice.

It has often been mentioned here and elsewhere that Paul Easton used to publish statistical graphs based on the RAJAR figures. Unfortunately, he gave up doing that sometime ago.

This evening I have learnt that he has died. Sad, I used to keep in touch with him.

Interesting call just now on A Marr from a civil servant who called JOB a while back slagging various people off ... he's been sacked and he's now suing. I remember the original call, came across as a very credible chap. Tories will probably try to smear him now. Not sure if he called James today ... he might tomorrow.

Is that the same guy who phoned James again recently? Maybe a week or two ago and gave the update he'd been sacked then. He did sound very credible.

He'll probably start on Boris tomorrow with an analysis of this infamous "dossier" which will exonerate The Great Man from lying. Because of course he was set up/ misinformed by his ministers/unaware of the laws which he instituted/suffering from undisclosed amnesia/long Covid/ blackmailed by Dominic Cummings/just in need of a piss-up for wellbeing/self-care management so....#bekind or else.
