That Joey bloke seemed really surprised to find out she had been saying they were in love and going to have kids when he got out! Didn’t take him long to get shot of her either. He was horrible about her though and I believe he was saying all that tit to get her to visit him and to be famous rather than infamous, plus he is another short arss and has a cheek to talk about her, he would’ve been lucky to get any woman that isn’t a big gangster like himself! I saw that on her insta, said even after 9 years of no girls he still didn't want her. It is a shame she fell for the prison talk, even though family and friends told her not to. Sad that you can see Laurens desperately searching for love rather than loving herself as cringe as that sounds
Assuming that any normal decent guy she could meet would probably google her after the first date when she said she was famous.... surely she must know that everything she’s put out there is gonna make any potential husband run a mile?
Exactly and it’s why part of me feels for her, I think she was insecure pre Mark due to her mum taking her siblings and not her, but that bleep did a number on her and on TV for all to see, I also think if he did speak to her when he passed her in the street then she may very well stop talking about him though I do believe nowadays she is asked about him and then criticised for simply answering, why should she deny that her relationship with him ever existed, it was years long and maybe she does mention him now to piss him off since he can’t even say hello when he walks past her! I actually like LG when she is on TV etc and I really feel for her.
If a guy truly liked her, (it will happen one day, she needs to change her type) then he would see past all that crap imo.
The thing is most of those on TOWIE knew each other long before the show, even future partners of two of them knew Billi and Cara, even LGs ex Joey dated Billi so even normal everyday people know reality stars, if she just removed herself from SM slightly focused solely on her tan business, which was great when it first came out, i think she'd find someone nice. Sad thing is, i think shes so wrapped up in needing validation from others because of her relationship with Mark i doubt it will happen

What I was saying though is that one day a man that likes her will see past the crap with her posing and flouting herself all over social media, he will see that she was having a bad time during this period and so it’s not like she is doomed forever.
She needs to stop being ‘famous’ and just get on with her life, she needs to get past the crap with the looks and coming off of the gram etc, will put a rest to that, social media isn’t good for women like her. She is getting on a bit for babies so needs to find a good man, except she hasn’t had one yet in all honesty, Jake was okay until he sold photos of her and intimate ones at that.
The only one that comes to mind who has achieved this is, bizarrely, Abi Titmuss! All she had to do was change career and move to a country where nobody knew her in order to start again... but then I guess her problems were completely different

How does Lauren get an income, her salon? I imagine Brentwood High Street to just be full of boutiques and salons owned by TOWIE folks, can an Essex lass put me right or wrong?!
I don’t think her family and friends are any good because they don’t seem to tell her that she is making a fool of herself, but then they may have, her sister Nicola seemed quite decent and level headed so I bet she has told LG and LG keeps chasing the fame, even though she wasn’t exactly A list beforehand.

Its 38 mins long but it’s a video of Lauren on a You Tube channel called Matty Hancock and it’s about how she got the role in TOWIE etc etc, it’s long but quite good.
I actually like her when I see her talking on shows and stuff and I think she would be a laugh on a night out but I would get her pissed and then tell her to just be normal!!
Does she have much income? Her flat interior and clothes always look like the cheap tat companies throw at D listers in return for a post, I know companies house shows Vicky Pattinson has only earned 200k over the past few years and she’s been fairly successful in getting tv work (probably because she’ll do stuff cheap)
When these people register themselves as a business in order to avoid tax, all their figures are available online and it’s always a comical read.
Always reminds me of the Stephen Bear story where he claimed to be staying in an Ibiza mansion costing 20k a night and for once the paper did some digging and identified the photos he’d taken on the balcony of this palace were.... a £175 a night three star hotel room. Smoke and mirrors as always, no ex reality star has become wealthy as far as I can see ... not from the fame anyway, a few people like Craig from bb1 who have proper businesses seem to be doing great with the added story of “oh I was famous once, wow that was a crazy fortnight”

Seem to is the key phrase there! Anything used as a filming location can be offset against tax for the production company: “we live here but the main use of the place is as a film set”. If the leased house costs 4K a month and he shoot takes five months, that’s 20k of costs they can claim back on while avoiding having to pay for a studio. And a nice little bonus for the stars of the show, a free plush home.
In short what I was told about the growth of reality tv was this:
Clip shows became popular in the 90s as an hour long show cost 100k to make. A drama or comedy etc was closer to £1m an hour. As we got lots of E4/ITV2 type channels, more content was needed. At first they used repeats like the endless Friends episodes on E4, which cost around 50k an hour to buy in. But the small channels don’t make 50k an hour from the adverts, so something costing maybe 20k an hour was needed. And all these production companies came out with reality shows: make an hour for £10k, sell it for £20k, make hundreds of hours of filler tv each year and profit. The formula over time became: of the budget, spend the most on the editors, director and crew. They make the show look professional. Lease a great central location for the show so it looks aspirational on screen. Now find some interesting people for the cast - maybe from an already established show. Say we can’t pay much, but being on TV with their own show is priceless and they can make their own money from being famous. If they won’t do it, go to the next on the list. The cast really doesn’t make much difference if the audience is going to be under a million. It’s like thinking Hollyoaks would get more viewers if they had actual actors and not people they had found smoking fags outside of the local sixth form!
I’ve seen bits and pieces of figures over the years and this seems to be accurate. Very few ex reality stars are living the high life, look at S club 7, they had tv shows, a movie, decent record sales, loads of merch and only pulled out 300k each for six years working 18 hour days 50 weeks a year! 1% of tv people are well paid, 1% of instagram posts make a bundle. The other 99% are scrabbling round for scraps
She's posted a pic on her Instastories of crowded beaches in the news, saying more people are confused about the lockdown rules. She hasn't even apologised for what she did, just made excuses and deleting negative comments.
