I like how she includes this ‘ Every course fee includes a donation to The Trussell Trust, to help support local food banks.’ but doesn’t say how much? It could be 5p and it would still count as a donation 😳

Just joined to comment on this. Just... wow. I find her weirdly fascinating inasmuch as I don’t think I’ve ever come across anyone quite so self obsessed and self congratulatory

She comes across as quite a bitter person. ‘Refusing to settle’ hmm is that what you’re calling it 🤷‍♀️
I think she is trying to covertly defend herself and her choices, because ultimately there is likely a part of her that is disappointed she is 34, single, childless, whatever. I know from my own experience (no kids) and from single friends that being in your 30s and not having the typical husband, kids, dog, mortgage and National Trust membership can alienate you from your peers. I think she feels this, and she is trying to make it clear that she chose this, before anyone dare judge her.

The funny thing is, of all the things to judge her for, I’d never care about her being mid-30s and single etc. I doubt many of us would. I admit I do judge her and find her strangely fascinating, but really for things like her narcissism, her lies and grandstanding, her obsession with how she is viewed by others, and how it makes her reinvent her narrative a lot, all that armchair psychology stuff.

Oh God I can’t bear this new campaign!

No I don’t want to contribute for you to pay someone to entertain your gran!

Not that I don’t feel for the cause - of course we’ve all got elderly relatives in this situation but how can she think a mention in her book is going to make me contribute to her fund over my own family’s wellbeing?!

Am I missing something?

Also Laura - instead of asking for money why not go and spend some time there yourself to make a difference? Go and read your book to them or play bingo or sing some songs (which I’ve legitimately done at many care homes for years!)

I haven’t commented on this thread before but this has made me so riled I can’t bear it!

I don’t understand why going to Ikea on your own is stressful, yeah it’s busy but it’s not exactly a stress! Bet I’m not the only person who thought ‘try doing with kids love’ 🙄

Yeah, it is beyond me what her big deal about a “solo trip to IKEA”. Making a full on drama about every single thing in her life and turning it into the ‘single strong woman can do anything’ saga. She
Ooh can you tell us more about your experiences with her? Would love to know more.
She is going to the same yoga classes where I go (Derby Hotpod Yoga) so I spot her there time to time. She makes out as they were some hardcore difficult classes. I remember I laughed when once, after a class she put up a silly story about she has just attended an ‘advanced’ class of yoga and she nearly had to leave because it was SO hard but she pushed herself through the hardship and done it. She congratulated and celebrated herself for it. Now, in reality it wasn’t an advanced class at all. I know because I was there and as a beginner hobby yoga goer, although I always find these classes a very good workout, they are FAR from advanced yoga. For someone who trained to be a yoga teacher, as apperantly she is, they are definitely not difficult. Of course she likes making things into a drama as she is an attention seeking sad person. And yes, she isn’t communicating with people who she doesn’t see as ‘important’ people. She doesn’t even acknowledge them.

It’s mortifying that Insta tells you how many people are watching live...a grand total of 35.

Part TED talk oh my god, I can remember when I first read her books when I was in my early 20s and thinking my life was that interesting too, quickly grew out of that ha. She’s so weirdly quasi-EnglishAmerican - “a state of the union”?? What does that even mean?

We are going to need more details! 🍿
That she's rude, entitled, embarrassing. The worst kind of contributor cause she's a blogger and not really a writer, so they get her in for the followers/shares but the copy is dreadful. She really devalues the brand. On the plus side she's cheap.

Wowza. She's so brazen it's untrue. I'm so so sorry to read of the people here who've been affected by abuse in some way. I am genuinely ASTOUNDED that LJW would write what she did, then double down on it by arguing with people who (quite rightly) pointed out that child abuse and rape are not playthings to toy with. But as others here have pointed out, she's fuelled by all the people saying 'oh wow babes what a story!' like it's some cutesy quirky thing.

Once again she's proven her out of touch privilege.

The changing and stopping her insta stories thing is for sure because of this forum, and waiting to reinvent her new persona. Did anyone notice that after it was called out on here that maybe she was lying about being from Derby, she did a post talking about her 'home town' of York, and sure enough loads of people commented saying they had no idea?! Yes because she lied about it for so long! Plus this calls into question her time line of the 'high school sweetheart' story. She's woven so many lies into her ~nArAtIvE~ even she can't keep up.

I think I said on here I felt sorry for her because she must be lonely. I can now see why she can't keep friends. She's a mean, unkind liar and I feel sorry for any child she brings up in that environment.

And when she constantly references masturbation.. {eye roll}. I think she thinks it makes her seem worldly but it sits really oddly for me in a piece of, frankly, crap prose.

Yeah I've freelanced on features desks/digital/done shifts. It's a small world and I've worked with a few people she's filed copy to/pitched to and they are not keen. They commission her for the following/online profile as mag sales are going down. I'd agree people on other desks aren't aware of her, but those whose lives she "touches" most certainly are! I think I've said it before, but she's rude (unless she's lickin ya bum) and her copy is dire.
Excellent insight. Yeah I def think she’s a bum licker of the highest order. Can also imagine she’s rude to anyone she deems beneath her.

So I’ve always wondered about her Red colum specifically because it had zero theme and was just a load of poorly-written waffle... did she purely get that for the followers? And sucking up to the Ed? Do we know how much she got paid?

I’ve said this before, but I will never forget the Red column proclaiming the first season of Queer Eye was the most feminist show on TV. Literally a show about five men teaching (at the time) other men to dress and cook and decorate was feminist, because “anti toxic masculinity” or something. I still am lost for words, to be honest.

I’m glad she’s getting roasted for her post choices (it says the post has been edited so not sure what it read before). And her response? You’re a grown woman FFS, you should know this isn’t the time or place for your silly characters.

Also, having a scroll through the people she follows it’s just a bunch of white faces and brands. Maybe if she took a look outside of her social bubble she might actually learn something

I tell you what isn’t on lockdown and is getting out there more than any of us put together.. that bloody tongue of hers! It’s out in force today, featuring in every story. She’s also cracked out the old medley of accents. You could play LJW bingo with her current output; we just need one of her outfit characters and a reference to wanking....

Who are these people spending money on pre-recorded classes that she’s recycling from past online courses? Crazy. She writes such shitty novels, why on earth would you want to learn anything from her?

This new look screams of Karen to me. Dire. Think edgy Laura has spent too long out of the city, she’s dressing like she’s a 55 yo all brown cords, sensible shoes and an arthritic dachshund.
