Krocks In The Kitchen

So far I haven’t seen anyone who seems to have a strong dislike for the Krocks. I think we’re just interested in having people to talk to about what’s going on with them since there doesn’t seem to be any other place to do so.

Hopefully nobody makes them aware of this thread. They don’t strike me as the type of people who Google themselves or have Google alerts set up for their name, so if nobody brings their attention to it they might not ever know it exists.

Wow! You guys are way more familiar with them. Youtube only recommended me their video about the suspected cancer. I hope some others who were invested in Jessica's cancer journey will join this thread. I think it was @Turaj, @mayday mayday, @AlwaysScience. We really should have opened a thread on them when the cancer was still present and we had many questions and doubts. We had great medical discussions back then. And we weren't shady or making up gossip or drama. So many great Krocks discussions are scattered all over Tiffany's threads
Hi all 👋 I didnt watch many of the K videos but I was really impressed with how Brian explained what was happening, he read aloud the actual path reports (which can be kinda daunting to folks not familiar with medical terminology) and at least once showed the actual radiology images. While I understand why they went for a second opinion at Mayo, what I don't understand is why they chose to receive the chemo there. I thought at first that Mayo had offered them a novel treatment (maybe some new drug that had recently been approved by the FDA) or heck ... had a clinical trial that Jessica was eligible to enroll in. But no, she received carbo/taxol which is the garden variety standard of care. Any medical oncologist in the St Louis area could have treated her with carbo/taxol, with the gyne onc at Mayo kept informed of her progress towards the planned surgery at Mayo. Why make those long drives to Mayo while accruing all of the extra expenses? At the time I didn't know that Brian had lost his job ... which makes any extra spending more questionable. [At work we recently had a 30- something patient dx with a widespread Stage 4 colon cancer. The patient received chemo with us then had surgery and HIPEC at a hospital on the other side of the country). So it can be done. Maybe I should see if this person has a YT channel, I'm only half joking 😐. Jeez at some point this could happen...I'll see one of our actual patients on the YT.

Maybe that was just their comfort zone being at Mayo. They had GoFundMe so had plenty of money for the added expenses. I think she might of actually had some side effects a couple of times and went into Mayo during chemo but I might be mistaken.

She probably just felt more comfortable at Mayo because it's one of the top cancer hospitals in the country (they are currently ranked #3 in most 2023 lists) and they are also pioneers when it comes to research.

In the end, it worked out for her because she's now apparently cancer free. It's wild that the surgery that did this for her almost didn't happen, though, and it only ended up being approved because one doctor said that she thought it was worth a try.

I've been wondering about what Jessica said about the cousin. She said she was to have ablation procedure before but decided against it in case she could help someone in the future have a baby since she still had working parts. And I think she said the cousin actually offered first, 'out of the blue'. Is this a common thing, to put off a procedure in the off chance you will carry someone's baby down the road?

When I heard they used a cousin as a surrogate mother, my first reaction was to be happy that they didn’t exploit some poor woman from another country like a lot of people do, but my second reaction was that it might lead to a whole lot of mess. So many people enter these arrangements thinking everyone’s going to be cool with it — the surrogate mother won’t get attached and the biological mother won’t get jealous or insecure — and yet drama often arises because these emotions pop up anyway no matter what the original intentions were.
Interesting anecdote .. at least to me LOL. A doctor at work had two surrogate moms carrying babies ... at the same time!! The babies were born 5 months apart. So they can't really be called twins ..

I think Jessica would have a nervous breakdown if she discovered she had a thread on Tattle. Silly stupid teasing on her channel caused a mental health decline. Very fragile lady.
I know right!! That's what happens when you share your privacy with the world and make an income from it. I think (hope) that Jessica and Brian will handle things online well. As long as they "make good choices" they will be OK here.

You know the cap Sarah was wearing in bed? They had literally just had it printed and sent to them! Pimping merch!

Nothing would suprise me anymore. TBH if l knew one of my patients had a YT channel l wouldn't watch, or ld transfer their care as l truly don't think ld be able to seperate the patient from the you Tuber.

Aha .... thank you. I didn't know about their GFM.
They mentioned it in their latest video announcing baby Girl, Brian said they still had money left over (l do believe they shut it down a little while ago) and he planned to update everyone on what they would do with the remainder. 👍

Isn't that called "Irish twins" when 2 siblings are born in the sane year? Someone might correct me if lm wrong.

Thank you Leonor for opening this thread. I have only followed them since she had the bike accident and then the diagnosis. Not someone that seeks out cooking channels although some of Brian's recipes do look good.I was and am leery of a TL thread for them and hope it can avoid some of the speculation of the Jenny forum. Yep the timing when you consider when this process began it is really fast....I think it is planned as I do believe they are realists and know something can come up again. The intention it seems from some of Jessica's own words are for Brian to raise the child if Jessica were not here. They now have a better situation and hopeful they can both be here for Elsie. I hope they don't find this channel but they no doubt will.

As for the chemo we live In Minneapolis less than 2hours from Mayo and I know at least for most cases they recommend you have the chemo at home...much easier for those that experience side effects. They are fine with that...why Jessie chose to return there for each treatment I don't know but may be other factors ...I do know they prefer to do their own scans/mri tests etc. Maybe insurance issues...really not a big issue...they drove and stayed in modest accommodations.

To be honest I find it worse if they are realists and deliberately having a baby they think is going to lose it's mother. A baby is not a salve for Brian if Jessica isn't around. Everyone is talking about it from their point what about the child?
As someone said how are they going to cope with a newborn if Jessica gets ill again?
They struggled when it was just the two of them.
When did people get so selfish? I child isn't something we have for our own amusement!

I offer no opinion on the wisdom of this move only my thoughts on what they may have been thinking.

They definitely have a very challenging road ahead. They are still apparently living in Brian’s parents’ house and from their last livestream it seems like they feel cooped up in one room. Add a baby to that and it’s going to be really tough. As far as I know, Brian hasn’t found another job yet and Jessica will probably want to find employment too now that the cancer seems to be behind her. They are going to be very very busy.

as I recall Jessica has been working during treatment...I remember her mentioning work.I may be off on that but remember thinking that was tough given how she felt physically and mentally.Brian is not working as I understand it.

I wish I could think that the cancer's behind her.

I feel confident Brian and Jessica thought through all aspects of bringing a child into their life. They are intelligent and I unselfish.

Jessica has worked at a concert PR company for many years. She has always posted attending many concerts because of her job.

Brian was a podcast producer at his last job

Jessica had been pretty much unemployed for the past few years because of COVID — she was furloughed indefinitely. Not any concerts going on during the pandemic. I don’t know if she’s mentioned things picking up again.
