I mean it was 2023, they were all adults. This isn't the same as something someone said when they were teenagers in a different social/political environment.

As my non catholic friends and family will testify they got taught a lot of British History, not a lot about the world aspects unless related to Britain & favouring their involvement and definitely no Irish history.
I would bet that schools in the mainland UK followed the same pattern

Went to school in England - we weren’t taught any Irish history. Which is ridiculous when you think of how intrinsic it is to British history and Britain today. To be fair we taught about Romans, a bit about the Tudors, Victorians and WW1 and 2 in relation to British history. I don’t know what it is now but I feel like it should be changed to include teachings about Wales, Ireland and Scotland and not have it so English upper class focused.

What was non apologetic about their apology they can’t really win can they?

They claimed "kill your local MP " was taken out of context but I don't know what context that would be ok and they didn't explain in what context they meant it that would be ok

When I heard that Kneecap got banned from Canada, that pissed me off. Then I read it was a tweet from MP Vince Gasparro and asked myself "who the hell is that?" He is a parliamentary secretary for combatting crime, not a cabinet minister, yet he thinks he can just announce them getting banned. Here is another thing that is bizarre, neither the Justice Minister nor the Minister for Immigration and Refugees in Canada have made any ban announcement about Kneecap. Kneecap says they are going to sue his arse. Good luck to them.
