Same here, Wilma. My mother lived in South Africa and she was also on oxygen 24/7 and declining. I had been on holiday in June last year, returning July. End of September she took a bad turn and I offered to resign so that I could go back home. I was made an offer at work to work from there for 7 weeks. Got back to London and just over a week later was informed she was end of life. I immediately went back. She passed away a week after I had arrived in December. I’m not rich and it’s expensive to fly to South Africa, but I did not care! I wanted to be with my mother, not run away to the other end of where she was. I also made sure I did lateral flow tests to make sure I was not transmitting anything to her!My mum had a lung condition all of her life. It killed her in the end and she died in my arms. I was with her every day as we lived together. She was my best friend to the last. There was no way I would ever have abandoned her for holidays or my own gratification. It was my absolute honour to look after her and this makes me hate Skanky even more.
