Her travel content is good & they do lots of the not your average tourist stuff, but let’s be real she ONLY does/ can do this, because they’re spending an obscene amount of money to do so

She never shares any costings (unless something was dirt cheap) so this holiday probably is going to cost upwards of 15-20k for the 5 of them so her content always looks good because she is paying for it to fit that aesthetic

Unpopular opinion but I think the holiday looks really dull. Going all the way to Tokyo because it’s the only place you can customise an adidas tshirt 👀 not for me. The cotton robe chat, the egg 😴

I think it’s cool to see new things and have experiences that please the whole family. I’m not a fan of all inclusive holidays where everyone just lies by the pool and goes to the buffet/disco at night, however that works for some people. Saying that I really do think that these trips completely revolve around the viral places Katie has seen on instagram/tiktok/blogs- when they are in America doing their road trips they spend so much time in the car (Jon always driving) and the kids in the back on a iPad- everyone looks utterly bored- all in order to travel to some super cool Airbnb (Joshua tree) or a photograph spot- but the practicalities of that involve endless hours on a highway. I do like watching her content, it’s interesting and different- however to actually experience the trip with children- I’m not sure I would fancy it. She’s never actually explained why she always wanted to visit Japan from as early as being a little girl- I don’t really buy it.

Seems to be the trendy place to be atm, there’s 4 people on my feed also there (not with kids due back in school though, all childless couples).

I also don’t like the package holidays where you don’t experience a place properly but there’s plenty of exploring that can be done without spending thousands going all the way to Japan to eat a gross egg, live out of vending machines, and film trains. There’s loads to do in the UK and Europe for starters.

I noticed she said a couple of times on recent stories that Wren is “super excited” about various things, after it was said here that the kids look bored. If he likes trains, there’s some lovely steam engines in the UK that still run.

I like Katie and her content. In fact I love her travel content and find it very well informative if your into that kind of thing. But Japan looks dull which is a shame as it was next on my bucket list… I have a deer farm in my town 😭 maybe it’s been harder with the kids than she thought so they haven’t been able to do what they expected. My friend travelled Japan last year and it looked spectacular

I think the problem is that she’s going to all the same spots that everyone who’s been to Japan recently have been to, which doesn’t make it interesting at all.

I’m going to Japan this year. I was meant to go around fifteen years ago but I cancelled due to a health condition and only rebooked recently.

I was hoping that Katie would visit some unique and interesting spots in Japan and not just follow the usual tourist trail, but obviously not.

Then again, at least she isn’t doing what some of the others are doing and only going to Disney and nothing else.

This just about sums her up - queued ages to try something she didn’t like (and knew she probably wouldn’t as it’s octopus and she doesn’t like seafood) because lots of other people were doing the same.

Given the amount of content she’s repeating on stories and grid, they’re either not doing very much and she’s bored or she’s not getting the engagement she hoped for. For all the “living the dream” tit she chats, it must be draining to have to live in your phone on holiday.

Why is she trying to dress like her kids? Long shorts and a sports zip up. She looks ridiculous!

she's trying to highlight that she is as thin as her girls. it's very unhealthy

I’m surprised she’s not had the usual “taking kids out of school” comments. Surely on top of their 7k flights, there’ll be fines for both parents for 3 kids

Unless they’re at private schools.
Definitely not privately educated. She’s talked about the primary school they attend many times and it’s definitely not a private school.

also she mentioned about Lottie getting her place at the same secondary school as her sister when the school places were announced.

I doubt they’d have the cash flow for private even if they’d wanted to. She’s always said how bad she is with money.

She just doesn’t know who she really is. Constantly searching for an aesthetic but it’s not her true self. I don’t think she’s happy really deep down, JonJon always looks henpecked.

Have they? I know some schools add on an extra week after half term. If the girls school have I don't think Wren missing a week will do any harm.

Would disagree if they were just sitting round a pool all day but going to Japan is worth a week off school IMO.

Agree that what she has shared hasn't been very inspirational though. Her travel stuff is alway really good but this trip seems quite flat compared to others.
