I have seen other female comedians imply stuff about Russell Brand too, not naming him directly, but it's very obvious who they are talking about. I think Kiri Pritchard McLean alluded to the fact that one of the broadsheets was working on an article on the 'unnamed comedian' but it had come up against some delays. This was quite a while ago though

It's definitely 100% Russell Brand. That bleep has it coming to him, I know of three journalists who have been trying to get pieces published and they never get past the lawyers. Everybody in the industry knows, as KR alluded. They can't say anything publicly because he is a litigious bleep and also has a lot of people in high places he could take down with him. I only hope one day one of his victims decides to duck the NDA into the sun and crowdfunds if he sues her.
Genuine question, because I’m clueless about this sort of thing, but how could Brand sue someone for accusing him of grape? As in, wouldn’t it have to go to trial etc and he’d be found guilty?

Separate things. Defamation is civil. Also, it's a higher burden of proof in criminal cases and they often fail for grape. Ugh it's just horrible. Even if you can take the financial burden, I'm not sure I'd ever go public with grape allegations against someone rich and famous (unless it was a critical mass of women but that's so hard to know if youre all under NDAs), simply because you will be slut shamed to hell, probably called a liar, have your entire life combed through and probably lose any court case. It's the absolute worst. I can't see why any victim would ever further ruin their life to be honest.
Who are the people in high places protecting him? Are we talking TV execs or what?

TV execs, Edinburgh Fringe organisers (I know somebody who witnessed him assaulting a woman twenty five years ago, reported it to management and nothing happened) - loads of people have enabled it and are shitting themselves that when it comes out they will be hauled over the coals for ignoring/hiding it like the BBC were with Savile.
And yes, imagine the damage the US Heard/Depp case did to women considering coming forward. You just wouldn't bother would you? Take the money and run.
I don’t doubt RB has it in him to be unsavoury and I’m sure there’s stuff to come out about him but I don’t think KR was talking about him. I think Omid Djalili is far more likely given the timeframe.

It can happen, it happened with Weinstein. All those women had NDAs- how many did he enforce/ sue for breaching? None, as far as I am aware.
Breaking an NDA only puts you at risk of being sued. So you can understand why KR is scared of losing her home in a legal battle. But she’s spoken up, and if enough people join in those ndas are worthless

Weinstein is the exception rather than the rule. If you can even find out who the other people are (which isn't easy) getting sued is not your only difficulty. It's less the suing that relates to the breach of confidentiality and more the suing for defamation (see Depp and Heard). Then you really are dragging it through the civil courts, getting quizzed on every aspect of your sex life in public. Whatever you think about that case, it generally doesn't go well for the person speaking out. Getting sued is brutal but having your entire character and life destroyed is another matter.
Replaced by Jonathan Ross after just one series and it was never explained. The press just said Ross is replacing Brand. It didn't even give some media talk like saying Brand quit because of pay or busy schedules or something. It was all very weird. Katherine saying it's someone she called a predator every day fits him as they will have filmed the series in a block of consecutive days.
