I watched the Louie Theroux episode with her and it was still hard to get a sense of who she really was/is. All I got from it was that she doesn't care what anyone thinks.
Can you elaborate on her lying about him burning the bed? Wasn’t there video evidence of it?? I just can’t fathom why she would lie about such a thing and make her husband look so abusive if he isn’t.
Then again, I can’t fathom why she would tell the world about it if it is true. Does she think it’s a cute and whacky anecdote?? Bizarre.

Just listened to her latest podcast and I hated it!! Used to be my favourite and look forward to it every week. What on earth has happened to this woman? She’s got such a high sense of self importance it’s unreal. It’s like she genuinely thinks everyone else is beneath her. From “muggles” to people who enjoy date night ideas and even her own sister - “it’s nice to know you had a massage Joanne”. Is she OK? Why was she asking us mere mortals advice about her partner who calls her his ex wife? She already knows she’s going to do nothing about it because that’s the “Katherine Ryan way” so why bring attention to it? To make herself seem more desirable? Also, no one wants to hear about your kids, it’s boring as duck.
In the latest episode of her podcast she spends ages explaining that she actually knew all along that Bobby had burned the cat bed and that the whole thing was a 'bit'/scene/sketch. I just don't buy that, for the reasons you mention - a) its not actually at all funny, and b) unless she's Oscar-level at acting, her shock and distress when the footage was playing was real.
She's got lots of form for trying to explain away BK's bull. Two examples that spring to mind are when he said on the podcast that if a woman their age has never been in a long term relationship there must be something wrong with her- she said it was her fault for 'editing him badly'
and when there was a fire on their balcony caused by a cigarette - she said the fireman told her a bird had dropped a lit fag end while flying overhead, and it definitely wasn't confirmed smoker BK, definitely not 
That one was so ridiculous it does read like a joke, but there was no hint of that in her delivery of the story...Every time he does something awful, she bends over backwards to justify it and try to cast him in a better light and assure us it's not what think/how it looks. Bad bad vibes indeed
I still like the podcast because I do appreciate her being honest with her opinions and it can give me pause and make me think about things in a different way. Whilst I am not opposed to cancel culture (which I think is just holding people accountable for crappy actions); I think a lot of people in the public eye are only allowed one opinion on most topics and if it doesn’t track with the current majority then they’re attacked for it. Therefore so many people seem afraid to say anything provocative. Now that being said, racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic etc opinions are never ok in my opinion and I wouldn’t listen to or endorse anyone who holds them, and unfortunately most people in the public domain seem to be one extreme or the other, with echo chambers at each end of the spectrum. So I appreciate listening to Katherine as something of a middle ground.
She has had some takes that I wholeheartedly disagree with. Some examples that come to mind are:
1. her blind defensiveness of all comedy and opinion that no joke is off limits, it is a slippery slope into censorship etc. I’m sorry but some jokes are off limits. Jokes about the holocaust for example are disgusting in my opinion. Millions, including thousands of children, were slaughtered. That is not a topic to joke about IMO.
2. Her arguement that the cat bed burning thing was a set up designed to provoke women into recognising abuse in their own lives - that argument holds no merit when the only people you admit the ‘truth’ to are your podcaster listeners. The people seeing it on TV and TikTok just believe you’re endorsing/cool with abusive behaviour because you haven’t explained you were in on the “joke”
3. Her constant “I’m not like other girls” narrative. Someone wrote in saying she didn’t want to swallow during oral and Katherne told her to just get over it and do it as it “doesn’t taste bad”. That is terrible advice! Nobody should feel pressured to ingest anything they don’t want to or do anything sexually they don’t want to. We wouldn’t be expected to be cool with drinking any other bodily fluid (spit, wee, blood) so we do we have to accept swallowing rum?!
4. Her constantly trying to make Bobby happen. Nobody thinks he is hot or interesting apart from her. And I don’t even think she finds him interesting.
5. I LOATHE her fashion sense
ETA they deffo could’ve given that cat bed to an animal sanctuary- her argument of not knowing how to get it there is ridiculous when it clearly made its way to her house somehow. She has enough money to pay a courier service or man with a van to take it. I’m sure a sanctuary would’ve absolutely loved it as a good bit of PR if nothing else.

This weeks podcast was unreal. Calling us commoners ‘muggles’ while she, the magical wizard is above such cringey things as date nights and making memories. She’s actually saying ‘I’m better than you lot’. I’m normally a fan but she was nasty and condescending. Covering up for Bobby. Being horrible to her sister and the small business owner was a reaction to her annoyance at the ‘cancel Bobby’ chat, clearly. She has a desperate need to be seen as chill and nothing bothering her but she was livid and her true colours came shining through.
We are very much on the same wavelength! I usually still find the podcast reasonably entertaining listening (although I really didn't like the last one with all its mean girl vibes) and I do still like her. So it makes me sad to see the way she lies to other and more importantly herself about Bobby. Was the cat bed burning a) some sort of sketch about her materialism? Or b) a stealth PSA about abusive relationships (on a light entertainment comedy show
) Neither of those explanations ring true and that's because imo they aren't. You're exactly right - of course they could have given the cat bed away. In the footage of the show you can hear her saying "but we could have given it away?!" and you know that was her genuine response.She's started to refer to Bobby as though he's a celebrity as well and is clearly trying to form a brand with him (she dropped a mention of filming pilots together) - as I said before upthread: stop trying to make BK happen. He's not going to happen. I also agree with the poster who said they initially found him good looking - I did too but now his face makes my skin crawl!
Re her fashion sense: I am the least fashionable person in the world and I try not to comment on appearances on the whole - but as it's her clothes not her actual looks in question...geez most of her outfits absolutely baffle me. Most of her outfits are Mennonite meets TOWIE.

I’m 15 minutes in to the latest podcast, which I would usually listen to right away but am only getting round to now. She has been talking about the urine and excrement of her two toddlers for a good 15 minutes now- wtf? Why on earth does she think anyone is interested in this. I am not against some parenting chat but come on.
I’ve said before, she’s clearly in a very different phase of her life to 5 years ago, and that’s great, but there’s no need to fill over an hour with literal rit talk. I like the agony aunt stuff and I like some kind of funny commentary on the week- I don’t care about your kids’ piss and tit, or your controlling borderline antivax type attitude to antibiotics. Snore!

This weeks podcast was so dull I didn’t get to the end of it. Endless drivel about how Bobby makes spag Bol, her sick bug, the baby’s urine infection then that nonsense about the cat thing and slagging off about her sister … by that point I’d lost the will to live 
I was chuckling when her sister said what 'leaded' instead of what 'lead' on most recent podcast. Whenever she is on she speaks and make mistakes like my almost 5 yo who is yet to start school. They just sounds like horrible mean girls together and try so hard to sound smart.
Also the sisters doth protest too much about BK not being abusive. Also she was keeping/had kept the TikTok from him, why? I would be blowing up my husbands phone about it, even if he was at a 4 hour round of golf.

I think BK has isolated her from her friends. You hardly ever see her with Sara Pascoe, Aisling Bea, people she used to be really close friends with. She is unhappy so she has become a nasty person and she won't admit she is unhappy in her relationship and he's a controlling scumbag. I'm sure her friends hate him and thats part of why she seems to have no friends anymore. She is on such a slippery slope into rightwing/antivax/Jordan Peterson/antiwoke type tit.

I am so bothered by the latest podcast. All bed burning aside, why was she so thoroughly cruel and nasty to the woman who wrote in about date night ideas? I couldn’t listen to it all because it was like bullying by a mean girl and wound me up. Really unnecessarily spiteful. She has no idea what that listener might be going through irl. There was no need for it.
