Exactly. Saying things like that make sense when someone is working full time and looking forward to the weekend. But I really fail to see how the weekend is any different from a weekday for her when all she does is leisure activities

Going to a friend's 90th birthday party does make me feel a bit sad for her. Socialising with pensioners is better than not socialising at all, but it doesn't compare to having friends your own age.

I would feel sorry for her, but she actively chooses to hang out with these people and seems to genuinely enjoy it. If she wanted to make friends her own age then I’ve no doubt that she could.
However, I often get the vibe that she kinda looks down on people her own age. I think she thinks she’s super mature and they’re too young and stupid to be worth being friends with. I dunno haha maybe I’m wrong, I know she says about bullying in school, and I totally understand that could also be a reason why she stays away from other young people.
