I have 2 small children, not far off from the ages of Besters kids. I also relocated out of my original country, so much like Boomshakatwatface, I don't have all the family support I'd like.
My running significantly decreased with each child. I either run super early or super late, not only because there is so much to do, but I want to be there as much as I can for my kids, I want them to know who I am, and I want to see them grow.
Does Bester spend any time with either of his kids or even just his wife? Really doesn't seem like it.
One day all he will have to look back on is some Strava memories and videos of him running all over. Time passes by so fast. Will he even remember his kids growing up?

But you have to remember he doesn't have a proper job like most people, he doesn't even seem to much of the coaching admin, he passed that on to other people to do. So he probably does have a lot of free time to spend with his family, poor family.

I actually forgot he didn’t have a regular job! Ha! So I guess it makes a bit more sense although most men would be able to take 2 weeks paternity leave at least instead of posting on social media and training for marathons constantly and ripping people off with his generic training plans.

I have no posts about family on my running account, does that mean I never spend time with my family? And I had a look back at his last few family posts and didn't see the word duties anywhere....But he sells giant analysis as part of his coaching qualifications. So why send them to sports direct and surely he could do his own being all qualified and that

Yeah I was thinking this and not sure why he’d go there to buy some adidas shoes when he must get free/huge discounts being a run leader for adidas runners. Clearly an ad but he won’t declare it
I know someone who paid Bester for the gait analysis, which was around £130 and it didn’t change a thing. This was also before Bester had completed his Cirf course so if he was claiming to be qualified by virtue of that, he’s a proper crook! (Can’t argue that Cirf teaches you gait analysis and certainly not to the level where you can charge that much!)

If this is the case, I think it is completely unjust and unfair for her to be running with her coach. She's competing in an England vest, so surely having your coach alongside you who will be able to not only pace but motivate/encourage puts you at an unfair advantage to your competitors, no? I like her alot, but don't understand why she can't run a marathon without him by her side - or maybe it's just Bester wanting to hog some limelight for himself, which I wouldn't put past him.looks like form Anya’s story that she is running it with Nick
I'd like to think she will eventually see the light and get a proper coach, but it seems she's in deep.
I recall from my time as a junior athlete that coaching from the inside of the track was against the rules. No idea if this is still the case or applicable to marathons. But pacers do exist so

like I know pacers are strategic in the elites, like Butchart pacing Farah at London when they had obviously discussed tactics is fine but having a coach feels more…reliant on them? It could just be Bester hogging the limelight, but surely he’s been told to calm in? Surely anya can run a marathon without having her hand held
