Yes it was kept quiet at the time (not to protect Lucy either but the show). She was sexually assaulted by a hotel worker who went into her room whilst she slept. The producers then convinced her to leave the show basically and pretend it was about something else
Thankfully the person who did it was caught and went to prison. It was very strange how years later her and Simon were suddenly close. I think he gave her money or something personally years after when she realised what they did was wrong and he tried to help her relaunch a career then too! Sorry to derail!!
To be fair I think the documentary was made done and dusted before she realised the girls had issues?
It's very difficult to just completely scrap work that has been done. Staff need to be paid, production crew etc.

I don't think there are many lifeforms lower than a reality show producer.
I could never do that job and sleep at night.
The way the two of them seem so tethered now is alarming. There was something so uneasy about how he was as if overnight this dependable father figure to her. It gave me the creeps, I've no doubt he's just keeping her happy so she doesn't say whatever he doesn't want her to say.
For her part, I hope she is rinsing him for all she's worth.

My partners brother couldn't attend our wedding due to work, we still speak. Our wedding was just one day and it was always going to be more important to us than other people.
IIRC he made the family take sides and doesn’t speak to any of them now. I guess there must be deeper issues like @Jennytea said
