She got the dress used off Poshmark dirt cheap, she mentioned that in her packing video last week. But has to throw out the “I bought a new dress and everything” oh whoa is me crap for the faux empathy from her stans.

Here’s a novel concept Jen, most of us do buy new clothes or an outfit or two when we’re going on vacation because we only go once or maybe twice a year.

My bestie and her husband are going on their first cruise at the end of March. I guess the FB group for this Celebrity cruise has people falling on the side of really dressing up so she’s bought a few things from Shein and H&M for the evenings because who dresses up to go out at home anymore?! She said if they like cruising then she’ll have her dressy clothes going forward and if not she hasn’t dropped a tonne of money. My other bestie is going on RCCL for March Break and she got a couple of things for the theme nights at Walmart and our local second hand shop.

God forbid Jen buy a red dress from Walmart or Target for $20 that she’s possibly going to wear once. She’d probably say she’d got a rash from the poor quality. Must only wear her merino wool tshirts and Spanx jumpsuit that cost $150-200 each.
Jesus. I can hear her saying, "Can you believe they didn't have mybrand of water, just brandserved water?"
Our neighbors do a good amount of cruising. They're pretty comfortable, but reasonable in that they have money to spend and aren't afraid to, but don't act like they were in Treblinka if some minor thing happens. They really liked Virgin. The guy is probably about the same age as Mr. Jen and does workout a good bit. He said it was the best food they've had at sea and they've been on RCL, NCL, Celebrity and I'm sure others.

Exactly! Everyone talks about how great the food is but they thought the portions were too small and they couldn’t get into any of the restaurants supposedly until 9 pm because they booked so last minute so they just ate at the buffet 3/4 nights. There’s multiple places to eat on the ship so that makes zero sense to me.

The way she spoke about the toiletries in the cabin bathroom was the same way she trashed the Disney sheet thread count a couple of months ago, I don’t know what la la land this woman lives in but I couldn’t care less about the products or the sheets or the mattress. You’re on board for 4 nights. Get a god damn grip! I find all of that rubs me completely the wrong way.

I do like to see what products places have, and if I like them, order them when I get home. But if I don't, I just use them for the time I'm there and then I'm done. I haven't been waterboarded.
Our neighbor said nothing about waiting or anything. Just that they loved the food. And, it's a cruise, just ask for more, they'll bring it to you.

I’m like you, if I like something in the room then i might try to get it at home but often I just leave the stuff and use my own. Years of backpacking and staying in hostels has me conditioned to bring my own stuff. My friends teased me the first time we were going away for a weekend after I moved to Toronto and I called the hotel and asked if they provided towels, 🤣🤣🤣 I was so used to hostels and small places I had no idea who did and didn’t anymore, lol

I was under the impression the only use for bar soap in a hotel etc. is to wash your hands with at the sink. She’s complaining for the sake of it.

I thought the anecdote about her crying when at dinner she met the cast of the show she’d seen was fake as duck too. Seriously, get a grip. This is like her crying when she claims that a DCL waiter remembers her favourite pasta dish. Fake. Fake. Fake. None of them give a tit about you Jen. They’re doing their jobs.

I don't like shower gel, so I'll ask for another bar of soap and put it in the shower.

And you know what else they have? Databases of your sailings and assigned seating. So, the guy saw her name and probably thought, "Oh that annoying woman with the 'I wish I was a quirky artist' hair. How'd I get her again?"

They must wonder who the duck hates them off at head office to end up with her and Twattan on the regular in Concierge and the adults only restaurant. 🤣

I’m sorry what?! So the McMansion isn’t paid off while going on a vacation a month. Now liquidating DVC to pay it down. Make this make sense to me?! Atlanta suburbs weren’t overly expensive back when they would have bought this house.

She is such a loon. I initially found a video of her talking about DVC. At that point, they'd bought, sold and bought again, but I'm reasonably sure she didn't mention Old Key West in that video, so this one has just been hanging around the whole time?
Some of this to me says she/they have been vastly overspending for a while and she's trying to make it look like she's being smart financially.
Editing in that I think this was also a demand from hubby since she didn't talk about doing so many family trips before, did she?

All these social media types talk about their schedules and their families' schedules as crazy. Guess what? When kids move out, get jobs etc., yeah, their schedule might not line up. It's called life, but if they really wanted it to work, they could find the time. Or, save the points and do one big trip every few years. With DVC, you can bank from prior year, use current year and borrow from next year and use them all at once.

BTW, I don't know a single person who says that they have too much time on their hands.

Another edit: If she's selling 3rd party, those folks won't get the benefits of buying direct, which to me defeats the savings. They can only use for DVC hotels.

Generally the cash savings of buying resale far outweighs any benefits of buying direct. Most of the other options available to DVC members (like adventures by disney or using points for cruises) are a bad value. That said, she could possibly rent out the points for the next few years and put that money toward paying off the mortgage. After a few years they could then decide if selling is still a good idea.

I guess the cash savings depends on what you want to use them for and if you're financing a boatload of money. Disney has right of first refusal, so they're not going to let people drive the points into the bargain basement.
I think it's only bad value to use them on something else if you consider it "taking away" from going to WDW or DL. If you're going to go to WDW, DL, cruises and ABD, and you have the points, use them for what you want to use them for.

Translation: My kids aren’t into Mickey Mouse any more.
I wonder if the husband said, "Hey you're traipsing off with all these other people, why don't you do this less and spend time with the family more?"

They’re probably highly embarassed at their mother’s attempts to become the next Martha Stewart and want nothing to do with her. You can bet your life if they did go to Disney with her she’d be posting them all across the internet like the desperate grifter that she’s shown herself to be.

What’s with all this gushing praise of the husband? I don’t recall her going on about him and how much fun they have etc Whenever people in my life started posting “my darling wife/husband of X years, my rock, my reason, my blah blah” they were divorced soon after. She also put closing her Disney channel on him. She claimed she took his advice. She’s also offloading a DVC contract. A series of strange behaviour.

I think for me, as someone in a single income household with a mortgage making way way less than Scotty and his grifter wife, I just find it so frivolous to spend on multiple trips, especially high cost ones, when you’re still paying down your mortgage in your mid 50s and approaching retirement. There’s no way that her annual DVC points cover all of her stays at WDW and on the cruises. Atleast I wouldn’t think so but DVC is so convoluted who knows. 🤷🏻‍♀️

If I had a second income coming in, my mortgage would already be paid off by now at 46. I’m just floored that with his income it’s not already paid off. But I guess that’s what happens when you spend to keep up appearances of grandeur. One family vacation and one couple vacation a year sure… but the woman went to Europe twice a month apart, Japan, and multiple WDW and DCL trips last year plus others I’m probably forgetting.

The whole strategy is highly suspect. One minute she’s bragging on about her successful YouTube career and selling “coaching” on how to be successful on YouTuber then next minute she’s closing the channel that primarily features Disney down. Next she’s selling her DVC points because “crazy schedules” 🙄.
Now we find she’s still got a mortgage despite being so “successful “, and of course working “very hard” and being married to someone in a very well paid profession. Maybe Scotty has put his bleeping foot down and told her to pack it in with the spending on Disney trips, merch and high end aspirational shopping. Good!

I thought they paid for their 3 sons to go to college? Am I wrong in thinking that so would make sense they still have a mortgage.
I am guessing she is selling OKW because of limitations on the Riviera contract?
Agree with someone else above that the family have grown out of Disney and probably outgrown the rooms too and so would rather go elsewhere. It is just Jen who is holding onto this Disney magic idea as it got her viewers

Lots of people help their kids with college, go on trips and pay off their mortgage. My bestie lives just outside Vancouver where housing is obscene and she and her husband have a year left on their’s in their early 50s while working very middle class hourly waged jobs. Their kids have just graduated without debt and have worked jobs since high school. They’ve travelled annually but nothing obscene like Jen.

I think it’s knowing how high his salary would be along with the lower cost of the Atlanta burbs that’s flooring me in this situation.

There are a lot of reasons people could have a mortgage at different ages, but yeah, to flex about all these other things and still have one, plus shutting down her "successful business" or half of it and basically seeming to ditch all the Disney stuff at once, all seems odd.
