Haven't read the link cause it's the DM but maybe it's the grief?
- She didn't want to look for him in fear of finding his body.
- She kept saying for him to be given back/let go.
- She had said she was encouraging him to go on this holiday, that he'd love it and want to go again.

She was definitely caught up in the hope that he had been abducted or someone knew where he was, delusional hope keeping her going? She broke when she said she "couldn't bear to see him lying somewhere", so I wonder if that was because at that time she could hold onto the hope and the frenzy that was ongoing?

I've never been in her position, I can't imagine how much he doesn't look like her son but maybe at this time she thinks she will be able to confirm it is him. It would definitely be damaging for her 😞.

In saying that, my Gran was Irish and I thought it was normal for everyone to bring the body home and have the coffin laying open in the living room for the two days before a funeral 😂😂.

At the same time, I can kind of understand the needing to see her son, for one last time, not only to say goodbye and so he isn't alone for a moment, but also for her brain to finally make the connection that has is truly gone and not still missing 💔
Irish person here🙋‍♀️It is the custom here to have the coffin either at home or in the parish centre next to the church or the funeral home. The coffin tends to be open so everyone can view the body and pay their respects. This is done for ‘normal’ deaths. If it’s a young person it tends to be in the home house. Also bear in mind we bury/cremate three days after death and not two weeks like the UK. Funerals are attended by everyone and not just immediate family.
Apparently, it’s a very healthy way of dealing with death and getting closure, according to psychologists. We do weddings and funerals really, really well. But I know Irish funerals were a shock to my English cousins.

Yeah the way he said its now 2.45 am and I need to get out of tenerife right now 😳 sounds a bit iffy don't it like he's being chased out of there 😳 and how something had happened in the evening which stopped him spending some time with Jay's family 😕
Judging by his precious antics, this sort of clickbaity nonsense is how he builds views. He'll be thriving on all the people in the comments calling him a hero and worrying for his safety. He's fine. Others have said he's previously pretended people are following him and he's afraid to drive up engagement. He's just a narcissistic bellend who has inserted himself into the situation for money and clout.

And we won’t leave the dead alone round the clock till it’s time for them to go to their final resting place. I always thought this was normal and I went to a UK funeral last year, ten days after the person died!!! That’s wild to me.
I'm Jewish, and barring unusual circumstances, we have people buried within 24 hours of death, 48 at most. All funerals are essentially identical.

followed by a week of sitting shiva where the family are never alone and there are prayers at the house every night.

It has been a severe culture shock to marry into a white british family and see literally *weeks* of arguing over the details of the funeral, music, flowers, location, burial vs cremation, etc. Awful for the family.

People can choose to donate but I think the requests for funds can be very emotionally manipulative and also not used for what was stated. They don’t stop or tell people when they have reach the required amount. They carry on accepting donations and don’t tell people what will happen with the extra money.

How many people would donate if the request was ‘please donate so I never have to work again or so I can go on a luxury holiday’.

Anyway if you think this is bad you should check out the gofundme scammers thread. The mother of a 5 year old who died of cancer (who had already exploited her child’s privacy for multiple GFMs) set up a brand new gofundme and posted on Instagram asking for donations just 18 hours after he had died. His own mother.

This twat is getting more publicity and outpourings of grief than the lovely Michael Mosley who has helped numerous people in so many ways! The world has gone mad celebrating the life of some scummy crim!
The reason why this jay slater is getting so much out pouring of love and money is because theres a hell of a lot of scummy people who are exactly the same as him or have kids like him

Not being rude when i say this because i grew up on a council estate but the ones on the page sticking up for debbie and sharing an outpouring of love are the ones who

Live on council estates
Claim beenfits or are in low paid jobs
Have little or basic education
Have nothing better to do then sit around gossiping
Allow their kids to terrorise the local neighbourhood
Will donate money to gfm but feed their kids spaghetti on toast on a daily or put their vaping/drinking before food

Even if they do want him to have a flashy funeral, which no doubt he’ll get. I’d imagine given that there’s an opportunity to get your name in the paper. People will be rushing to give their services for free or heavily discounted.
There’s a funeral company over in Dublin now and one of their “packages” is fucking social media videos where they do shots of the whole thing, interviews outside the church, pics of people putting on their best sad faces, like a wedding style video but for a funeral….they also have the big flashy cars or the chariot with the poxy horses like a state funeral. The only people I’ve seen use them are the FLY HIGH ANGLE chavs, but it does seem to be the new thing 🤮 Debbie will probs fly them over to shoot the footage 🤮

I cannot adequately articulate how much I loathe DTR AKA Paul Arnott. In fact I’m going to type his name a few more times in the hope that when he googles his own name - and he is EXACTLY the type to Google his own name - he will come across this thread, and subsequently his own thread on here, and realise just how despised he is.

PAUL ARNOTT. PAUL ARNOTT. PAUL ARNOTT. PAUL ARNOTT.

People hate you, Paul. They see you for the inadequate, sub-par human being that you are. Everyone sees you. We see your desperation to be somebody. We laugh at your uselessness. We feel nothing but contempt for your delusions.

The only good thing about you is that one look at your stoaty little face makes everyone feel better about themselves. Even the most pathetic specimen looks at you and thinks “Oh well at least I don’t look like that twat, and nobody is ever going to despise me like folk do him”.

Enjoy making money from other people’s misery, you absolute scumbag.
PS for the avoidance of doubt, everyone hates you.

Why is there no mention of the stepdad? Not presenting a united show with Debbie?
Surely, if half the rest of Accrington and surrounding environs can fly back and forth...he would make an appearance with Debbie. (Or get a mention on a card)
Im not too sure if thats him hiding at the back..

He did lose a 14 year old son last year to suicide so I can imagine how tough all this has been on him and most probably wanted to stay out of the limelight.

Ok I get that you are disgusted but like I said no one is forcing people to donate. It just seems weird to me that this would out rage people when he’s actually dead. I hope she uses any money left over to live on so she doesn’t have to go back to work and can grieve the loss of her child without extra worry regardless of the circumstances but that’s just me.
Imagine if we all got money so we could stop working to grieve. Don't be so ridiculous.

Ever since Padders had tea with the Queen he’s become some sort of escort into the afterlife the poor bastard. Beloved bear to the Butler of death in the blink of an eye.

Re viewing his body, that’s a very personal decision and if she decides to do it I hope it brings her some peace. Grief is a really individual process and some people just cannot accept it if they don’t see their loved one, as long as she has support and is treated with dignity and care then she may well find comfort from it. Obvs the authorities will present him in the best way possible for her too.

Re DTR, he def has issues because this carry on isn’t normal man. Island hopping to dander about with nothing more than a pair of sunglasses? Give me a fucking break mate.

Anyone seen any updates from the five minute detective? Or has he gone quiet after getting it all wrong… AGAIN 🙄
Paddington coming to the UK as an IMMIGRANT and taking a perfectly good job of grim reaper from someone born here, ridiculous 😂😂😂
