Exactly, death was harsh at such a young age but as the old saying goes play with fire and you'll get burned. There are young men dying due to drugs and crime every week in the UK and they get a fraction of the attention Jay got.

I think if this was my son, and all the social media conspiracy theorists were saying we hadn't buried him, that he was still out there somewhere and the body in the ground was a random person - I think i would want to clear it up too. Maybe this was the best way they knew how? It's clearly still an issue, Debbie has her MP involved. I dunno, they seem like decent parents.

Jay didn't deserve to die in these circumstances, to me this thread was always more about the absolute hysteria that blew up around his disappearance and some of the utterly unhinged takes from people on social media.

Of course there were valid questions about rhe GoFundMe etc but I do think it's fair the family want TikTok ghouls like DownTheRapids to stop farming likes off Jay's name, and I can't blame them for desperately taking pretend 'experts' at face value when they appear offering 'help'.

i Really felt for all his immediate family. The tackiness and the silly laughs we had aside, they’ve lost someone they loved very much and that made me sad.

For all the laughs we've had on here. Watching his parents at the funeral was heartbreaking.

But then the blue smoke bombs at the graveyard had me shaking my head again.

This is what got to me too . I felt for the family but I also thought it was weird to keep the clothes he died in, in a toolbox/briefcase in the garage . Im still conflicted in a young lad died to the family monetising his death. They say they want the conspiracy theorists to stop yet took the payment off channel 4 to film Jay having an autopsy . Showing the liver was gruesome and didn’t need to be shown . His family would have approved that being filmed and given their consent .
I think they have enjoyed the attention ,reminded me of when Shannon Matthews went missing and the mother lived the attention with press etc.
