I was telling someone about his flying to Glasgow. They said did the University pay? I had assumed that he would have had to meet this cost but now, having seen all the craziness, I'm wondering! She’s lucky she was at Roehampton just down the road from his house. I doubt his students had much opportunity to approach him about their grades or anything else in most of the other institutions he ‘worked’ at. Eg: while a full-time full professor (teaching and research, he’s at pains to clarify) at Glasgow he rocked up in the morning straight off a flight for three days a week and had already ducked off again by mid-afternoon, early enough to get to the airport, through security etc etc etc and get on a 4pm flight back to London. Same with Cambridge was residence requirement relaxed as an adjustment & were travel expenses paid? Tbf a residence requirement seems a bit archaic when someone could commute easily from certain parts (east/north) of London.
