When she first came into the public eye I liked what she stood for and thought cooking on a bootstrap was a great concept. But as I got to know her via twitter she became harder and harder to like - fame and success definitely made it worse. The alcoholism that clearly wasn’t, the trans coming out which I tried to be supportive of but definitely felt like an excuse for victim hood and picking fights on Twitter at times - someone said she’s dropped that now, really ? I had to stop following her but the adhd as her latest thing doesn’t surprise me. I know people in my own life like this, there’s always ‘something’ going on with them. It sounds serious and concerning when you first know them but over time you relaise there is a new thing every month and it’s about attention.

Suing Katie Hopkins successfully was a triumph, she’ll always have that.

It doesn’t surprise me that she’s timid in real life because she’s clearly so insecure, always grasping for some kind of identity and to illicit sympathy.
She did this ghastly video with Georgia toffolo around the 2017 election, for a YouTube series where they brought people with opposing political views together for a meal. I sway much closer to jacks position and am fundamentally very opposed to some of toffs views ... but damn do I know who came out the more likeable, and more open minded to boot.

Maybe I'm wrong but if it's rancid won't the oil have no taste, or have a soapy or metallic smell or taste?

As oil has no protein unlike milk I thought it wasn't obvious when it was rancid. Toasted sesame oil which is what the oil at the top of tahini should have a strong taste in my books if it's good.

Thing is I’m sure I read that her father held quite a high position in the local fire brigade where she worked. Surely, bearing that fact in mind, a compromise could have been reached re her working hours. Makes you wonder if there was more to it.

Her dads position wouldn’t have excused her from doing shift work. Flexible working In Emergency service roles Is dependant on the needs of the business so it’s likely they’d say no to her wishing to only work day shifts

Didn’t she get the tattoos before having her son and having to quit her job because there were only night shifts available at her old work? Pretty sure that’s what I read anyway.

I saw the headline of that article but could not be bothered to read it. I often wondered about her son’s father. Jack wrote in the last year or so how she suffers from various health problems Inc Arthritis. Perhaps she should apply for PIP, or perhaps she already has DLA. I also used to wonder why, if she was so impoverished, that she could afford to get the amount of tattoos she has.

Jack has a very distinctive, and to many people, off putting and unpleasant, appearance and demeanour. She is much more a niche interest than Jamie Oliver and often in difficult times people want pleasant and calm and cheerful familiar faces. I don't actually like Jamie and have no tv so I wont be watching, but I'd far rather see him than her, sorry not sorry.

Also she is quite difficult to watch and listen to. I find she makes me nervous.

I’ve always had my doubts about this woman’s back story......the poverty and food bank use, sexual violence survivor, ex sex worker, self harm, eating disorders, bullied, trans for a bit, alcoholism......

I remember quite a few years ago when I followed her, she was asking for advice after spilling something on her Mulberry handbag and then the next minute she’s crying poverty again. Oh and only buys shoes from Russell & Bromley because their shoes are the only ones that fit.

The show hasn't even been on her for her to know what is and isn't on it? As yet, we have no idea if it infringes on her brand / her recipes / anything else she has a claim to. Jack wasn’t the first to invent the brand of cooking she does, she even admitted adapting others recipes including Jamie Oliver’s, I understand people like her work and it’s admirable to a degree but she is absolutely insufferable and why I’m not even a big fan of Jamie Oliver he an established and well known chef with a long working history with Channel 4, she admit herself she struggles on TV and throwing herself into a quickly put together TV show is disastrous, it just reeks of desperation and Why she may be suffering financial atm taking funds off people who probably can’t afford it because she made bad money decisions is just low.
