I am very much looking forward to learning how to get our weekly food shop down to approx £100/month. Just food. Enough to provide 42 generous meals plus snacks. No need for cleaning/laundry products, or pet food, no hit and miss yellow stickers reduced items which will duck up the meal plan. Just a food meal plan

I've said it before, but when I wasn't doubtful yet of JM, I felt bad that I couldn't get her recipes to work, or to cook as cheaply as she did (I was trying to save money) And she was getting so much praise for it online that I thought it was my fault, rather than it being impossible to eat well for the costs she suggested. I was fortunate that my money saving attempt was just about trying to save for a holiday and some other fun things, rather than being needed to make it through the year. Can't imagine how it must be of you have no financial margin to duck around in

Wasn't just me then. Mine was that I didn't have any money to play with but equally I'm very lucky that I have a family that was able to (and still does at times) help. I’m drunk, I’ve been at a baby shower (which ninnies I know I can tell you was just awful). But Jack Monroe is a big smelly liar. duck you Jack.
Ignoring the harrowing stuff ( two nights in a row she has pulled a shocker) to focus on the much more manageable shopping fandango. How can she make such an epic production out of the weekly shop? I don't understand. A written pre shop "stock take" ( full list of edibles, not just the usual eyeballing the essentials), a jaunty walk, mid supermarket tweet fest with photos, lined up display of purchases and then, as if the receipt wasn't enough, another written list of purchases. In special books.
