It’s not letting me quote @GrannyOgg , but re: food banks, the post I replied to specified “governments with starving voters don’t get re-elected”, so in looking at the voting power of food bank users to effect real change, I was picking up on that language. I would also note that many working-class people run or volunteer with mutual aid groups including food banks. So respectfully, we do disagree — but not, I think, on the desirability of people who are struggling having a better time of it (to put it mildly) the iniquity of the government, or, above all, the absolute shittiness of grifter Jack Monroe!
