This does come back to the whole "Can't lie" thing, I think, and does actually say to me that there's some truth in it, to be honest. Although from my point of view, as someone who - as I've worded it before - finds it psychologically difficult to lie, it should be possible to word it as "I helped a bit" and be okay with that.
And anyone who thinks not being able to lie might be a good thing (to be clear, Jack hasn't said that), I would urge them to watch the Film Liar Liar and see how that turns out .
