Pulse veg peelings in a blender then add to oil and gently soften? 4 mins in you’d have fried veg crumble!

Veg peeling falafel. Please, please no. A whole carrot costs about 7p. Its Christmas! The outer leaves of leeks are horribly tough. How long would it take to chop these with a knife till they are undetectable. But mainly, just no!

Oh LJC the spoons plonked in everything!!! Its so J Arthur Rank! Whyyyy!!!?? Is it meant to make the reader think of eating it? All it makes me think is how I'd have to remove the cutlery from the slop and wipe it before using it

I keep seeing trifles everywhere, Del Montes advent calendar on Instagram was a mandarin trifle, and now another well-known food writer (mentioned on this thread recently) posted this, doesn't that first line sound like something someone else might say

All these food writers with appalling table manners and insufficient crockery… except we know Jack has three Cotswolds* worth

*new measurement for crockery and tableware

Jack’s recipes look utterly tit. What child on Boxing Day is like “I say, mama, shall we use up yesterday’s scraps for some stonking falafel?”. Just duck off. Prime example of Jack’s total lack of clarity around the purpose of her work. Is it thrifty? Hardly, when you tot up the cost of the dried fruit in the tit pudding. Is it zero waste? Does anyone actually have hundreds of grams of dates and nuts left over now that it isn’t Victorian times? They’re not simple recipes to get kids involved with cooking, when there’s pages and pages of block text instructions. It’s not nutrition focused either. Nor will it be delicious. What is she even for?

Same, babe! Until my employer tries to dunk their tiny little hand into a fresh cup of tea and I have 0.03 seconds to safely de escalate the situation paid work is always going to be easier. The Guardian lot sneering down at SAHMs or those of us part time as if it’s the easy choice - and as if mums aren’t doing themselves out of matched pensions contributions, salary based bonuses (as I found out this week! 😂), career progression (sadly), SLC repayments, in some instances even NI stamps or in work benefits (I think??), to do this *work* at home! bleeping morons and they’re the ones writing books on feminism for us all? Fab. I’ll go investigate Gadaffi for us all instead 🥴
bleeping same. I technically work part-time (though it’s basically full time when you add together all the extra stuff I do) and holy tit, work is easy compared to being a mum. Sitting at a laptop drinking coffee, typing some balls, going to the loo whenever I like. Blissful. At worse, I might have to deal with a passive aggressive email or a little bit of critique about my work. Nothing compared to dealing with a tiny person who is in your face constantly, wanting attention or throwing a tantrum, dealing with the isolation and feeling knackered.

Oh that mandarin trifle looks awful. I don’t know which food blogger made that but imagine the rage if some broke zoomer blogger got all in her niche. Maybe a tiktoker.

I posted about that trifle earlier today. She normally makes perfect things 😉.

I don’t think it looks that bad personally. We don’t want to be annoying TD by dissing on trifles 🤣.

I do feel bad for saying it was awful. At least it’s not brown and encrusted with glitter, with someone grinning manically above it. It’s just the combo sounds kind of bad. But that’s a personal thing and perhaps people like oranges in their trifle. I need to get out more.

Good afternoon Frauen. Bit late to this but LOVING that Caitlin Moran is getting a good kicking. Faux zaniness can get to duck.😡

Unless Aardman left their models with Jack, that pudding will have been made when they had the photoshoot, so it's probably (ro)bin fodder by now.

And I meant to ask this earlier but why does the bird have ears? STOP GETTING BIRDS WRONG!

I hope there's some explanation in the actual film as to why, but I'm not gonna sit through it to find out.
The robin was raised by a group of mice so fluffs herself up to look like she has ears. I watched it before I knew Jack was slightly involved and it’s actually quite a cute 30 minute short! Just a shame it’s forever tainted by Jacks sticky brown poo

At risk of 🔺 to anyone who has ever met me, it is the opposite of feminism to instruct women on how to be women.
Back on topic, same goes for people who are appalling at food trying to tell other people how to cook. Get all of ye to absolute duck.

Well that's ruined my day, I'm young but I have a masculine aesthetic. Bugger.

Still it seems to draw the sexually confused women quite well.
I tend to like trashy chav boys and tomboys. It leads to falling for a lot of straight men and lesbians.

Which is unfortunate for a bisexual man.

Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god... I actually like the look of the food pics. I'll show myself out and start a rave thread.

THANK(_)YOU to all who have spoken in support of hausfraus/hausherrs and parenting. It's bloody hard work and, although there are lots of benefits and perks, there are very few protections. Caitlin Moran can get to hell.

Maybe you should remember that with each of those meals, there's every possibility that she will serve up these 'roast potatoes' alongside 😭
