I’m surprised that mums-net thread is still up - there so sleb friendly and lawyer averse!
I’ll be gutted if a story breaks from them, mind you it could be libellous so they can crack on

I think Falkor explained before that this is the last chance - file the missing accounts by Valentine’s Day otherwise the crown seizes you business and assets - everything in the Ltd company
One think I want to know is how the crown decides what to take- can they freeze bank account and take all the sideboards if she hasn’t declared what she has earned? Or does she slide out of it like an anchovy in a cooking bacon, egg, black pudding, tinned peaches and anchovy sandwich?

We may be running away with this theory, but it does make a lot of sense. Alcohol is somewhat more socially accepted when discussing addiction issues, but perhaps it was more than that. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’ll await Jack to clear this up...
Yeah, we might be running away with things, but lots of us have always said her tales of alcoholism never added up. But if it was a different substance…

How can white bread have a hint of sourdough please?
Is it the holes? Has her loaf got an air bubble which miraculously makes it a sourdough hybrid?

Nothing to do with hooliganism, everything to do with sovereignty issues.

Drunken English people causing chaos is an incredibly common sight in Spain.
Of course Spain can’t play football against itself! (According to Spain)

Reckless is right- to have made the money she has after being ‘poor’ and not looking after that money so she isn’t ‘poor’ again.
What an example for her son
I have a feeling that she's looked after her money very well indeed, but HMRC won't be able to touch it. As has been mentioned, it is a way to wipe out debt.

Trouble in paradise again at home and just text my best friend 'she's finally gone to work, praise beans' and then just told her to ignore that so I don't have to explain you lovely lot and what the actual duck all this is.

Anyway back to the eternal grunk.

I wish I understood all this tit, but alas, I don’t understand at all.

Sooooo, as it stands currently, Jack has to weigh up what is worse: having her company struck off and any money in business accounts seized, or submitting her accounts and revealing exactly how much money she’s made over the last two years (which would include Patreon handouts)?

Surely to goodness she can’t be prepared to relinquish her money like that… or does she simply need to make sure her business accounts are empty (god knows she could have rinsed them long ago) in which case it’s no great financial loss?

I’m just trying to figure out how on earth she can justify being so reckless/blasé.
Many people have tried to do that over many years - but it’s not how it works.

If HMRC think they are owed money by the company they will stop the strike off. As there are two years of accounts owing something will need to be filed and tax returns submitted. If one has emptied the companies coffers and not made proper accounting of what has happened that is fraud, and one will be in big trouble.

Furlough is taxable - and there is a record of that. So if nothing else has gone through that company, that has to be accounted for.

I'm starting to wonder whether there's some sort of mass mercury poisoning event going on with these daft squigs. I'd rather dine at Typhoid Mary's than visit Jack's coolinary establishment.

Tax Evasion Jack is probably the most boring iteration, because there's no redeeming feature to her. At least her being a tinned fish fanatic is amusing. Tax evasion is just deeply depressing.

ETA: I've had a wine, and fanaticist is not a word, it turns out.

Jay Rayner did a review in the Guardian this week about a posh new pub/restaurant that has opened up in what was one of the roughest part of Salford. He was waxing lyrical about the food though even he thought it was expensive.

I would pay good money to read his review of Jack's Greek-ish Taverna. Though it could be something unique like an Irish Taverna serving Greek/Irish fusion food...goodness knows what that would look like.

A ‘hint’ of sourdough? Prune butter? Soft of course, lest anyone try to use hard prune butter. A few extras. All topped with plenty of a hot spice. Parsley free from the garden no doubt. duck my old boots.
I know what is a hint of sourdough: it's when you hint to your housemates that you might buy decent bread, but sneak off to buy a cheap supermarket loaf

Addition: even omnivore humans eat vegetables, Jack

Tbf I wouldn’t mind trying Jacks chicken liver and prune bread and butter pudding. With black pudding custard.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jack tried to sell the tax stuff as evil Tories trying to destroy an innocent small business (run by a SINGLE MUM).

And the squiggles would buy it. Because duck it, anyone who sees the words cod roe crumbles and thinks "oooh, let's crowdfund a restaurant to eat that!" is beyons help.

I don't think she claimed furlough from the government, i’m sure she said she was paying Caroline “furlough” out of her own pocket?

I'm saying this hypothetically and out of interest due to that other website - but would alcoholism be more 'acceptable' due to a) the different price of the two substances if one were presenting oneself as poor and b) legality.

Either way if true either are desparately sad.
