I get you.

For me, this is his free time and it's up to him how he spends it. As long as he's not doing anything illegal or anything that will harm anyone then it shouldn't be headline news. It is true that the press highlight his behaviour and ignore the very similar actions of other footballers.

He's not ignorant to the effects of his lifestyle on his health and fitness, so either he knows his limits and is indulging within them or he's consciously choosing to take the hit. Either way, it's his decision and when he gets back to training he answers to Pep and the club and when matches start again he's open to criticism from fans and media if his performances suffer because of how he chose to spend his holidays. He knows that and has chosen that risk over missing out on the social activities of the summer.

It's a difficult balance emotionally, I think - especially for someone as outgoing as him, to cut back his social life would leave him isolated and lonely and that would affect his health and performances too. But I think he needs to find other ways to socialise, to cut out some of the drinking for some other activity.

I can't pretend it doesn't worry me a little that he so often seems to be the drunkest person at every party. It screams a lack of impulse control and that normally comes from something somewhere feeling wrong. I'd love to see him show just a little bit of restraint.

German clubs do punish players who go too overboard with their extracurriculars, last I saw that happen on the regular, it was for Vidal and Ribéry at Bayern... I wonder, if there are such hefty fines at PL clubs, too?

Their time off should be used to rest and recharge, especially this year, when their season gets interrupted by the World Cup. I get that it was a long season, they won the league, and he's allowed to let loose, but... come on, at least pretend to get some decent sleep or something.

I assume he does some training during his breaks just to maintain some level of fitness. I'm sure he won't be turning up at CFA having not lifted a weight or set foot on a treadmill for 6 weeks. I think I'd just be very conscious that there will be some teammates not getting pissed up, and spending their holidays beasting in the gym instead

I physically cringed and held my face whilst watching that video he doesn’t learn! And Sasha looked absolutely fuming until she realised it was a video and done a little dance 10000% council estate after party sesh head vibes

Or with Bernardo in Saint-Tropez and Cannes. That man even parties wholesomely. Lots of upscale dining. The wildest thing his crew has posted bless them is waving serviettes in the air as singers croon nearby.
